The Playground is an underground district, completely obscured from the public eye of New Coventry City. It had humble beginnings as a simple Greymarket but eventually thrived and consumed the underbelly of the thriving city, becoming the largest Greymarket in the world. This Grey Market has important links to other areas of the world - but for a hefty price. Portals can be opened to other Grey Markets around the world, including to Greehde. Unlike other Grey Markets around the world, the Playground offers permanent residence to its most influential allies.

I just wanted you to be my brother... ▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▒▒Micha'el Maues▒▒▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄
I was listenin' to the ocean I saw a face in the sand But when I picked it up Then it vanished away from my hands, dah
I had a dream, I was seven Climbin' my way in a tree I saw a piece of Heaven Waitin' in patience for me, dah
But no, take me home Take me home where I belong
But I kept runnin' for a soft place to fall And I kept runnin' for a soft place to fall
Malika approached Tsuna, just as the elevator was approaching the end of their descent. Around them the buildings below were finally coming to their height. Malika stared at Tsuna, looking into her docile eyes, tilting her head slightly. "Poor girl" she whispered to herself, cheaply exhaling as she tapped Tsuna on the nose. "Visit Emmerlita whenever you like - she can give you a fantasy - her price will be what you no longer want - its a win win. Anyway-" Malika spun just as the cage came to a sudden stop. The green light beneath them flickered out and the purple haze faded away.
Micha'el's eyes fluttered as he took in a deep breath, Lottie sneezed. "I never want to feel that again" she said, holding onto Micha'el for balance, then leaning into Tsuna by accident. "Was there music?" she asked, "I heard music, I definitely still hear music". Malika stepped out and into the bustling street, gesturing over her shoulder towards a nearby building where music could be heard echoing out into the streets. "The club" she said simply. Together Team Sun stepped out of their transportation. The Playground was like a giant network of several streets. Sunlight barely fit through the opening between tall buildings around them. Sheets covering much of the alleyus blocked out any remaining light that escaped, and locked in the glowing lights below. People weaved around them, heading from A to B like a well greased machine. A few passer-by's acknowledged Malika, whom she nodded back to. "It's a bit larger than when my father controlled the place - but I'm sure you'll still know your way around, Micha'el" Malika looked around proudly, not really giving the team any focus. They were on the largest street, with various tents, open buildings and rickety balcony-based shops. Steps led down to deeper sections of the district, whilst steps and ladders going up vanished into the taller buildings. Luminescent lights of green, purple and blue held within large tubes outlined various areas. Pipes from the surface funnelled fresh air down, and if one looked high enough a grey haze could be seen. Micha'el noted the girls noticing it too. "Its the magic that cloaks most Greymarkets. Rumour has it Grey Witches are paid to create the curse" "That's no rumour, we pay them good money" Malika chimed in. "So what does Team Sun want to a portal to the southlands? It won't be cheap - for that money you could portal to Greehde. The Southmarch Greymarket is puny, and the City of Crows Greymarket is... well " Malika half rolled her eyes, seemingly frustrated and trying to think of the right words to describe it. "You're not running from anyone I should be aware of, are you?"
I was painting a picture The picture was a painting of you And for a moment I thought you were here But then again, it wasn't true, dah

Tsuna MikiAs the decent was coming to and end, but just before the elevator stopped Malika "consoled" Tsuna. She hated being treated like a child, but even worse was being treated like a pet. Scrounging her nose in disgusted as the green light faded and the purple gas evaporated, they were finally let into the underground fortress. Micha'el and Lottie were regaining their senses, meanwhile hers returned quickly, instinctively. She caught Lottie as she leaned against her as they followed Malika out of the transportation into the bustling streets. Micha'el mentioned music playing and Malika directed their attention to a club nearby. The Playground was a wild metropolis where the sun barely shined and ally ways were covered in tents full of obscurities. People weaved in and out of the crowds trying to get where they needed to go. Some even recognized Malika as they passed inflating her already large ego. She boasted to Micha'el that he should still remember his way around since nothing had changed much since her father ruled this place. They happened to be in a high traffic area with shops and rickety balconies leading up to more wares. The streets were lined with neon blue, green, and purple lights that dulled leading down into the lower levels of the city. A grey cloud cover blanketed the sky hiding the city away from prying eyes. Pipes funneled fresh air from above though so the residents didn't become too stifled.
Micha'el noted that the grey cloud cloak was conjured from the Grey Witches that were paid to do so, but it could be just a rumor. Malika instantly debunked the rumor notifying the team they pay an absorptive amount to keep the Playground secret. Malika began to question as to why they would need a portal and assured them it wouldn't come cheap. Tsuna crossed her arms scoffing ready to one up this manipulator. "And what if we are being persuaded? You're stuck with us since you were so eager to volunteer. As for money...Lottie's loaded." Before Lottie could interject she covered her mouth and gave her a small head tilt to play along. Letting her go, she turned back to Malika and smirked, "Besides, I'm sure the people down here would find an offer more interesting than money. You don't ask for a price on Dreamweaving, only an exchange correct? Perhaps the same applies here." She moved to Malika's other side winking at her as she went. This basically indicated that Tsuna thought of herself as superior and that Malika or Emmerlita couldn't afford her.

