What person came through here and just left their damn dice on the ground? ... Or die. Right. The single was different, right? But why had they left it? Didn't they need it for their ... game? Whatever they needed this for in their game. Well, whatever. He could take this and at least put it on a table instead of letting it get stuck in someone's foot like a lego brick or whatever.

It looked a bit like a lego brick.

Dumuzi plucked it off the ground and then noticed as the world around him shifted. Wait.

No.

This s**t again-

Something pale and ghostly slams into your back; you don’t see it, but it feels like it’s trying to push you forward–or to the side, or off the path. Thankfully, the magical glass walls stop you from going too far, but this is jarring–and might hurt.

Alright, fine. Another game to win, he guessed. Another game that his a** somehow fell for again. Was this just a typical thing that happened every Halloween season here? Or every fall season? What was up with the cities on the East Coast...

Whatever.

He chucked the die in his hand and then followed it, plucking it up as he caught up to it. At least it wasn't far to walk. Or-- far to fall forward. Dumuzi rebalanced fairly easily for being knocked into, used to that kind of accidental rougher impact from practices, but he looked behind him just to check if he could see the ******** that caused it.

And nothing.

Of course.

Space 3:
A strange fog rolls in once you land here. You lose sight of nearly everything, including the game board. If you want to roll, you’re going to have to get close to the ground to even see where you’re supposed to go next. Hopefully nothing sneaks up behind you.

A one. Really?

He stepped forward to exactly one more of these blocks, and found himself covered in fog that made it almost impossible to see anything. It didn't help how tall he was, in this case, considering it felt like the fog was coalescing around his legs. Great. He needed to lean over to see where he was going next.

Lovely.

Dumuzi rolled his eyes with an overdramatic sigh before he bent down. He then remembered he wasn't terribly flexible due to his muscular frame, and sighed again, instead opting to squat. Fine.

Then he rolled the die again.

Something is twitching and flapping above you, and while you might be minding your own business, something is a little too invested in what you’re doing. You can’t see them, but you suddenly hear shrill, high-pierced noises that are disorienting and confusing. They can bring about dizziness and pain and can cause vertigo if you’re stuck in them for too long.

What was that, a bird? A magical game bird? Having been through this at least ... once ... he knew that a lot of what he was running into was just an annoying illusion, but it didn't quite stop him from looking up anyway. Was there actually a bird up there --

Ow.

Was it a bird who was determined to make his brain leak out of his ears? Dumuzi chucked the milk jug he held up in its direction in an attempt to get it to go away, but it didn't do anything but fall back down toward him and make him actually dizzy.

Time to go. And not vomit.

Space 8:
Something slithers across your foot, so fast that you might have thought you imagined it. Except, a few seconds later, it happens again. And then, again. Snakes keep moving across your space. If you move, they see you–and they might bite. Some of them hiss, some are capable of spraying a poisonous liquid that can cause itchiness or burning.

Dumuzi stumbled out of the prior area, determined to get away from whatever the dizzy bird ghost thing was trying to do. It worked easily, and then he was able to walk a bit straighter, but what made him stand up even straighter was the fact that something felt like it was crawling around his feet.

He didn't like this game. It was hard to predict and even more annoying to beat considering kicking these invisible snakes didn't seem to be working. And kicking at them seemed to cause some invisible gunk to get spat in his direction.

He felt even more tempted to vomit now.

The smell of smoke is in the air. You can’t see what’s burning, but you can hear distant screams, and–carnival music? It feels like people are running past you, and the air fills with panic and alarm–but there’s nowhere for you to go, and the smoke is so thick. You’d better roll quickly so you can get out of here.

At least this was a better roll this time--

A better roll that came with the smells of smoke and it didn't even have the swag to be a cookout. Something was cooking, but it wasn't anything that should be. Dumuzi heard the screaming, and immediately went to weld his milk jug in a way that may have been useful. As he felt more people pushing by him--not real people, considering he saw no one--he realized there was nothing to use the milk jug on.

Just ghosts. Ghosts that were fleeing from a ghost circus fire.

Well. Time to keep going, Dumuzi supposed --

Space 18:
You smell something poison, something noxious. You pass through a haze of strange, green gas as you enter the square, but it fades after a few seconds. You feel cold. You feel empty. You start to decay. Maybe a part of you knows it’s an illusion, but in that split second when your body feels like it might go limp and when you look at your hand and see skin melting. You see bone. You’d best roll the dice so you don’t wind up a skeleton prop for the next player.

Alright, getting away from the scared carnival ghosts got him moving a bit faster, it seemed. He could see the end in sight, he was certain. And then he would have gotten victory against this impossible game once more.

Did he get a medal for that?

... What was that nasty smell, though? Dumuzi scrunched his nose and took another whiff to immediate regret. Why did he opt to do that? That was a bad idea. Picking up the die was also a bad idea. Why was it foggy again, but colourful foggy? Was it green?

Oh, poison.

... Wait, poison.

... He wasn't dying in there, and he knew he couldn't do anything to fight poison. Instead of taking any moment to dwell on it, he started to move himself just a bit faster even yet. He could see the end.

The end; once you have arrived here you are free to leave. You will see be basked in the glow of a beautiful, opalescent aura that will take you back home. If you arrived with a guest, you can leave without them or choose to stay until they make it to the end as well. When you arrive back in Destiny City, you may choose to keep the six sided die–if nothing else, it’s pretty! Though, it doesn’t seem to have any magical qualities, that might be for the best.

Yes, the end!

Take that, dumbass die! Dumuzi ran through the glow and immediately spiked the die to the ground like a football. It was solidly disappointing when it didn't even bounce, just sitting there.

He didn't even get a medal for this experience. He bent at the knees to pluck it back off the ground. Well. Maybe Dumuzi could count the die as something of a medal. Not like he could get anything else.
