The lineups for the scrimmage game had been released and holy cow. It was going to be intense. She was captain of the orange team, and she was working with some young chasers. It was fine, especially since the game was largely to give reserve players a chance to play. The only issue was that she was facing off both Hes and Tambry, who had a fun habit of being really good at steals. Roxie stretched, a bright grin on her face. It was going to be fun!

xxxxx♥ Wʜᴀᴛ's Iɴsɪᴅᴇ Mʏ Hᴇᴀᴅ? I've got to remember those breathing techniques.
After her... incident following the last Quidditch game, Hesperia was starting to reconsider signing up for the scrimmage game. But then she got picked to be the captain of the scrimmage team, so she had to attend. Healer Kavanagh had given her some breathing techniques to help her maintain her anger. Hesperia had also given her a promise that she would call for a time out if she started to feel angry again. After reviewing the teams for the scrimmage game, Hesperia got herself ready for the game. Taking the pitch, she knew that her biggest opponent, as always, was going to be Roxie. But Hesperia was going to keep the game light and breezy, making sure not to stress out too much.

It was finally time for the scrimmage match. Jazz had had so much fun playing during practices that it would be a hoot to play in a real game. Thankfully, the other Seeker was pretty close to Jazz's age. Having watched the games, there were some really intense players. Hopefully Jazz wouldn't have too many broken bones after this one! Walking onto the pitch, the first year greeted Roxie, who they (thankfully) already knew pretty well.

Pàd had forgotten last year about the signups for the scrimmage game and had thusly missed an opportunity to play, but this year he was ready for them. He had been there the minute the signups were posted, volunteering his name for the game. After the lineup had been posted, Pàdraig cheered because he was on the same team as his two best friends, Zoe and Poppy. Oh man, they were going to crush it! Especially since Pàddy and Zoe were the beaters for the team! Puffins beware, because the Terrible Three were on the same team! Pàdraig took the pitch, excited to be playing with his friends.

Kavi had signed up for the scrimmage game because Vikram had said that they could play together, then his brother went and didn't sign up! Vik had been the team captain last year and this year, he was in the stands. After being probed by Kavi, Vikram had said it was to let some of the younger kids get experience. But it was too late for Kavi to back out of the game now. His brother could be a real headache some time... With a huff, Kavi took the pitch, ready to play the game. He was the oldest beater on the field, which was nice at least. He wasn't going up against upper classmates so he felt a little better about his chances on the field.

Tambry was glad to be chosen for this year's mix-up game. It was extra fun that Kavi was also chosen, even if they were on opposing teams. She was excited to play, especially on the same team as one of her biggest rivals. As she walked onto the pitch, Tambry waved over at Kavi before standing beside Hesperia. This was going to be an epic matchup. Her curls were done up in two poofy buns, tied up with purple sparkly ribbons. Their whole team was full of awesome people, and with Hes and Jaelah as their leadership? They'd be crushing it out there!

Hufflepuff │ Third Year │ Thirteen Years Old │ Single │ Team Puffin Keeper & Vice-Captain
Today was the day of the Spring Scrimmage, which apparently was to be fixture at the school, and Rey was excited. It was the only game she’d likely start this year, and if she remembered to sign up that streak of match appearances would likely continue for the foreseeable future. Not only would she start in goals as Keeper, she got the coveted Vice-Captain pin to put on her orange Puffins jersey. This meant she got to help Roxie get the team assembled and work out strategies for the match. Even though the match meant nothing for Cup standings, it was good experience for Rey, and maybe it might lead to her being Vice-Captain for the Puffs in a few years.
Rey was surprised when she got a package in the Owl Post, and discovered the stuffed puffin with an orange bow she got from Papa Milo. The little redhead knew he would be there with the rest of the family to watch the match, which gave her extra incentive to do her best, and to help Roxie with all she could. If she could put up a save percentage like she did last year, Team Puffin should be able to put up the win today. The only downer was finding out Finn never even signed up to play today, though he said he did that to help ensure she got to play.
With her stuffed puffin affixed prominently to her game bag, Rey showed up at the pitch, and after getting her pads and other gear assembled and put on, she rushed out to join Roxie. With Captain Roxie in charge, surely victory was assured. She looked up into the stands hoping to catch sight of familiar faces, not that she was as concerned they might not be there. Time and therapy had done much to repair the damage done to her ability to trust and have faith that not everything was going to end in tears, but she still hoped to spot them anyway.

Alynn was in a good mood today, and why not? He would be starting in today’s scrimmage, the Puffins versus the Axolotls. Last year he managed to be a Reserve, and the game got called before he really got to do anything more than mount up in place of an injured player. Not so today, as he would be competing for the opening possession as a Chaser. As much as he lobbied for the chance to take over for Seb as starting Seeker for the luckless Lions team and put in to be a Seeker in this scrimmage as well. However, considering how many actual Seekers were in the mix, it made sense for him to defer his claim for another time.
‘Should be a fun match,’ thought Alynn idly, as the match meant nothing other than an opportunity for reserves players such as he to start in a game. Though he appreciated having Roxie there in the game with him, they’d be up against two of the school’s best Chasers, including Kas’ girlfriend, whom he wouldn’t mind stealing the Quaffle from just on general principles. They would also be getting a sneak peek of Roxie as Captain, and Alynn knew game experience would serve him well when it came to next year. A win would go a long way to mitigate the disappointing season they were suffering through. ‘Should be a fun match, indeed.’

She wouldn't disappoint her team, she hoped.

She would show those simpletons what was what, she would take this chance and drive the quaffle down to the goal. She would go with amazing speeds and show them that yes, she would next year be the perfect seeker - and they had missed a great opportunity by not putting her in the position. She readied herself for her next amazing win.

She grinned, rolling her shoulders as she stepped onto the field, the familiar scent of grass and broom polish filling her lungs.
