Opening his phone, he navigated to his messaging app and shot a text to Noa.
Quote:
Hey beautiful. When’s your next day off? I want to take you on a date.
Short, sweet, to the point.
It took her a minute to get to her phone since she was in the middle of filming, but once she was done, Idri’s text instantly brought a smile to her face. Wait…Was he asking HER out this time?! How could she resist?! “D’aawwww….Lil Idri finally asked!” She did her little cackle and flopped on to her bed…That she needed to clean. Anyway~
Quote:
Technically today. Right now actually. 😯 You're asking ME on a date Idri? How could I refuse?!
Now she had to find an outfit, because she was sure they were going on that date today.
Idri waited impatiently for her to respond but told himself she could be at work and couldn’t immediately text him back. When his phone dinged again, he looked at the new message and smiled softly.
Quote:
You don’t have to act so surprised, you know. Feel up to going out with me tonight? I was thinking we could go see a movie.
He definitely hadn’t already looked up movie times for the new Alien movie she had mentioned the other day.
Quote:
I'm working on an outfit now~ What are we going to see?
She really hopped it was Alien Romulus. She was a huge fan of the Aliens franchise and loved the fact that another movie was finally coming out. She even has a special edition copy of the alien isolation game sitting in one of her clear displays, among other things like high quality figurines of jason, freddie, leather face, and michael meyers. There were some anime waifus as well as some husbandos.

Whats my timeframe?

The new Alien movie. Is an hour enough time?
He smiled and stood up to head to his own closet as he texted her back. He’d seen a few of the Alien movies, but he just hadn’t liked them as much as his horror movies. He might tell her that just to see her reaction. She would probably go into the lore and tell him everything she knew about the franchise and why she liked it so much. And he would enjoy watching her get excited about it all. She was so cute when she got like that, he loved seeing it.
Looking up at the clothes in his closet, he made a face. Maybe he needed to find more…date night clothes? Maybe he should get Noa to help him… Hmm would that count as a date?
Noa could not help the squeal of delight that erupted the moment she saw what movie they would be seeing. An hour would be perfect to get ready and head out. Wait….Was she driving? Did Idri want to pick her up? That seemed like a good thing to text about right?
Quote:
Am I driving or did you want to come get me? I'm okay either way
He was just finishing pulling his pants on when Noa texted back.
Quote:
I’ll pick you up. See you soon
He finished getting dressed and went to find Ainsley. “Ains? I’m going out,” he called, heading up the stairs to her room.
“With Noooaaa?” she called back, drawing out Noa’s name teasingly.
Idirian rolled his eyes but smiled. Smug little brat. “Yes, with Noa. Don’t stay up too late, okay?” He just chuckled when his sister groaned and told him to get lost and have fun. He jogged back down the steps and grabbed his keys. Then he was out the door and on the way to Noa’s.
Noa was already waiting for Idri in the lobby of her apartment. As soon as she spotted his vehicle outside, she was quickly leaving the building, waiting for him to unlock the door. She was so excited that there was a goofy grin on her face. Idri asked her out! She didn't understand why this made her feel all warm inside but she took it as a good thing. Once the door unlocked, she climbed in, giving Idri a quick peck on the cheek, “Well hallo thar~”
He had barely pulled up when Noa was coming outside to meet him. He unlocked the door to let her in and smiled softly. “You look amazing,” he told her. Every time he saw one of her outfits, he was reminded of how much he liked her style and he couldn’t help but want to peel it all off of her. Stop it. Movie date. Sex later. If you’re lucky.

Once at the movies, he took her hand in his as they went inside. He bought their tickets before heading to the concessions. “Popcorn and candy?” he asked her, lightly squeezing her hand. This was all still so new to him, it was kind of exciting.
It's been so long since she's been to the movies!!
Noa looked up at Idri with a bright smile, intertwining their fingers together. “Mmmmn….I think I want a pretzel actually.” Popcorn and candy, while she has had them before, do not appeal to her like it would to some. She could consume it, but it wasn't her favorite thing to eat. Then again, she didn't really need to eat anything at the moment.
The things her smile did to him were not safe for public consumption. But most of all, it just made him feel good. “A pretzel does sound good,” he said. “Think you can share or should I get two?” he asked her with a crooked smile. It wasn’t like him to smile so often, but he genuinely felt happy with Noa, like everything was right with the world when they were together.
