Lenka was always excited to see Hekate. Honestly, the girl had become her best friend…outside of like. The family, and she loved every second that they spent together.
Slipping her head out of the mirror nearest where she was supposed to meet the other Senshi, she grinned hugely. “Hekate~ How are you! You ready for some exploring? I’m totally ready for some. No idea what I want to get but, I’m ready!”
Exiting fully from the mirror, Lenka stretched and gave a contented sigh as her back popped several times. “Oof. Getting old sucks. Anyway, you ready? I’ve missed you! We need to meet more often, I get bored.”
…Okay so maybe not bored. Not with school and making crystal…things…getting bored was happening less and less which…it was good!
It meant she was growing as a person and just…starting to enjoy life again.
For real this time.

“I’m sorry,” Hekate laughed. “With age comes responsibilities - and bills...” Maybe in another two years or so her student loan might even be paid off if she was smart with her money. It's too bad the crystals in Mirrorspace couldn’t be sold for some side cash; surely jewelers or gem collectors would love something unusual and rare. “Things have been okay. Bored like you.” She smirked teasingly. A commonality between them, but at least Lenka had her adoptive family to spend time with. “I’ve managed to fly under the radar and avoid encountering any White Moon Senshi or their Knights. Although I did just meet another Dark Mirror like us a few minutes ago. Her name is Leona. She seemed nice.” But their conversation was kept brief, and Hekate had pre-planned this evening’s adventure with Lenka and didn’t want to surprise her with another companion for the evening. “Anyway, I’m ready to go when you are!” Hopefully, they’d find a cluster of crystals that her friend hadn’t collected yet.

“Ew! Bills!” Lenka laughed and took hold of Hekate’s hand, nodding as her friend talked about what she had been up to, and then at the mention of another Dark Mirror. “Oh! Fun! I love meeting more of us, but. I really like the friends I have too, and you, Hekate have been amazing for me.”
Hybris had too, and others but. Right now, Hekate was doing a lot.
Pulling her into the mirror, she gave a sigh and released her friend’s hand when they were inside. “What color are you hoping to find? I’m not sure what I even want anymore…maybe some more green? I don’t know. I was thinking of growing some watermelons…I still have mine from…well. From Lenka…I’m sure I could get them growing in my Realm…”

“I don’t have any particular preference, really. I’m just hoping to collect a variety of colors before I start building anything.” Hekate only had a vague idea of how she visualized her island. But without having ever visited her own homeworld, she would have to put together a mood board or something before using any of the crystals she’s collected so far. “I know it’s still a work in progress, but are you going to try to make your island look like your world?” She asked, her head canted to the side curiously. Growing watermelons made sense given her sphere, but Hekate wondered if anything could actually grow in Mirrorspace. The green crystals Lenka had used had produced a field of grass but she wasn’t sure how real it actually was. The principles of magic were often very confusing.

“Honestly, I would like to…Lenka was…” She swallowed and tried to force back the sudden onslaught of tears that wanted to spring to her eyes. “It was amazing. This overgrown jungle, and it would be nice to have that again…”
Since she would never be able to actually have Lenka again…still.
…Still! Lenka had options. She had potential to make what she wanted. And a garden was the first step as to what she wanted.
“I’m not…I’m not really sure what I want to do, but I know I want a proper garden, that’s for sure. And I think I’m going to work on covering the place in grass before anything. It’s just so…bland and empty with the blank parts, So. Grass first and ask questions later!”
She forced a smile and looked away, swiping her hand over her eyes. “We’ll get you a ton of crystals and then you can start right away when you get your realm. Easy peasy!”

Hekate stepped forward and placed a hand on her friend’s shoulder. “I’m sorry,” she replied, her tone and expression full of genuine concern. “I can tell how much your world meant to you.”
“At the rate we’re going, I’m sure we’ll be able to your island will start looking like your world in no time.” She smiled at Lenka, her confidence shining through. “Who knows, maybe as we explore more of Mirrorspace we might stumble upon a mirror connected to your world. Wouldn’t that be something?” Wishful thinking coming from someone who had no idea worlds existed before talking to Lenka.
That said, Hekate really didn’t have any desire to travel into space to some isolated world. She was content with having the ability to fast travel across Destiny City by simply stepping through a mirror. Convenient and saves money on transportation costs.

