His foot still hurt, because of course it did, from kicking that gargoyle but he really didn’t want to let it ruin things for him. Tonight was going to be an easy night, he wasn’t going out powered up at all, it was an evening out with Lorcan - just the two of them. This wasn’t going to involve magic or anything of the sort. He wasn’t sure he’d call this a date but he wasn’t entirely sure it wasn’t. Kioshi supposed this was their version of a date, something outside of either of their homes, where they were able to enjoy being out together.
The sidewalk are devoid of people but covered in leaves of various colors, the trees had started to turn colors, and he was certain he could smell a fireplace nearby though he couldn't see any smoke rising. This was what he liked about fall..it was relaxing and peaceful. It wasn’t loud like the summer…there was a certain hush and cozy feel to this time of year. He could get on board with it, because it was peaceful and he needed that in his life, it helped to keep him from having more migraines.
While walking he felt something hard, like a stone, under his foot and it rolled. Drawing his foot back he kicked it lightly so he could see it. A dice…Looking it over he felt certain he’d seen it before. After a moment's consideration, and some more staring, a memory hit him but it was too late. He was already bending and going to pick it up. “s**t…I’m so ********.” He knew it, he felt it, there was a pull to it…something which made him reach out for it.
“Don’t look and don’t touch it.” And he was gone - his fingers having wrapped about the single wooden die.

Lorcan hadn't been far, not really, when he saw the other dice next to the one Kioshi had grabbed. It wasn't exactly what he had expected to see, there wasn't a casino nearby and gambling wasn't allowed in the bars in the city, at least not the ones he knew of from his colleagues back when he was in rotations.
He heard Kioshi's statement and tensed. "What do you me...." But the words cut off as he felt the world shift and change. Maybe he was being moved somewhere but when he blinked and shook his head, he stood in a square with Kioshi and the dice taunted him from the floor near his foot.
"Oh.... what is this?" Looking around, he tried to leave the square and felt an invisible wall. He did not like that, not one bit and he turned to look at the other. "Are you alright? Where are we?" They'd warned him not to touch something but apparently, it hadn't mattered because even if he hadn't touched the dice he was still here and it was still on the ground by his foot.

Cursing as he stood there, dice in hand, he had done this once before and knew what he was in for. He didn't remember it all, it had been a few years back, but he remembered enough to know this was not what he wanted to be doing. "Looks like tonights game night. The only way out is to roll the dice and move along the path. It won't let us go further than we should. Each space does something different so hope for the best before you roll that die you have."
Saying that he looked at the bit of wood in his hand and tossed it onto the floor to see how far he'd need to move. He didn't believe in a god, or religion, but he figured Lorcan might...and he very well might need to be making a wish to whoever or whatever he believed in.
Staring down at the six spots staring up at him he grabbed the dice and headed off slowly. Stopping on the sixth space there was a moment of nothing before there was sound...an oddly high pitched sound but it sounded like..a hum of some sort? It didn't sound like a song, nothing he knew anyway, and as he started to relax he felt something fly by him..a gust of high powered air. He would have thought nothing of it, or at least nothing too dangerous, had he not felt air brush the skin of his arm. A slice in the sleeve of his hoodie, the one he'd got to tease his partner, told him more than he needed to know. There was danger here and it was invisible.
"Just keep still once you get onto whatever square you get...might be safest." Because he knew something was not safe in his space nad he was notg goign to move and risk it, he wasn't looking to dirty his new hoodie with blood. This hoodie had been bought with Lorcan in mind...

Game night? Shaking his head with a sigh, Lorcan picked up the dice and rolled it. "I'd rather not play magic dice... especially considering you are hurt." Eyeing the other as they moved forward, his own dice decided things were going slow. Stepping into the next square was uncomfortable and he could have sworn he heard something but as he turned in place and looked around, nothing seemed to be nearby. Another laugh and he snapped his head to attention to try and find the source even as Kioshi had warned him not to move once entering the square. "Are you alright? I can't seem to move past where the dice landed." It was frustrating and he really was sick of this magic already. Looking around, it was hard to tell exactly how many squares there were but he was hoping the dice would behave and let him catch up to the other.

