Deinos's legs were heavy as he slowly walked aimlessly up a small hill. He sighed, letting his head droop. He hadn't tried to break the last watering can they had. Again... He just still had trouble gauging his own strength with the tools made specifically for the herd of minis he was raised with. They made it look so effortless. And yet, when he tried to pick it up by the handle he'd end up snapping it and making it useless. Or trying to fill it too quickly and the force of the water warping the wood to be unusable as a container.

He didn't even notice when his vines perked up with interest. Sensing something familiar they guided him without him realizing by pulling him near the familiar scent. If there was one thing they hated, it was experiencing the dregs of Deinos's depression feelings. Plus, he was no fun for them to be around when he wasn't paying attention to them. If they were lucky, maybe this familiar scent could knock him out of his funk.

Deinos's ears perks and his head lifted as he heard the familiar voice. His spirits lifted, though he was a little confused. He wasn't anywhere near where he thought he had been walking as his head swivled around, trying to get his bearings of where he was. He looked back at his friend, Venus, and gave a small smile again. "I'm not exactly sure how I got here, but now I'm glad I am."

Without thinking Deinos leaned down and gave Venus a little nuzzle cheek to cheek. It was as much a friendly greeting as it was a greedy reassurance to boost his mood in seeing her. He tried not to gustily sigh when she asked him what had happened. He could never hide anything from her. He pulled away to kick one of his front pads in the dirt. "I broke another watering can again...." Under his breath he mumbled "Our last one." Then sighing again he hunched his shoulders and spoke clearer "You minis make it look so easy!"

Deinos turned his head to look at a few of his vines when she mentioned them. At the moment most of them were circling Venus. Some looking bashful, one giving little kissy faces, while one or two seemed more interested in looking around him at the clearing. While she walked back to in front of him he wondered how much of his ending up here was his vines pulling him, and his feet pulling him in the direction he knew a soothing friend would be.

A small smile grew on his face as he looked down at her. She always seemed to know how to ease his spirit. She wouldn't yell at him with harsh non-understanding words. She knew he tried his best, even if that best resulted in overzealousness and disaster sometimes. His ears perked a little at her mention of her home. "Oh? Did you upgrade? Will I still need to crouch to fit inside?" His eyes turning a little wicked as he jested with her, as much as wickedness could enter his puppy-dog-eyes. "I look forward to being invited into your home" he said as he began to follow her. "The end of the year?... Is it that time again already?" He looked down at her, a little worry line between his brows. "I hope I'm not keeping you from anything you need to be doing."

Deinos's whole face lifted into a smile at Venus's mention of upgrading her home with him in her mind. He loved his herd and what they did to take care of him, but it wasn't often that he found others thinking of him. At least not that he noticed. And to ask for the help of a shifter! He gave her a closer look as they continued to walk to her home, trying to make sure to take care of every detail and make sure this shifter hadn't hurt her in any way. It wasn't in his nature to think of harming others, but when his thoughts crossed over into those of protection for Venus a couple of his vines snarled silently in agreement for it. His vines had no qualms in following their instincts, whether it was for love or harm. It was one of the reasons Deinos had so much troubles in completing tasks sometimes.

He finished his assessment and concluded she looked as she normally did just as they arrived at her home, stopping in the doorway to gawk at all the work she had done and nodding to agree with her. He blushed softly at the nose kiss. He had always been open with his affections of his friends, but none of them really gave him kisses like Venus. He quite enjoyed the little affections. He turned his head to blush more at her mention of snuggles and coughed, refusing to admit aloud at how nice that sounded. Instead he asked "Resolutions? Are those another form of snuggles?"

Deinos nodded as she reassured him she was safe from the shifter she had mentioned. There hadn't been any sign of damage or scarring on her beautiful pelt. He tore his eyes away from her newly renovated home to stare at her, head tilted a little in confusion. "Of course I would want to protect you. You are one of my dearest friends." He blinked at her innocently but with conviction burning deep within his eyes. "I may not know how to fight, but this strength has to be good for something." At this he gave a soft deprecating chuckle at the strength that caused him endless sorrow at the minis who tried to care for him and the way he had yet learned to control it. Her next statement made him pause. He had never considered his feelings could have been a panic attack. Venus was so smart and understanding, he couldn't help but smile warmly down at her.

He pondered a moment at her explanation of Resolutions. "Hmmmm. Could my Resolution be to come and see you more often?" Again he tried to give her a wicked smile that ended up just being a bit goofy. "Other than that, I'd like to learn how to control my strength more." He glared at the vine being fawned and nuzzled by Venus, telling himself it was only because they never listened to him when it came to trying to help the minis who had raised him. "That means you guys need to learn how to behave, too." Staring at the vine to see if it had given any indication of listening. Again, he could hardly tell what was going through their minds.
