Quote: Snowy Showdown (16) : There’s something magical about fresh fallen snow–completely undisturbed and untouched by the rest of the world. It should be relaxing and peaceful–a sign that no one has been around and you’re perfectly safe. Except, the best predators lie in wait, completely invisible to their prey. What do you do when a patch of snow starts clumping together and taking shape right before your eyes? When it all comes together, it looks like a person, only there are no features, just a snowy white form. Maybe there wouldn’t have been an issue if you hadn’t seen it, but it’s too late. In frantic, panicked movements, it lunges at you with icy fists. It feels like being pelted with snowballs, but each hit lowers your core body temperature–rapidly. The creature is highly susceptible to heat and will melt if exposed to it; if you hit it, snow splatters everywhere. It may attempt to reform, but eventually it loses strength. You might not want to stick around to see if it just needs a little more time. If the creature manages to knock you unconscious, you may wake up covered in snow and with a bad cold. You may be more aware of strange, snowy figures that seem to be standing around in odd places; who knows where these things are hiding? Note: This strange snow monster is not a youma but can be used as a battle requirement for a character. It can only be used as a battle if there are two powered characters involved; you cannot write a solo and count this as a battle, and your character must be powered to meet battle requirements. You can use the prompt for as many characters as you like and it will count as a battle requirement, however if you repeat the prompt with the same character, only the first time will be usable as a battle. The snow bunnies were taking up most of Goretti’s time these days, but only because there was such a small window of time to look into them. It was hard to research a creature that came and went with the season–but they kept coming back.
He had a love for all animals, but that’s why he’d chosen to go to veterinarian school.
For the time being, the notebook he’d been logging his research in had been dismissed to subspace.
He had something a little more pressing to consider.
Goretti had left the snow bunny burrow only a few moments ago and was on his way to check a different cluster of them, but in doing so he had to double back. When he’d first walked this way, there had been only fresh fallen snow.
Now, there was a snowman. Sort of. It had the form of a person more than something someone had built, most notably the arm that was held together and dangling downwards. Logic dictated that there was no reason for the snow to cling like that, shouldn't it have fallen? And, just as odd, there were no footprints.
Someone had to have built it while he was with the rabbits. How had they done that while leaving no footprints in the snow?
And it was so unnerving. He frowned and tilted his head as he examined it–glad to suddenly be aware of an Order signature approaching. He could hear the crunch of snow in the distance and half turned to see who was showing up. “Oh, hey. Did you build this?” he asked, gesturing with his thumb to the snowman. While his eyes were off it, it twitched.

Tea had been wistfully walking through the winter wonderland having checked on some of the snow bunnies herself when she was paused by Goretti, the chibi senshi cocked her head sideways a bit and pointed to herself before looking at the snowman.
"Unfortunately, I am not that talented with snowmen." She said with a pause and squinting her eyes had it moved when Goretti took his eyes away from it? The adult chibi thought she was seeing things. Clearly snowmen don't move.
"I assume you didn't build it either since you asked me." Tea placed one arm over her chest while she rested her elbow in her hand placing the other to her cheek so she could think.

“No, not me. I can stack three snowballs together, that’s about as much as I can do.” That was all you really needed for a snowman; whoever did this had too much time on their hands. Well, no. He supposed it was a work of art, in its own way. And it was a spontaneous mystery.
Being unknown didn’t mean it was bad.
Goretti mimicked Tea’s position, only instead of placing his hand to his cheek, he cupped his chin to analyze the snowman.
Something about it seemed different but he couldn’t quite tell.
There was still an overwhelmingly menacing aura about it.
“...Are you picking up anything weird from it or is it just me?” he asked, tilting his head to make sure there were no footsteps leading to or from the snowman. None had magically appeared. “This wasn’t here when I came by a few minutes ago.”
It twitched again–only, this time Goretti saw it. The thing looked like it was trembling in place now, and snow sprinkled from it as it shivered.

