STORY
Flight 005 departed from Tokyo, Japan going to Hawaii, USA.
It was just a pleasant day as passengers of the plane were making friends with each other on the flight. However, there was a bump toward the back of the plane when they were flying over the Pacific Ocean. The bump turned out to be an engine failure, causing the plane to fall into the ocean and crash.
All hope seemed lost, since all but 15 passengers survived. However, there was an island far off in the mist. They swam toward that island, and only 14 made it there alive. The other survivor had died of hypothermia.
The island was beautiful at first glance. Trees grew all over, baring delicious fruits. Deep in the forest, there was a spring of fresh water. Next to that spring, there was a larger lake that was able to bathe in. It all seemed to be all right for the first week or so, until three members of the team decided to go off on their own for a trek.
On their trek, they ran into a giant cat that attacked them. One of the members grabbed a branch from a tree and stabbed the cat with it, killing it. Feeling a pang of hunger, the three members decided to share the dead cat with each other. Once they finished their meal, they headed back to camp. That night, the three members ran into another survivor, and they felt a strange urge in their stomach for meat.
The next morning, the survivors woke up and headed out to the beach. However, to their shock and dismay, they found the bones of a human. They stared in horror, seeing that something had eaten that poor person. Since all of the creatures lived up toward the mountains, they figured that the only one that did this was a cannibal.
They all agreed that this was not a safe place to be, and that they would have to vote each other off every night. Doing this, it would eventually lead to the death of these cannibals.
Unknowing to the members, there was a small village of natives deep in the forest and by the mountains. These natives were watching on the night when the cannibals ate the innocent member, and know who these people are. The natives wanted to help the innocent people, but feared that the cannibals would go after them in revenge. So, in secret, they left clues in the island for the innocent members.
Who will survive? The cannibals? Or the humans?

The following rules and standards were typed by Cookie Pixie. Give her credit.
Quick and Dirty Gameplay
Every day, vote out one of your fellow survivors. Cannibals also tell me who they're eating. Votes are tallied by a deadline time and a new round begins the next day.
Last ones standing win!
Staring a New Game
The GM (game master) will make a thread calling for sign ups. The thread will have the following information bolded:
Cost to join in and play: this money goes to the winners' pot. Number of players: only a certain number of players can be taken per game. First come, first serve. Deadline time: this is the time that votes have to be in by. The time is always given in Eastern Standard Time. If you don't live in this zone, refer to this clock.
Gameplay (full instructions):
1. You will receive a PM with a title: either HUMAN or CANNIBAL. (For simplicity, that's what I'm classifying them as. Take your moral debate elsewhere, it's just a game.) If you are a HUMAN, the PM will link you to the game thread. If you are a CANNIBAL, the PM will list your fellow cannibals.
Humans and Cannibals are selected randomly by Randomizer.org; I don't choose or have any influence over the results.
2. Talk in the thread! Roleplay, chat or just bounce suspicions off each other! This isn't the only way to chat though. I highly recommend that survivors exchange IM information. It's simply easier to get in touch with others.
3a. Every day, before the deadline, one person will be voted off the island. Before this deadline, you MUST PM dasquidmaster who you plan to vote out. I will show on the survivor list how many votes each person has received, but not who has voted them. You may change your vote; the last thing I receive by the deadline is your decision. If I don't receive anything? That's cool too.
3b. In the event of a tie, the survivors in question will go head to head for another day. A second vote is taken. The survivors in question cannot vote, but can try and convince the other survivors not to vote them off. If the tie continues, I will randomly select who goes.
3c. If you are a cannibal, you and your fellow cannibals must alsocollaborate and decide who to eat. This can be done through PM, AIM, e-mail, whatever. So long as someone sends me something by the deadline.
This is in addition to the survivor vote: therefore, humans send me who they want to cast off and cannibals send me who they want to cast off and who they want to eat.
3d. Cannibals eat every night. If I get no votes from the cannibals, I will randomly pick off a human. If there's a head to head vote, the cannibals can still pick off a human. This is to keep the game moving.
4. When all the votes are received or the deadline expires (whichever comes first), I will post the results and a new round of voting begins. I may or may not reveal whether the survivor was a human or a cannibal.
5a. Everyone on the island has access to the radio. However, the witch doctor will try to send clues through the radio to the humans to stop the cannibals. If you are a human, check your PMs often! You may receive a clue from the witch doctor, but it is up to you to share it with the group.
5b. Cannibals will never receive clues. The cannibals must be cunning enough to make up their own clues to cause confusion among the humans. Humans, look out for anyone who isn't speaking up about their clues!