“Do you want a drink?” He actually wasn’t sure what she liked to drink, but once he found out he would make sure to remember. And to keep some stocked at his house.
“I don't mind sharing~” in fact she secretly was hoping they would share food. It's just one of those stupid girly things where she would put sharing with boyfriend on her social media. Granted, they were not official yet [and she is okay with that]. But when they were, she imagined that type of stuff would be floating around her social media, making everyone sick with how cute it was. She didn't care, but did find the thought entertaining.
Was she thirsty? Of course! But not for what Idri was offering…Noa cleared her throat and pointed to what she wanted, “Yes, a strawberry fanta mixed with lemonade.” The best drink combo in her opinion.
He nodded and ordered their pretzel and her drink along with a Dr. Pepper for himself. He knew that some guys had issues sharing food with their girls but not Idri. He was used to feeding Ainsley from his own plate when she was younger and even now she still stole bites off his plate even if they had the exact same thing. Sharing with Noa was the same, and yet it felt different. It felt like something a couple would do. Even though they hadn't yet defined this thing between them, he liked the idea of sharing with her. That drink though…
“So how did you come up with strawberry fanta and lemonade?” he asked as they headed for the theater.
“Oh! I just mixed the two together one day as a kid~ It's been my favorite ever since. It's sweet, tangy, and delicious.” Especially since she was a major fan of tart and sweet blended together. Inside the theater, most people were sitting up front like insane gigachads, so Noa pointed to the row in the far back, “We should go there” Instead of waiting for an answer, she led him by the hand to the back, towards the middle. There were at least five rows devoid of people between them and the rest of the crowd, so there would be no big heads, getting up to go to the bathroom, or anything interrupting their viewing. “Oh! We’re going to catch previews!” She looked at Idri with bright eyes, practically dancing in her seat. “I hope they show the trailer for that new flick with James McAvoy in it.
She wasn't going to lie, he looked ******** hot as a bad guy.
A soft snort of laughter left him at her oddness as a kid. Though she was still odd, and he liked it. A lot. He made a mental note to buy the two to keep at his house for whenever she was there. He let her lead him wherever she wanted (and only watched her a** for a second, honest). The only time he ever came to the theater before this was to bring Ainsley to see something she wanted to see. He liked this though, and liked that there was space between them and the next people. …And that his tall a** wouldn't be in anyone's way.
He smiled softly at how excited she looked to be catching the previews. “Speak No Evil? I want to see that, too.” It was on his mind to ask her out to see that together when it came out but there was a part of him still hesitant about dating. He didn't want to monopolize all her time…except he kind of did. It felt right when they were together. When they weren't together, he wanted to text her, call her. She was the last thing on his mind when he fell asleep and the first one he thought about when he woke up. And that scared him.
But he tried to relax, tried to stop thinking like that and to just enjoy being at the movies with Noa. He smiled at her softly and put his arm around her shoulders.
She giggled, feeling like if she told him the real reason why she wanted to see that movie he wouldn't like it. So for the sake of giving James a chance, she kept her mouth shut, leaning over to lay her head on Idri, paying rapid attention to the opening. Noa was so excited to watch alien! Originally she was supposed to go with her besties, but told them at the last minute apparently [so not true, she gave them like…an hour], and they were butthurt. However they understood when she said Idri was taking her out since he had asked. One of her besties simply said okay while the other one tried to embarrass her by saying that her daddy was taking her out for a movie.
Noa having no shame whatsoever said too bad, she actually calls him sir thank you. To which her bestie left her on read at that point. A jumpscare got her and she squeaked, almost jumping out of her chair. Instead she started to lean forward, engrossed in the movie, “That chest bursting was so ******** wicked!” Her voice was barely above a whisper, but she looked at Idri with a grin on her face.
He liked the way it felt with her head on his shoulder. He held her closer as the movie started, not quite as excited as she was but happy that she was happy. That was a weird feeling, too.
He jumped at the chest bursting scene as she did, then chuckled at her reaction. She was ******** adorable, and he loved her smile.