Tea was watching "Same a couple of snowballs and some sticks make a pretty decent snowman but nothing this detailed."
She was looking around the ground too keeping the snowman in her peripheral vision. She paused and was paying attention to the auras now as well, "Yeah, yeah there's totally some sort of an aura about it."
She squinted, "I don't think it's a youma. . . ." She noticed the twitch and what looked like it was trembling.
"Who or what caused it to be built then?? Snowmen don't just manifest themselves." Tea kind of wanted to poke it with a stick to see if it'd actually move. She shifted so she was ready in case something jumped out of it, "Maybe it's a jump scare?"

Goretti sighed heavily and pressed his lips together as he tapped his toe on the ground and contemplated. “Maybe,” he said, but the doubt was heavy in his voice. This was Destiny City! Anything could happen. He wished it was more believable to think that there were some pranksters setting up some silly situations and hoping to get candid reactions from passers-by, but out here? This late?
He seriously doubted it.
And yet, he couldn’t even be satisfied when his theory was proven correct because all of a sudden there was a human shaped snow monster barreling towards them. It was silent, except for the sound of crunching snow, and it seemed like when it realized it couldn’t keep up the charade it panicked–and thought the only suitable solution was to charge right at them.
“Oh–hey!” Goretti blurted, and even as he jumped to the side to try and avoid it, he did what he could to slow it down. He hoped this thing wasn’t strong enough to need his full power but he wasn’t going to take it too easily just in case.
“Glue Pool!” he shouted–a habit, more than a need. Difficult to see amidst the snowy white ground, a glue puddle appeared beneath the snowman. It stuck, but it was thrashing, desperately trying to pull itself free even at the cost of itself. His magic only bought them a few seconds, because the snowman’s legs broke off at the knees and it tumbled forward, completely free of his magic.
Quote: Super Sailor Scout Attack: Goretti Glue Pool A puddle of glue roughly two feet wide sprouts from beneath the target's feet and remains for twenty five seconds. Up to two people can be targeted at once now; the target(s) will find it exceptionally difficult to ply their feet from the ground, and should they manage to free themselves from the glue puddle (as it can be done, more often than not by higher level characters) each following step will also be hindered by the clinging glue. After thirty seconds, the glue turns to dust and loses all of its sticky properties. This attack can be used once per battle.

Tea was also still thinking about what could've caused this as Goretti seemed very doubtful that the snowman was made by someone and not a youma. She still was contemplating how this came to be when she took her eyes off the snowman for a few seconds.
"I know it sounds silly since there's no foot prints or evidence that anyone put a snowman up here." She was just kind of not wanting to blame it on magic, even though she knew magic was a real thing.
The chibi hadn't expected the snowman to just out right charge them but it did. "Oi!!!" She felt like someone was setting up Frosty clones to try and cause a problem for them.
She heard Goretti call his attack -- her head tilted for a second when she heard it was glue pool. "Glue?" She asked curiously before turning back to the snowman who was struggling to get out of the sticky situation.
There was a heavy frown but it's legs had broken off and she decided to try and take advantage of the face it'd separated from it's legs to try and kick one if it's arms to see if she could harm it.
"Ohh this is the second time I've seen one of these" The memory of being chased by a similar thing when it charged them caused her to give a quick shudder, "They're stubborn or they've got quite the health bar." She wouldn't concend it was because she was stuck as a chibi that wouldn't allow her to help defeat the snowman outright without some work put in.

“Seriously?” Goretti asked incredulously. It wasn't that he didn’t believe her, just that he didn’t want to believe that there were multiples of things like this out there!
One was more than enough.
“How did you beat it before?”
The glue might have slowed it down, and he was already casting another glue puddle to try and hold it in place. He might at least be able to buy them some time to figure things out. It was snow, it should have been easy to handle–right?
Snow literally just melted. Too bad he didn’t have fire magic–or a blow torch. Maybe she did?

Tea needed when he asked seriously, "Seriously!!"
She paused and thought about how they beat it before, "Well..... we ran to the nearest building and jumped on the roof." She admitted, "After you know trying to kick it, punch it, and stuff which didn't work."
She looked around, "It ran into a wall and well... it was dusted that way." She explained looking for something useful. She knew her magic wouldn't be anywhere near good enough in this situation. "My magic's only for healing... so that won't help here."
Was there some kid's sled laying around maybe? "If we could find something large enough to throw at it, that might help?"