"The magic won't let you move till you are supposed to. It also won't let you move further than you're supposed to. In other words y ou can't cheat." He stated while holding onto his own die. This was not a game he wanted to play and yet here he was again...damn it. "I've done this once before and I knew better when I saw the die. But they seemed to draw a person ina nd force the issue - rather demanding." But not in a good way like Omen and his demanding nature. This was just pure torture.
Rolling his die he watched it land and scooping it up he shuffled the one step forward. "This game I'll be fine." The words were pas this lips for only a moment before it seemed he'd jinxed himself, because what happened next was horrible. Looking up, curious, and turning in place he swore he could hear eings of some sort above him but from where? It didn';t matter though as whatever it was let out some shrill shriek which sent him to his knees with his hands clamping down on his ears. Eyes closed and his head ducking to seek further protection between his legs. Oh god, this hurt. This hadn't happened last time but now..oh god.
The pain that hit him was harsh, but not something new to him, and when he moved his he felt like he might vomit. He found opening his eyes, even if they were just looking at the floor between his legs, helped a bit but everything seemed to move too slow and in a disjointed manner. Biting his bottom lip to keep any sound from passing his lips, there had been no warning and it was more shocking to his system without any idea he'd be hit like this. He needed to move - to get to the next squre. But he also didn't feel like moving. Without realizing it his fingers grew colder and the area around them chilled. He wasn't thinking about using the passive bit of magic he had...but he was. His ears were chilly but he didn't notice over the pain in his head that had his eyes watering.

So the board had rules, even if he didn't like all this magic. At least this roll seemed to do well and for a brief moment he managed to be just a few squares away from he other. "Damn it!" Cursing as he heard a growling creature, he saw the other crouching down just up ahead. "s**t, you said you've done this before? Is there a faster way out?" Looking between his empty square and the other that was curled down low, he readied to roll the dice again and hoped whatever was breathing down his neck wouldn't follow on ahead. It wasn't like him to lose his cool but he was frustrated that the other was getting hurt over this for no good reason.

UInable to hear Lorcan, or even know the other had moved, one of his hands blindly moved away from his head and found the die on the floor seemingly innocent - a lie. His hand closing around the die he gave it a weak attempt at a shake and dropped it rather than tossing it or anything else. He didn't have it in him. His head was hurting and he felt the urge to let up his dinner, and he was rather certain he might just heave if he were to try and stand up. So when he did see his roll he wanted to hit his head on the floor, hopefully with enough force to knock himself out, five spaces...he had all that moving to do.
Slowly his limbs stretched out, the die secure in his hand again, as he decided to risk it and climb up onto his feet. The resulting tilt and spin, of everything, and the pounding in his head, had him nearly letting up his dinner as he held onto himself but only just. His chilly fingers dug into his templers, roughly attempting to massage the pain away, as he shuffled his way down the path. With any luck things would be better and things would subside...at least a bit. There was no doubt this had or would trigger an actual migrane for him.
But he was shuffling, stubmled and nearly tripped over his own two damn feet, and with a curse he pressed his hand to the glass...or whatever it was. Forcing himself to breath slowly in order to try and ease himself. He'd done this before, this was just like any migrane he'd had before, he could handle it. It wasn't too bright here and that was a plus he supposed,. But when he did reach his square he wished he hadn't. Smoke - he smelled smoke.
The other square was loud and shrill and this one was loud also but with panic filled screams and odd carnival music blaring - and smoke. The smell of smoke was heavy and enough to have him choking and gagging on the air as he tried to breath. s**t. This was not good.

So close... one step closer and it seemed just as he got closer, they were pushed farther and farther ahead. "Kioshi!" Cursing as he tried to push against the invisible wall of the square he'd stepped into, he barely noticed it when the sound came and something sliced through the air and cut through his pants. His leg stung, right below the knee as he looked down and saw the smallest bit of blood. Crouching slightly to look, wasn't this the square the other had ended up on first? "I'm coming! I'll make it to you!" Trying to call out because they looked like they were suffering from some sort of barrage of sound.

The noise and the smoke, the choking and gagging, was no good for him as he held his food down while dropping his die so he could figure out where he was moving to next. He needed to get away from here - before things got worse. Looking down, to the die, the world did one more tilt and spin and he was moving to vomit and spit and coughed and hands on his knees taking slowing breaths before his grey eyes landed on the die. Nearing falling over as he reached out, grasping the die, he looked up and managed to make his way to the square.
"This better end soon." He didn't evben look up enough to see h=ow close he was - so close.
When he did look up it was because he heard screeching and wings flapping and then there were bats on him. Flapping and swarming and as he flailed, falling over his own two feet, he landed on his a** hard and ripped at a bat as he sunk it's teeth into him. Hissing and throwing it, another sinking it's teeth into his hand, he shook it off and reached out for it. The one thrown he went for the other one, which had tried to free it's friend, and went to wring it's damn neck. Baring his own fangs at the thing, as if it might do something. The dead bat was dropped as he tried to fend off the attack, which only sent his stomach sinking and knotting worse.
Gasping, feeling sick and in a cold sweat, he shivered and wraped his arms about himself. He was bleeding, he knew it, he could feel the blood dripping from his hand and his arm...teeth had sink in elsewhere as well. s**t...he was cold and sweaty and he felt sick to his stomach and his head - it still hurt. Finally a thought hit him and he was moving and wriggling on the ground as he looked for his keys and finally, after finding them, he was unscrewing the small silver charm he had hanging from them. Dropping a pill into his hand he dry swallowed it. Maybe he'd be ok.

