René had been drinking and that was enough reason for Alexandre to drive them both home, not that he didn’t trust his partner, but Alexandre wasn’t going to risk things and they had thankfully arrived in his suv rather than René’s car. Had they arrived in the car Alexandre would have had an issue…he didn’t like driving in cars, he felt too low to the ground to be comfortable driving in a car.
Glancing over to the other, stopped at a light, the blond reached up with a hand to pet his partner's hair and smiled. “You enjoyed tonight a lot, I’m glad. This was a nice easy night for energy gathering, a safer way.” One which he felt better suited his partner, who wasn’t as much for violence as he was. René hadn’t grown up with it for years as he had, and thus become used to it, he wouldn’t blame René for not liking the usual methods. The fact there was a new way, a safer way, was something he could get behind and not just because his partner was better suited to it.
It meant fewer risks for himself and he liked that as well, René and Lorcan wouldn’t need to worry about him as much, and it meant he would come home at the end of the night…there was less risk of something happening to him. He could see going to this club fairly often to gather energy and pitch in and help. Turning back to the road, as he caught the light turning green, and started again.

René felt good, really good, after the night out at the club even if his feet got trampled on by the other. Leaning his head back on the headrest he smiled and nodded. “And fun, it was a lot better than my last patrols went.” How many could say that you got to work while drinking and dancing?
Watching the buildings go by one by one as they made their way back to Alexandre’s home, he was ready for a shower and then something to eat maybe. The food had looked good at the club but he didn’t really think to order while out on the dance floor.
“Did you enjoy it? I know you had a hard time with the dance floor but I think you did well.” Teasing slightly he trailed his hand over Alexandre’s as they drove.

“I’m sure it was, this was far safer for us both and you do like clubs.” So he knew it was easy for his partner tonight, he was glad that things had been easy for René tonight, Alexandre could appreciate making things easier for officers. He might personally prefer doing things the old fashioned way, it was what he was used to, but he saw the good in doing things this way as well. It was why he was working on building up stock in plants that would grab energy from people. It would make things easier, and safer, for people. It would even make things safer for himself, so he stopped panicking and worrying René and his family.
Glancing over at his partner the blond smiled, so sweet and gentle, he risked bending his head down to kiss the other's hand fast. “Mmm, I enjoyed it but dancing really isn’t my thing. It’s so awkward…” And he was terrible at it. He just couldn’t dance, and he had no idea what to do with his limbs and his body. It was terrible.
Focused back on the road Alexandre made a turn, heading them closer to home, they were reaching a more residential area in the city. With small cafes and other little things…mostly brownstones like his own.
“I don’t think I’ll ever get better at dancing…so I’ll take the compliment even if I don’t believe it.” It was still nice, because he’d felt so out of sorts and awkward, glad that no one who knew him had spotted him, or if they had he hoped they’d forget.

“Yes I do and that one was really nice, it had good wine and even if I didn’t get food the menu looked good as well.” It was a place he could see trying to bring the other to if he could convince them, though he had an idea that it might not be too hard to convince them. It was safer there and he didn’t have to power up in order to help.
“I think you’ll get better, we can practice maybe at your place when Hudson isn’t there. I promise I’ll behave and keep my hand off your a** next time.” It was hard not to do that to be honest but he knew they would get embarrassed in public if someone had actually noticed.
Smiling, he watched the streets pass by as they drew closer to the brownstone. “It did help, a lot really. I feel a bit better about it all if I can do something like that without having the risk of any more horrible magic. I know you prefer the other way and I will go with you but sometimes can we go there?” He hoped Katya would be okay with things too because he did enjoy the mauvian’s company more and more. It felt a bit odd when she wasn’t around now and he missed her. Hopefully she would be up and about the house tonight so he could tell her about things because he knew she worried about how he was doing after the last fight he’d gotten in.

“We can go back and try the foods then, I’m not surprised they’d have good food offerings.” Considering it was owned by the Negaverse he expected it to be high end, in order to attract more people, the place screamed class if you asked him. René didn’t even need to bring up a possible repeat trip to the club, Alexandre was already mentioning it himself. It made gathering energy easier, and safer, for René so Alexandre was all for it. It didn’t hurt that the place seemed to have good food, he’d even taken a peek at the menu in passing.
“I don’t mind going out at night on my own, if you don’t want to risk it or see how things can get.” How violent things could get, he didn’t want to push his partner too much. This was a new option and one which would help with people like René, people who weren’t as prone to violence as Alexandre was. This would have been an option he might have favored for himself years back, when he was still new and fresh to the whole thing.
“We can go back whenever you want, even if just for a date.” For the food, not the dancing, and they could casually work as well if they wanted. A left turn, stopping because a car stopped short in front of him, cursing the blond glared at the car in front of him.

“I’d like that, a lot mon ange. If we do go for a date we better wear these pins just in case though.” Pointing to the little starfish one that was barely clinging to his shirt. Maybe he’d gotten a bit excited to be at a club, it might have been bad if it had fallen off but he was sure Alexandre would have fixed things quickly.
“I may not really be great at your way of doing things but I want to be there too just to make sure you’re okay even if the best I can do is teleport you out of a bad situation to Lorcan’s.” Just drop some of his magic and run for the hills with the little general in tow even if they didn’t want that.
He’d laughed a bit but then reached for the oh s**t bar as the breaks were slammed on and just shook his head. “Almost home then we can shower since I’m sure you want one after the club.” He could use one, that much he knew, but then again he figured they’d enjoy the quiet time together after the night out.
“We can tell Katya about things too though she knows a bit, I figured that was why she’s been extra cheery lately.”

“I’m sure we can either hide the pins somewhere, so no other patrons wonder about seeing people with the pins.” Because there would be someone there, eventually, who would notice that only certain people there wore that particular pin and wonder about it. Whether they wondered if it was some secret club or who knows what…well that was beyond him. The idea of someone noticing and deciding to snoop was however an issue. “With them hidden on our clothing we can enjoy dinner there every so often.”
Laughing he shook his head, smiling brightly. “Alright, but not all the time. I don’t think you would benefit from exposure to my…more…violent tendencies. But I won’t deny you joining me at times either.” Lorcan would, without a doubt, appreciate it especially if it led to him getting help sooner rather than later. He was doing better on his own though, he did go to Lorcan when he needed to.
“Oh, I’ve no doubt she’s been pleased with things because of this. Especially knowing something I didn’t, all things considered. But a hot shower sounds delightful. After said shower though - bed or something else?” He wouldn’t mind bed but he wasn’t against anything else, including just soaking up some more warmth by the fireplace.