Goretti wasted no time in nodding. “Yeah, go ahead. I’m going to try and find a way to keep it in one place. If we lose it in the snow–”
Well, that was it, wasn't it? He couldn’t tell where this creature started and ended. It seemed like it was an extension of the snow, and if it weren’t for the part of it trapped in his glue puddle he wasn't even sure how they were supposed to keep an eye on it.
His magic could buy them time but he was reluctant to tear his gaze away just in case it pulled a fast one. “Are there any branches over there?” There were plenty of tall trees around here, and with all this snow maybe the weight of it had been enough to weaken some of the branches.”
If they’d dusted it before it was all he could hope to do now; he didn’t want to kick the snow and scatter it, so he stomped–hard–on the wriggling snow trapped in the glue.
It crunched. It powdered, like ash.
…He just hoped the rest of it could be handled the same.

Tea nodded when Goretti told her to go ahead. She dashed ahead, into the trees. "I think I can find one or two!! I'll call if I find anything else to use as well!"
She was searching frantically for some branches large enough to use, she paused looking up towards the canopy, before jumping up and climbing the tree. She was using her heel to try and break the branch; "Hey Bring it this way!!!" She said as she heard the branch start to break, "I think I can drop this on it!"
She had paused hoping that Goretti would get the message.

“Ehhh?” He briefly tore his attention away from the strange snow creature to find Tea in the trees. The glue was weakening, and what was left of the creature seemed furious. She wasn’t so far away–and she seemed to have this figured out.
It took a split second to get the gist of her idea, and it didn’t seem like it would be too difficult to get there. He just had to hope that the monster was willing to be lured.
Well, no time like the present. “You got it!” he called, and kicked some snow at the monster before backing up. It seemed incensed, for better or worse, and even though it was only a fraction of what it was before, it was still trying to charge right towards him.
It was on track to be right under Tea and her branch–he just had to hope she had good aim.

Tea was glad he understood the request and as the snow monster came closer she was slowly putting more and more pressure on the branch hoping her timing and aim was impeccable today.
When she heard the final snap grabbing onto the branch above her so she didn't fall with it without wanting to she watched the limb plummet to the ground and land with a heavy thud.
The snow creature was almost directly underneath the branch and she laughed a bit thrilled that it seemed the plan might've been a success, "Oh man, did it actually work?"
She aimed a jump down on top of whatever might've been left over just to make sure the snow man was hopefully good and dusted.

Goretti kicked at the ground as if to test for any hidden enemies, and when nothing shifted or moved in the slightest, he burst into a delighted laugh and nodded approvingly
“You’ve got great aim! Okay, so it looks like heights are the key. I’ll have to keep that in mind if I run into any more of those.” He hoped that he wouldn’t, but this wasn’t her first time so it might not be his last.
He began to shuffle in a circle around the area, kicking up the snow just to make sure there wasn’t anything hiding beneath. It seemed sufficiently gone so his heart was returning to its normal pace.
“That was a good idea. Oh–now that it’s gone, I guess we should do the introductions, yeah? I’m Goretti, Senshi of Glue. It’s nice to meet you, I don’t think we’ve bumped into each other before?”

Tea watched as Goretti kicked around the ground to test for more evil frostys. She shrugged, "I think we're good, at least he doesn't split into like a thousand tiny evil frosty clones when smashed."
She laughed a bit, "And yeah I assume if someone had offensive magic maybe it'd be fine but .... I totally don't."
She tilted her head when he introduced himself, "Nope don't think we have. I'm Chibi Tea, senshi of mice." She said with a smile, "A pleasure to meet you as well!"
She was thinking, "Your magic looks interesting the way you used it to try and slow down the snowman."

“Oh, thanks. I mean, glue,” he laughed. “When it works, it works. Chibi Senshi of Mice? What does your magic do, if you don’t mind me asking?”
Not send cute little mice out to do her bidding, he hoped! Magic wasn’t usually like that, especially chibi magic, but he was willing to admit that he actually didn’t know much about what parameters magic imposed upon itself.
She looked a little old for a chibi senshi but he wasn’t really the sort to judge. It was a curiosity. He’d known a lot of Chibi Senshi in his life–especially when he’d been one. Just because he’d grown out of it didn’t mean he completely understood the process.
He was just trying to determine if it was insensitive to ask.