"Stuck with you?" Malika asked rhetorically, raising a dark brow over her pale pink iris. But before she could reply, Tsuna went on to explain that Lottie had loads of Octen spare to spend. The small girl was about to retaliate and plea bankruptcy however Tsuna wouldn't allow her. Lottie almost walked into Tsuna's hand in doing so. Malika noted something odd, narrowing her eyebrows as she began to try and suss them out. Tsuna gave her an interesting counter offer. "Smart girl, now you're talking like us too. Anything has a price, all you have to do is name it." Her eyes followed Tsuna as she came to step around her, attempting to position herself in a way that showed her as superior. Whatever tactic this was, Malika didn't seem to budge. This was her Playground, and no one was going to change that. "You're not my problem" Malika then went on, suddenly circling back to Tsuna's initial statement, "do what you want, I don't care." Malika then began to walk away without them, saying "there's a dusty Daywalker down Crescent Tents. He'll get you to where you want to go. Have a good trip, Micha'el." With that Malika vanished into the crowd of merchants and buyers.
Lottie turned to Tsuna, stomping, and said "I am not rich... but my sister is?" Lottie's eyes gleamed at the idea. Lily wouldn't mind if her little baby sister used her card for a super top secret mission to potentially save the world, right? She then realised that the Greymarket won't be able to take Syndicate cash... hard cash only. Attention then turned to Micha'el, who was staring blankly at the ground, clenching his jaw, shoulders slumped. "Micha'el?" Lottie asked as the two girls tried to speak to him. "Let's go, I know the way" he said, lifting his face to give them a small smile, "and don't worry, I've got Octen."
Micha'el, Lottie, and Tsuna made their way together through the bustling street. No one seemed to pay them any attention, everyone knew where they needed to go, and paid little attention to anyone else. The occasional tent seller would attempt to attract their attention. First was a Fae, selling questionable potions, promising to give them glory. The next merchant had walked in front of them to try and give them Valiant gear. Micha'el threatened that seller that he would tell the Occult - a statement which quickly made the merchant leave them be. A third seller was a Therian, in werewolf form, who had attempted to get Tsuna's attention by offering battle-ready fabrics and enchanted garments that would withstand Therian transformation. Micha'el gave Tsuna the heads-up that the gear was likely taken from the fallen and was of no moral right to sell.

Tsuna MikiTsuna wouldn't allow Lottie to corroborate her claim to "riches" causing Malika to eye them suspiciously. Regardless, she commended her on her quick adaption of the environment, but refused to yield before her. She changed the subject, denying them accompaniment further into the Playground. Malika abandoned them before giving one last chunk of advice and antagonizing Micha'el once more. As she turned to disappear into the crowd of vendors, Tsuna saw a compacted leather item sticking out of her back pocket. Extending her hand out, her fingers clutched the edge of the item and it slipped from Malika's pocket as she walked away. Tsuna smirked knowing she had just stolen Malika's wallet, it had an embroidered dreamcatcher on the outside and was worn from ware. Inside was a few cards and decent wad of Octen, a picture of her with another woman. The woman had blonde hair and stunning blue eyes, and Tsuna could only conclude that this was Micha'el's mother. She closed the wallet shut as she turned to her teammates ready to get an ear full from Lottie.
She stomped childishly assuring Tsuna that she was far from rich, but her sister had money. Tsuna shook her head and looked at Micha'el whom appeared defeated. He was looking at the ground with shoulders slumped but snapped out of his haze ready to lead the way with Octen in hand. Tsuna devilishly held up Malika's wallet and opened it just wide enough to grab out the cash before Micha'el could get a glimpse at the picture. "I have Octen too. From a generous donor, of course." She fanned herself with the money gleefully before slipping it back into the wallet and placing it somewhere safe. "Don't worry, she knows where to look for us if she wants it back." She knew what she did was wrong and didn't really want to listen to their honestly lectures if they had any. This was the Playground after all, and rules of moral were kicked to the curb.
Together they strolled down the street and no one paid them no mind expect for the occasional merchant. A fae attempted to sell them potions of glory, another merchant intercepted them trying to offer them Valiant gear. Micha'el threatened to report him to the Occult and he took off in a flash. The third encounter was a Therian in werewolf form trying to coax Tsuna into purchasing battle-ready armour and enchanted garments that could withstand their transformations. As intriguing as the wares sounded, Micha'el warned her that they could belong to a fallen Therian and were illegal to sell. Tsuna declined, but when the Therian would leave she growled fiercely causing the merchant to flee with their tail in between their legs. They didn't want a fight because it would look bad for business so they figured the best tactic was to run. "They don't let up do they? It must be exhausting. Has it always been like this Micha'el?"

