Book of Dark
The black tome you found in the library appears heavily worn and aged, its title only decipherable thanks to being traced over several times. You open the book only to find most of the pages are ruined by various sources such as moisture, fire, ink, etc. while others have clearly been ripped out. The only information you are able to gather is as follows;
The power of the Dark type is not evil, but it corrupts easily. There was once a Grand Dark Master, and only one, the title having since abandoned long ago. There was once an entity known as the Dark One who commanded the Dark type in its entirety. The Dark One is spoke of in many legends and tales and takes on many different forms depending on the story with such examples as the primordial personification of evil, a Black Knight on the back of a ghostly steed who brought darkness wherever they went, an evil alien wizard from another world, even a Pokemon that is said to lurk in the void between the mortal and spirit worlds. Furthermore there is belief that the Dark One is simply another title for the monster responsible for the Darkest Day in Galarian mythology.
There is also said to be a Cult of the Dark One, a group of zealots who wish to herald in the Age of Darkness by summoning forth the Dark One in whatever form it exists in. They are said to believe the Dark One is not evil but actually a God of Knowledge and with their arrival humanity will transcend to a higher plane of understanding.
Dark Channelers are said to be all but extinct with no ancient artifacts from the height of Channeler activity to be found. Dark hybrids are known but often are found in communities of their secondary type if they have one or otherwise alone with few actual Dark type communities, the most major one located in the underground of Spikemuth.
