Quote: Climb High and Ride Far (7) : In the middle of a metropolis, there aren’t many opportunities to get out and appreciate a nice snowfall. Sure, maybe you can look out of your window and appreciate the beauty of nature, but when was the last time you got to do something fun, like go sledding? Maybe never! This year, Destiny City has gone out of their way to set up the perfect hill for sledding–sixty feet tall, four hundred feet long, in a recently landscaped area of land close to the heart of the city. Vendors have set up stalls with snacks and artisan goods, and you can bring your own sled, innertube, skis or snowboard–or borrow, courtesy of the city, if you don’t have one already. Whether there’s been recent snow or not, DCU has some artificial, environmentally friendly artificial snow to keep the slopes fresh. You might not find an opportunity like this without heading elsewhere in the city, so why not take advantage of some fresh, free Winter fun?

Coco was out and about she had heard about the huge slide she had gotten some winter clothes from a senhi friend and she was all ready to go sledding wearing a white coat with rainbow trim. She was also wearing pants and boots. Her cat ears were hidden under her white hat with its own rainbow trim. She only had an hour to enjoy being human before she returned to her cat form, so she fully intended to sled as much as she could before it would look really weird for a cat to be hitting the slope. Then again in this city maybe it wouldn't be so weird after all.
She looked around at all the stands that had been set up but she didn't have time for that, she wished she could have more time as a human but that just wasn't how things worked for her kind. So she hurried to go get in line for the sledding. She looked up it was so high and she would be sledding for a long time going down the really long hill. The way they had made the land scape around would be pretty amazing to look at too.

It’d been a minute since he last did any kind of snow sport. Not for lack of interest, but it was often out of the way and Harvey just didn’t care to make time to go out of DC to do it. Thankfully his daughter never asked to go, so for the most part their winter activities were spent indoors with plenty of cocoa to drink and movies to watch, but that didn’t mean that he wouldn’t try to get back into skiing if given the chance, so when DC announced the hill they were setting up for sledding and other such activities, he jumped at his first chance to go!
Which…happened to be a random day in the week, when he wanted to take a break from his myriad of projects he’d taken on to cover expenses during the holiday season.
He was standing in line for the sleds, wanting to take it slow, ease back into what it feels like to glide over the snow. Harvey slipped his hands into his pocket and glanced back as a girl jumped in line behind him. He offered her a stiff smile, took a step forward in line, and then glanced back at her.
“First time sledding?” he asked, sensing that sort of energy coming off of her, with the way she was looking around and all.

Coco smiled brightly and she nodded to the figure who was standing in line with her. "Yes this is my first time, I don't get out much." She said considering she looked like a young child she might get some looks since she didn't have parents but she hadn't really thought about that part. She smiled "Have you been lots of time? Oh maybe if we went together we would go faster, that would be fun." She said with excitement in her voice.

Bingo.
Not that it was any kind of impressive deduction, mind, but Harvey still felt somehow validated when the young girl confirmed it was her first time. Being a parent himself, he took a second to look around for any sign of her parents. It was…suspect…that someone her age (at least, he assumed she was younger than eighteen) would be out and about in the middle of the day without her parents. When he saw no sign of them, he felt a growing concern for her and considered her question for a moment.
“Not a good idea,” he said, expression turning part way between concerned and annoyed. “Grown men shouldn’t be getting onto sleds with girls your age, ever. Probably a good idea for you to remember that for the future. To answer your other question, though, sort of? I did a lot as a kid, but graduated to skiing when I got older, around middle school age? I haven’t been in a while, though, so I’m taking it easy on the slopes. Don’t wanna wind up with a broken leg or something right before Christmas.”
Harvey took another look around after stepping forward–the line was still moving, and slowly much to his relief. It bought him some time to look for this girl’s parents, though he didn’t notice any adults looking around for their kid. He turned back to the girl, and sighed.
“Where are your parents?”

She pouted and wondered if he was a senshi or something if she showed him her ears would he help her out.. She grumped and crossed her arms. "Oh they are around, I'm ok, I'm old enough to be in line by myself." She said firmly. She didn't want him to get her in trouble as they moved along the line to slide down the hill. "Oh you are no fun and I only have an hour to enjoy this." She said really grumpy she should have invited Tea to go along with her that would have been more fun. Coco had no Christmas plans since she was a guardian cat but she could hardly tell him that. She would love to open Christmas presents, but again the cat thing.

Harvey narrowed his eyes at her when she claimed to be old enough to be in line alone. He very much doubted that was the truth, but he wasn’t the police. He didn’t even work here, and as a private civilian it wasn’t really his business. Sure, he could keep a lookout for her, but would he try and ruin her fun?
No. There wouldn’t be a point to it, after all, and what if she actually was old enough? Then what? He’d just wind up being the bad guy, and that would ruin his fun.
Sighing, the man shrugged and decided to leave it alone. “If you say so,” he said, pausing for a moment before quickly adding, “but seriously, don’t invite random adult guys to sled with you. You could get someone in some serious trouble. Or worse, you might wind up in some serious trouble.” He stepped forward again, before glancing back at her.
“I have a young daughter so my brain automatically goes into parent mode when I see kids in unusual situations. I won’t ruin your fun, just promise me you’ll be careful.”

Coco nodded as she listened to him and they arrived at the top of the hill and she said "Well I'll let it slide this time and forgive you, see you another time." She said with a smirk getting on her sled and sliding off down the long hill and then getting back in line to do it all again as long as she could before she had to turn back into a cat and go back to Oia's place so she could stay warm for the night.

The nod was enough for him, and then it was his turn and he disappeared down the hill on his sled. There wasn’t much of a crowd down at the bottom, but the adrenaline from the trip down was enough to have him climb back up to the top for another round or two before trading the sled in for a pair of skis. That was a lot more fun, and before he left he made a mental note to bring his daughter next time. Knowing her, she’d absolutely have a blast with this, not to mention he would love for her to learn how to ski or snowboard.
