Quote: Engine 21 (12) : Once, Destiny City had a functioning train station. Over the years the tracks took their damage, and the cost to repair couldn’t be justified. So the city let it, and the station, fall into ruin. Of course there have been rumors that the train station was a hot spot for ghouls, stuck in perpetual transit. Lost souls with no place to go. It’s not uncommon for trespassers to come out of the station claiming they saw some frightful apparition wearing outfits right out of the mid 1900s. Sometimes, they even hear the whistle of a train, or the clattering of the track as a phantom train rolls in. Engine 21 was the last train to depart from the station, allegedly, and derailed on the way to the mountains. There were no survivors, but the legend differs in how many souls were lost. Some say, if you stand on the platform at 3:33AM you can hear their screams forever cemented in an endless loop, reliving their deaths nightly. It’s not uncommon for people to say that the railroad crossings will mysteriously light up and lower despite no oncoming trains, and some have even said they’ve seen a phantom train speeding through the night. Maybe it’s just a ghost story, but maybe you’ve seen something, too. It had been some time since Sachio and Eunkyung had been able to just be with each other. Sachio was still working on his undergraduate degree and that hadn’t left him much time to go out and socialize and go on dates, and powering up? Unless it was some huge event he had to let that go for the time being. Sometimes there felt like there was no ending to all of this and often he had wanted to give up, but the texts he shared with Eunkyung and texts from his sister encouraged him to continue on. There would be an end, eventually. When he would have a good paying job as a surgeon and wouldn’t have to be studying as much. And he would probably enjoy the surgeries he did as well, compared to just studying. For those reasons when he was finally able to take a break and meet up with Eunkyung when their schedules allowed it, he found them walking around, unsure of the direction that they were going in, but was happy with it all the same. They were close to some train tracks, something that Sachio hadn’t really seen within the city, which meant they were probably close to the old Train Station. He looked at Eunkyung and smiled. “You want to walk some more?”

There was, sadly, little time for Eunkyung to spend wioth Sachio. If it wasn't because of his schooling than it was her own, she was going for dermatology. She hadn't been sure what she wanted to go to university for at first, there were lots of options, but she wanted something which would allow her to help people. She also didn't like hospitals, she tried to avoid them whenever possible, so she'd settled for something that would be in an office and away from a hospital. She had been to Sachio's home world, and it had unsettled her, but she hadn't really gotten into things too much with him. Eventually she would, she knew it, but it was still such a hard topic for her to speak about...even after years.
She had told him her parents were btoh dead, because meeting them had come up, but she'd hadn't gotten into the how. She had simply said she'd moved here with her aunt and uncle, as well as her cousin, and that she was close with her cousins and Seung's family. Glancing over at Sachio now, her hand held by his, she nodded slowly while her dark eyes looked over the tracks. It was so rare they spent time together...tonight she wouldn't mind a bit of an adventure and walking...she liked to walk, she walked a lot. Especially when it rained she walked. She couldn't handle being in a vehicle of any sort...because she still remembered her parents and the accident.
She should really explain it to him, tonight would be a good time. "I don't mind, I'm used to walking." As he well knew, she'd gotten caught in the rain recently and had only just gotten over being sick because of it. She'd refused to take a bus, or any sort of public transport or an uber even. She just couldn't do it. Gripping his hand she smiled sweetly. "You know I walk a lot." Because she didn't like being in cars, even when the weather was nice, she would allow herself in a vehicle when the weatehr was nice even if she was at times uncomfortable.

He nodded to her, smiling gently. He was glad that she had told him about some of her family. It had happened naturally and he had expressed sorrow for her when she mentioned her parents had died. He had to admit to her that while she no longer had hers, he barely ever talked to his, especially after moving for university. The only immediate family member that he regularly talked to was his older sister, who also was with low contact with their parents.
He knew that their situations couldn't compare, but her parents at least sounded like they loved her, instead of his parents, well his father at least, who seemed to only want money out of him and his sister out of the way. He said he wished he could have met Eunkyung's parents.
He was glad that someone had taken care of her though, even if neither of them had gotten too much farther into the specifics of their families, other than Sachio saying that his sister wanted to meet Eunkyung when they had the time.
That would take a while though. He was going to be a surgeon, Eunkyung was going into dermatology, and his sister worked as a Doctor in a hospital in a neighboring city. All of their schedules were packed to the brim.
"All right then, we'll continue." He said, squeezing her hand a bit in return. The night was a bit cold, but it didn't appear to be raining, foggy or sprinkling would have been a better description. He thought he saw a railroad crossing a bit in the distance, it's lights were on, but no train appeared to be coming. Strange.
Going on the tracks was still not a good idea, even if there were no trains.
"I'm glad this time of year doesn't appear to be full of the usual shenanigans that the Negaverse likes to come up with. And I'm glad that we could finally spend time together again. I'm sorry we aren't able to do it more."

She had been there for Sachio, listening to him, when he'd spomen about his own family. He hadn't explained a lot but she had enough from him to form her own opinions on his parents. It seemed like they wanted to live off the sucess of their children, and that they likely hadn't been good to their children, why else would children not want to help their parents at all and instead go low contact as Sachio said his sister had done.
Glancing about, weary of the tracks and the lights, she nodded slowly once she was sure things seemed safe. "It's ok, we've both been busy. But we both know it'll pay off for us in the end - then we can live a secure life together." They might not have talked about it but it was the next logical step - right? Moving in together and helping each other, it would allow them to see each other more as well, she was certain that once they both graduated and had jobs in their respective fields they'd both still be busy.
"This season has been fairly peaceful....I'm glad for it. I just hope winter will be also. I'd like to get through this semester, and exams, without having to worry about the Negaverse and whatever they want to do." Not that she got involved in too many things, too busy with school, but she was trying to get involved here and there. It just wasn't so easy, she often had her nose in a book studying.
"I hope it doesn't rain...this is fine but if it rains I might just get sick again..." And exams were coming up. "And I can't take transportation home if it starts to rain." Though she had never said why, her hold on the others hand did tighten. "You can though, if it starts to rain." Because it very well might, and she wouldn't make someone else walk in the rain with her.
"Let's at least go see what's going on with the station...I don't think I've ever seen it..."