Seeing what was happening to the other he hurried to roll the dice to get closer, he was so close but still behind them. Banging his shoulder against the invisible wall he was so frustrated that he barely noticed that the ground beneath his feet seemed to give with each step and he slowly started to sink. "Quicksand?" Trying to remember what one was supposed to do in this situation, he wasn't even sure if rolling the dice would work because it might get sucked below the swampy tile he was standing on. Shaking his head, he saw they were bleeding and going for their pill canister. This wasn't good and he still couldn't get any closer.

This hadn't been good since they'd arrived, it had just been progressivly getting worse, and by the end of this Kioshi was going to need more than just his medication. He felt like hell had warmed over, or frozen perhaps? He wans't sure which seemed the more fitting term to use, or which was even the right one, as he was a bit turned about mentally considering the pounding in his head and how much everything seemed to be complaining. From his head to his stomach and now the bite marks and blood. He figured himself a mess in looks - he certainly felt like a mess. But he was close, so close, and the dice roll would but him nearly at the exit of this place.
Taking a moment to glance back he stared for a moment, blinking slowly. "Almost out...ground is sinking." Pointing to the ground the other was sinking into. He should help...but he also knew he couldn't. The only thing he could do was get out of there and hope the other got out also. "Roll the dice, get out of that space." Calling out to the other while he turned bacck to move himself.
One space left, damn it, he'd gotten so close. Gasping when the ground shook, and it wasn't vertigo, the ground strarted to give from under him and he was reaching for anything as he started to fall as the ground gave under his feet. Cursing, rather loudly, he felt sick ...or rather sicker at the thought of falling into nothing and not escaping this game. Flailing about his hands lande don something. It bit into his hands, whatever it was, but he saw nothing but air. The strength he normally had as an eternal was absent today but desperation, and a need to escape, kept him going and allowed him to hoist himself back up and reach for that damn wooden die that was innocently sitting on a bit of remaining ground. Panting and shaking, with cold or adrenaline, he felt near to passing out at this point.

Hearing the other he rolled the dice and was relieved to see that the ground solidified as it impacted. He hurried forward but again the wall stopped him and he felt like the ground was unsteady. Looking down showed not a tile but a web that vibrated and shook with his weight. Looking down, far below he could swear he saw eyes and more legs than he'd like to deal with. He might not fear spiders as much as his cousin did but he would rather not stick to the same space for long, he needed to catch up to the other because they looked hurt. "I'm trying to catch up but this damn dice!" Throwing it down, he was glad to see it didn't fall through the webs. He was supposed to work the day after tomorrow but at this point, he was considering contacting Judith to let her know he had to reschedule things for an emergency. She'd understand, just as most of his patients did, that he was a doctor for his family as much as he was for his clinic and sometimes things came up but he would always work to see both as quickly as he could.

The dice roll stopped the floor from falling apart further and now that he'd pulled himself up he was good - he was safe. He still felt like s**t but as he rolled the dice he just elt himself fall right into the final space on the board. Closing his eyes against the bright light as he lay there breathing as slow and steady as he could. This was over...well almost, Lorcan was still on the way. But he was done, no more loud noise or biting bats and no more smoke and screaming. Shivering and laying a hand on his stomach he bit his bottom lip, he didn't feel good at all.
Turning his head, because even behind his closed eye lids it was bright, he sighed softly. Almost over and then home...and bed, he didn't want to move or get up or do anything. The ide aof moving was unsettling right now but he'd need to move soon...once Lorcan got to him.

The dice hit the ground, bouncing off the spider's web and then he was there at the end with them. Kneeling down he helped get an arm around the other to pull them up. "My home, text your co-worker about Omen because I need to make sure you're okay. I saw well... I see blood and you look like a migraine might be settling in." Pulling them up, he was careful with them while making sure nothing else was going on. "I could have sworn I saw a bat, I don't have the rabies shots at home but we can get them from my clinic. I'm not certain if magical bats carry it but I would rather not risk that on you considering only one person has ever survived it and barely at that."Quote: Square 20 (due to more than 5 rolls dice getting doubled)

Whimpering and curling into the other, hiding his face and his eyes, a bloody hand reached out and clung to the others clothing. "Bats - several." Correcting in an off handed, and rather bland, manner as he pressed his face against the other. "Will text when I can....everything hurts." He wasn't sure if his head pains were all from the magic or if it had started a migrane. If it was all magic he was certain that wouldn't remain the case, there was no way it could.
"Trip wire, I think....screaming like a banshee...and smoke - screaming people and carnival music. My head hurts." Oh how close he sounded to tears as the other moved him. He was certain Lorcan had even seen him vomit, how embarassing, but he didn't care how weak he looked right now. He wanted to curl up in bed and not move or do anything. He wanted ice packs and sleep. He didn't hear about rabies and a shot, blanking on it, as he let the other lead them both out of this mess.
"Migraines already here..." Or at least something equivalent to it, and he was so cold...