As much as she loved horror and thriller movies, she couldn't help the fact that she was a little chicken s**t majority of the time. Another jumpscare that was actually terrifying and she leaped into Idri’s lap just like the last time they watched a movie. This time her face was partially buried in his chest, hands covering her eyes even though there was space between the fingers so she could watch anyway. Noa hoped Idri would not judge her too bad, but got damn that had her shaking a little. It almost felt like the director had played the alien isolation game…Which kudos to him for doing his research. It was just like the director of the Dune movies and Annihilation…
Amazing.
Idri laughed softly when she jumped into his lap, wrapping his arms around her and murmuring in her ear. “Don't be afraid, little mouse, I'll keep you safe.” He pressed a kiss to the side of her head, feeling affectionate. At a horror movie.
What the hell was wrong with him? The movie was good, though he'd admit to not really knowing half of what was going on. Maybe he'd ask her to explain what he missed later, just to watch her eyes light up while she talked about it. It was a visually stunning movie, though.
Noa covered her smile with her hand, looking up at Idri to give him a kiss on the cheek, settling into his embrace only to squeak yet again at a particularly gory scene. She didn't cover her eyes because the effects team should be getting a bonus for something that visceral. “Wholly s**t did you see that?!” She was still whispering but this time she was more centered on Idri, trying not to jump out of his lap when an amazing scene popped up for the protagonist. Instead she bounced to try and contain her excitement. That was so bad a**!
Idri was staring at the screen as he held her, impressed by the scene and the visuals. “That was awesome,” he said quietly. And now she was bouncing on his lap. He had to bite his lip to hold in his groan, his arms tightening around her a bit. No, stop it, don't think about sex in the back row.
Too late.
Noa did not realize what she was doing, she was far too absorbed in the movie. When she felt Idri tighten his embrace, she looked back, “I'm sorry! You can't see can you?” Idri is a behemoth of a man but that didn't give her head the right to be in front of the screen when they were both trying to watch the movie. Noa eased herself off of Idri’s lap, giving his cheek a quick kiss and turning back to the movie, which seemed like it would be over in two minutes.
He almost pouted when she left his lap, but let her go. The movie was almost over anyway. When the credits started rolling Idri waited for the crowd to leave before standing. He didn't want to take her home yet. “Want to go see another movie?” He really hoped he wasn't being obvious, but he just wanted to spend more time with her.
Noa was among the people that clapped when the credits rolled, wanting to make sure she went to the theater to see the movie again with both her besties. Another movie? She looked up to Idri linking her hands with his, “Sure! What are we going to see?”
They decided on Twisters for their second movie, getting their drinks refilled before heading to the theater. “Back row again?” he asked her with a slight smirk, his fingers laced in hers. He had never been the type to want to hold hands, but with Noa it seemed like the easiest thing to do to keep in contact with her.
“Sure~” She happily allowed Idri to lead her to the back, sitting in her chair with her drink. “Oh! Do you think we would see a trailer for Alien?” The thought caused her to hold back a laugh, if only because they just saw the movie literally five minutes ago.
Idri took the seat next to her and stretched his legs out as far as he was able to. The thought of seeing a trailer for the movie they just watched made him chuckle softly. “That would be pretty funny,” he said. “But maybe? They’re advertising the hell out of it.”
“True.” Noa admittedly was a bit less enthused this time when the movie started. Sooooo this was a movie about tornadoes? How boring. Where was the fun in chasing after storms? Sure there was the danger of getting caught up and whatnot but that was it really. Also the MC was kinda hot…Sorta? Ugh…It's soooo BORING! Where the hell is the suspense? The serial killer or killer alien? Hell, where was the sense of horror? Pretty soon her attention started drifting, and when that happens, no one is safe. She flopped over in Idri’s lap, poking at his stomach. “This is not the movie I thought it would be. Lake Placid is better than this.”
Idri had to fight the urge to yawn. This was definitely not the movie he thought it was going to be. He turned his gaze to Noa who was clearly feeling the same way. Her flopping onto his lap had him smiling a little. “You’re right. Want to leave?” Or we could…take advantage of a dark movie theater… No, stop it. He slid his fingers through her hair while he waited for her answer.
“Mmmmn…No, gotta see this through sadly.” But what could she do in the meantime? It is dark….You know what you could do. She sighed and debated…Thinking all of maybe five seconds before slotting herself into Idris lap like she did the last time, but instead, she pretended like she found this particular part of the movie exciting.