But no, take me home Take me home where I belong
But I kept runnin' for a soft place to fall And I kept runnin' for a soft place to fall
"Tsuna!" Micha'el scolded Tsuna in a hushed voice as she flashed Malika's wallet. At Tsuna's mention of Malika knowing where to look, Micha'el said "she most definitely will."
Tsuna fended off the last of the sellers that attempted to sell them goods. Micha'el was thankful that she took his warning. "Yes" Micha'el said begrudgingly, shoulders tensing, "it has. But its not much different to any other Greymarket. This place is just a little more up-front. Most other Greymarkets are a street wide, or the size of a a town square. The Playground is an entire district. Anyway. We're nearly there, the sooner we get out of here the better."
After only another minute or two, Team Sun arrived at their destination. Crescent Tents was a bit less literally than Lottie had imagined, but it was quite similar to how Micha'el had remembered it. It was a curved alleyway, in the shape of a crescent, where all the shops were contained with tents of purple sheets and died leather. Rugs covered the ground to give it a slightly more welcoming feel, though they were scattered around randomly to cover the floor. The street was still open up above, where Micha'el could see the hazy light of the sun attempted to break through into the crevasse these people worked in. Lottie looked around, astonished to see variously magical items or adverts. Words were scorched into tents, describing what the seller specialised in. Some runes hovered above the open entryways, inviting guests in. Others leaked smoke that smelled of incense and sometimes burnt flesh. Lottie's eyes then rested on one tent in particular that had bones hanging from rope all around it. Inside was a pale man with white hair, he had horns and a devilish grin on his face when he clocked her. Micha'el put his hand on her shoulder, pulling her slightly as he said "don't give them an excuse to speak to you." "Was he... Scarred?" she asked earnestly, turning to Tsuna with a worried expression. "Yes" he said, "a necromancer." That was enough information for both Tsuna and Lottie to understand what kind of operations took places in these markets. The Scarred were a race born of mortal and demon, a horrific, immoral union of two bloodlines. They were in constant war with mortals on Bloodholme. Necromancy was also outlawed by the Guildeam, with many other realms sharing the same stance. But it would seem someone of both backgrounds could still slip into a place like this.
"Here" Micha'el said, coming to a stop in front of a larger tent at the centre of the crescent. It the sheets of the tent were tightly held together using silver and gold robe. Micha'el led them inside. Lottie was amazed to find that the interior was larger than the exterior, only slightly, but it made all the different. There were several alcoves around them that contained portals, glowing a dull blue with a blackened centre. Micha'el recognised the shape of the portals, however the blackness was like peering into a a pool of black water. He then noticed at the back centre of the room was a small well made of stone. But it appeared to be upside down, with an unfathomly deep hold at the bottom, a small layer of brick around it, and then thin pillars around it the extended to the roof, where they came together to hold a pool of black, semi-transparent liquid that had the fainted violet hue at its edge. A thin trail of water fell upwards into it, before spilling over delicately. The dark water was then drawn towards the other portals, where it was pulled into the spiral of magic that held the portals around them open.
"Never seen an Inkwell before, kids?" a gruff voice said from the other end of the tent. There was a gentleman in fine clothes, typical of Victorian era but with a sort of gothic flair. The man had a black messy ponytail and pale, lilac skin. He had strong facial features, and an esteemed aura about him. He looked to be later in his life, but carried himself with gravitas as he stepped around his counter to eye them more closely. "I'm sorry" Micha'el said, "I've never seen one in person." "Yes... a marvellous gift from our vampire enslavers" the man droned, "what do you want, a portal back home?"