5c. Don't trust anybody. Okay, not really recommended. But the cannibals will do anything to confuse the humans and pick them off. In fact, I encourage them to use any means necessary to prove they're humans. Lying? Just the tip of the iceberg.
The only person you should trust is the me. I send clues directly to humans and even though they sound messed up and cryptic, there is truth behind them.
6. If there are not enough players, all entrants will receive a full refund.
Winning:
Humans: Vote off all the cannibals before you're all eaten. However, only the surviving humans will split the pot. Therefore, if you were eaten on the first day but by the fourth day the cannibals are gone, you don't get anything.
Cannibals: Reduce the number of humans to less than your original number. If there are two cannibals, you need to trim the herd down to one human. If there are three cannibals, you win if only two humans remain (not including cannibals). All cannibals receive a share of the pot, regardless of whether they survive or not.
Strategy:
...I've already told you how to play; I'm not going to tell you how to play it well!

Rules:
1. This game will require DAILY PARTICIPATION. If you will not be able to check Gaia at least once a day, I suggest that you don't play. You may end up holding up the game or your fellow players. (I do understand that everyone's only human. If you're not able to get on once or something, it will be fine.
2. Please do not change the appearance of your avatar or your username. These are important to the clues. I din't think some people would be able to deal with not changing their avatars, so I'll make a picture at the beginning of the game. But changing your username is confusing, so don't if you can avoid it.
3a. If you're out, you're out. Don't post here anymore. Don't communicate with the other players in the game. This is to heighten the sense of drama, having a voice suddenly cut off. I know I can't stop PMs, but I trust you guys to play fair. I will throw you out of the game if you don't comply.
3b. If you're not in the game, don't post. It'll confuse the players and lend an uneven advantage to one side. Posting is limited to the survivors.
4. Please post your thoughts on the thread, but communication isn't limited to here. The cannibals will definitely need to PM or IM each other elsewhere; if you trust someone enough to share your suspicions, feel free to use PM/IM. However, if you want to talk to everyone, I recommend using the thread.
5. Should I throw you out of the game, you're not getting a refund.
6. I try to be fair, but I'm also human. Changing your vote once or twice is okay, but after the seventh "Sorry, changed my vote" PM you're going to piss me off. And I can't guarantee that I'll treat you fairly if you keep it up. Also, if I make a mistake, I apologize - after all, I'm human - and feel free to correct me!
6b. In accordance with Being Human, I do not live on Gaia. I might be, in this context, more human than a lot of you, being rather young and at the mercy of my parents. I will try to answer things in a timely fashion and update as soon as possible, but if I had to choose between my mom's trust and updating the game? Hmm.
7. Rule-breaking is on a two-strike system. First offence - I PM what you did and list your name. Second offence - you're out.
I may clear your name after the game, depending on the severity of the offence. Like I said, I'm human and I'll think about it.
8. This game is meant to be run by the players, not by me. As some of you may know, I'm a b***h when it comes to being helpful. I'll answer technical questions like "Am I allowed to do this?". But things such as "Can you help me with this clue?"? I'll tell you to talk to the other players. If you don't put "Squid ate my cookies! D:" as your trade title, I'll know you didn't read the rules.
It wouldn't be fun or challenging if you could get all the answers from me; this game is designed so you have to interact with each other. I won't rip off your head if you ask me a question that I won't (not can't, won't) answer, but be prepared to be disappointed if you're asking me for help.
9. Rules may change at any time.
10. Questions? See me.
Note on Other Rules:Cookie Pixie On Screenshots:
Stop.
Taking screenshots and displaying them is no longer allowed in gameplay. See the updated gameplay rules. If I hear that it's still going on, I make this a warn/ban offence. Don't make me do this.
The reasoning:
First off, I haven't actually played a game of Cannibals. Therefore, I don't know personally how bad the problem is and didn't realize its effects.
I allowed screenshots in the first game because it had never occurred to me that people would do this. I allowed it because I wanted to see what would happen.
Apparently, they've been counter-productive to the game.
Cannibals is a game of trust and wits. It defeats the point of the game if you're demanding that everyone send you a screenshot that proves that his clue is genuine or she's really a human. If you actually were trapped on an island, you wouldn't be able to prove you just heard a clue on the radio, right? You'd just have your word(s) and it'd be up to you to prove it to others.
Game of trust and wits. Not a game to see who has the most l337 PSP skillz.
If you would like to argue for or against this rule, post here and I'll think about it. Tears and Rain's game is in progress and it's up to her to make the gameplay-rule change as necessary.