Lenka gave a grateful smile and shook her head, pushing everything away once more. “It’s been a while since I got upset like that, but…yeah, you’re right. And it would be pretty cool if we could find a way to go to Space from Mirrorspace…even if it wasn’t quite our worlds but…honestly, anything could be possible, I suppose!”
And it was a nice feeling. One that made her want to relax a little. She glanced around and the shine of a cluster of blue crystals caught her eye. “Bingo! Here are some, Hekate. The blue ones make water…oh could you imagine making a beach on your realm? Just the perfect beach, soft sand. No sharks! No waves to knock you down and try to drown you…”
Lenka gave a laugh and then a small shudder. It had happened once, and she hadn’t enjoyed the feeling but…a beach that was quiet and calm?
Perfection.

“Ah, I’ll probably have water somewhere on my island, but not likely a beach.” Even if it would be free of animals, she didn’t want to be visiting Mirrorspace in anything less than what she was wearing now. “I’ll think of something.” Once Lenka had gathered her crystals, Hekate leaned over to pull a cluster out for herself. However, as she leaned back to pull it free from the ground, its sudden release sent her stumbling backward. She let out a surprise “Oh,” as she moved to get back up, brushing off the back of her dress with her hands, she looked at her friend with an embarrassed expression. A blush swept across her otherwise pale features, a stark contrast to her vibrant green eyes. “Clumsy me,” Hekate laughed nervously as she stowed the crystal away with the ones they’d collected previously.

“Look, nobody comes into this thinking that they’re going to just pull actual crystals from the ground. You fall sometimes. It happens.”
Lenka didn’t laugh...well, not at Hekate’s falling. She did laugh though. Her friend had made her happy again, and that was nice.
“I might make a beach. Go swimming. I don’t know. I’ll figure it out. We’ll figure it out, I’m sure. We have time. And I guess…that’s really what matters.” Time to explore. Time to build. Time to figure out what they wanted…
Right now though, what Lenka wanted was for Hekate to get to the point where she could have a Realm of her own…just so Lenka would have someplace else to hang out.

“I do wonder, though.” Hekate fell silent, her weight shifting from one foot to the other, arms crossed over her chest. “Have you tried removing something you no longer wanted on your island? Does it turn back into the crystal to be formed into something else or-” her question trailed off into a sigh. More than likely the crystal would be destroyed, turned to a fine powder and unusable in something of similar make but different form. “I suppose I’m just worried that I’ll build something I’m not happy with and not be able to fix or change it. It’d mean all the searching we’ve done so far will be time wasted-” Her gaze snapped over to Lenka and immediately regretted her statement. “I’m sorry, that didn’t come out right. I didn’t mean for it to sound like I don’t enjoy spending this time with you. I do-” her tone was filled with sincerity. “I’m just worried that all these crystals we’ve found so far will be wasted once I get started building mine. Unfortunately, I’m not an architect so it’s hard for me to visualize structures without having a photo reference.” In a quieter voice, she added, “I’m so uncertain what I want to do with mine. I don’t want to ruin the crystals we’ve found together.” Almost felt more worth it to keep them as the tiny treasures they were and hold on to them for the memories.

Lenka shrugged. “I haven’t tried to change anything, but…I know you can add to things? So like, if you wanted to make something bigger…I think there must be a way to change things if you’re unhappy…”
With a small smile, Lenka nudged her friend and looked…happy with her words. It made her feel good. Made her feel like she really did have a friend. One that cared about her and what they did together…it. It felt warm. And she felt happy.
“The best part about all of this is…the fact that there should always be more crystals for us to get. And I’m not ever going to stop wanting to go on adventures with you…so…if things aren’t perfect at first, then we’ll just find more and work on it! Easy peasy.” She looked at Hekate, still smiling, still feeling warm. "Do you wanna head back and grab ice cream or something? Celebrate another great haul!"

“Thank you Lenka,” her friend’s optimism was reassuring. “Ice cream sounds too cold with how the weather has been lately. But if there’s an option for lava cake to be included then I might be able to be swayed.” A teaching smile tugged the corner of her lips. Given the time, there likely weren’t many ice cream parlors open but there were most definitely late-night dinners or pubs that would have something like that on the dessert menu. “I assume you know of a mirror that’s close to a restaurant we can go to.” Otherwise, Lenka would have probably suggested something else instead. Either way a sweet treat before heading home would be nice after all the socializing she had to do these last several days.
