Hated Food: soggy veg
School/Occupation: Azure
Hobbies:
Sports:Andy needs to stay active, and his parents prefer he focus on sports that will benefit him in the future, rather than give him brain damage. Activities like football and boxing are an absolute no, while soccer and baseball are a little…well. He doesn’t really like the sedate pace of gold, so the family has met in the middle with racquetball during the fall and winter, and tennis for spring and summer.
GamingMost of his friends like to game, so Andy does too. Plus it’s a way to keep himself busy when he’s inside, and the sense of progressing and getting stronger and more skillful is a little addictive. It’s so much faster than in real life. Fortunately or unfortunately, his parents keep his gaming time in check, with a weekly limit he has to plan out.
CrochetWhen stuck inside and out of gaming time, Andy is a lot more limited and can get pretty restless. Television and reading don’t really keep his hands busy enough and after a series of quickly destroyed fidget toys, Andy’s family begun just introducing him to various small crafting hobbies to try out. The most successful has been crochet. His grandma will claim she taught him her love of the craft, but honestly it was a cute amigurumi kit his cousin got him that really stuck the landing.
Virtues:
Harmonious:Andy goes out of his way to help people get along and smooth out frictions. He’ll give in on what he wants without much in the way of resentment. Going with the flow and following others is comfortable and reassuring to him, and in turn he makes for a comfortable friend to have when you don’t really want to be questioned or challenged.
Handy: Ready and able to help out, Andy is a great person to call when you need an extra hand, be it moving, as a practice partner, or clean-up after a party went way too wild, way too long. He picks up practical skills fast, so small repairs are also in his wheelhouse.
Flaws:
Restless:Baby shark needs to be moving in some way or another, and if forced to be too still for too long, he can start to wear thin. Nameless anxiety starts to set in, and he can get snappish, even mean, and less in control of himself physically. While he now has meds to help keep this moderated and from reaching extremes, Andy isn’t great at keeping track of them, and he’s still happiest when he has some meaningful way to be active. As a friend, this can make him an incredibly tiring person to keep up with.
Thoughtless:The problem with the golden rule “treat others as you wish to be treated” is that a lot of time, what you want for yourself and what someone else wants for them are two different things. While he tries to be a helpful person, if he isn’t given pretty explicit instructions as to what they want, he’s not going to think too deeply about it or ask around. Andy will just do whatever he feels is good, and be shocked when the other person didn’t want a pet parakeet for their birthday that was two weeks ago, or be set up on a surprise dinner date with their crush.