Tsuna MikiMicha'el begrudging told her the influences of the Playground, and although it's no different than any other Greymarket, this place was just more upfront. Luckily, they were nearing their destination which Micha'el was more than relieved to put this place behind him. The team soon stood in front of a cresent shaped alleyway, accordingly named Cresent Tents seeing stands covered in purple sheets and dyed leathers. Rugs were strewn about the ground attempting a pleasant appeal to its visitors. Light from above tried to break through the cloud coverage into the bazar, but failed miserably. The magical items and advents had Lottie entranced as the team sauntered through the ally. Words scorched into the tents gave an indication as to what the seller provided. Runes hovered above other entryways and some tents leaked incenses or the unmistakable smell of brunt flesh causing Tsuna to wrinkle her nose in disgust. Lottie was almost lured into a tent that had bones hanging from robes and a mysterious pale man with white hair and horns grinned devilishly to her. Micha'el heroically swept her away warning her that giving them a reason to speak to you basically sealed your fate down here.
Lottie innocently asked if he was a Scarred to which Micha'el confirmed and even clarified that he was a Necromancer. The Scarred were a mix of mortal and demon and were in constant battle with the mortals of Bloodholme. The Guildeam outlawed Necromancy and other realms sharing the same views, but the Playground doesn't care about backgrounds just business. If Tsuna still wanted to bring her Father back, she should have come here had she known about it, but sadly that ship sailed.
They finally stopped at a large tent in the center of the crescent. It was woven together by gold and silver rope and inside the exterior was massive compared to the exterior. All around them were alcoves containing different portals each glowing a dull blue with a blackened center. Each one was shaped differently, but the back one in the center of the tent was truly eye-catching. It was a small well made of stone that appeared upside down with a deep hold at the bottom. A small layer of brick was built around it and thin pillars above extended to the roof. They converged and held a pool of black, semi-transparent liquid with a faint violet hue at the edges. A thin trail of water flowed upwards into the pool which spilled over delicately and was drawn magically into the other portals to keep them open. A gruff voice belonging to a gentleman dressed in a Victorian area gothic style stepped out from the other side of the tent. He wore a black messy ponytail and a pale, lilac skin and looked to be in his later years considering how he addressed them as children. Yet the aura he omitted was wise and cunning, definitely asserting his dominance over the trio. Micha'el apologized for gawking since he'd never seen the portal in person and the man simply recognized it as a "gift" from his vampire enslavers. He then proceeded to mock them causing Tsuna to jump into defensive mode as she walked up to him and slapped some cash on the table. "A portal to the Land of Crows actually. Since we appear so helpless, why don't you make it fast, Old Man." She smirked obnoxiously knowing she wasn't gaining them any favors by acting this way, but she'll most likely end up surprising them. She never went on a mission unprepared and always knew how to improvise even in the worst situations.

"Ha!" the gentleman said, crossing his arms to stare the group down, narrowing his eyes on Tsuna as he stepped closer, towering over her. He was tall even for Daywalker standards. "Coming to my shop and making demands of me, is it not you who need my service?" he almost grinned, baring a vampiric fang, before raising a brow and straightening his face. "Respect your elders" he then continued, "especially when they're almost 100 years older than you." "We're so sorry Mr..." Lottie stepped forwards, unsure of what to refer to him as. He rolled his eyes and turned around, heading back to his counter. "Accart, Adélard Accart." His pronunciation of his name had a heavy French accent, but otherwise he spoke like any other Daywalker. He turned again on the other side and faced them, placing his fingers neatly together on the counter. "And where exactly would Madame like to go in the Land of Crows?" Accart leaned his head down inquisitively to Tsuna, "it's the largest realm in all of Occulas aftercall."

Tsuna MikiHe stood over the group intimidatingly trying to disregard Tsuna audacity to command such a statement. Baring his fangs he told her to respect her elders and even divulged how much older he was compared to them. She rolled her eyes and cheaply breathed out, "Respect? Isn't that a two way street?" It was clear he wasn't going to show any to Team Sun any time soon. Lottie interrupted politely which definitely snuffed out any respect they might have received if they continued to stand their ground. Luckily though, he told them his name, Adelard Accart, accompanied by his thick French accent. Taking his place behind the counter, he folded his hands and asked Tsuna exactly where she'd like to go within the Land of Crows. Accart was correct in it being the largest realm of Occulas, and she didn't have a destination in mind. By the way he was inquisitively acknowledging her, he was just waiting for her to slip up so he could get the jump on them. She smirked and tilted her head playfully, "Anywhere. I'm a gambling woman and made a bet with a friend that I'd succeed no matter what. Make me your best offer, Old Man." She didn't bother using his name again, continuing to stand her ground and earn the respect she deserves.

Lottie took a step back, letting Tsuna take the reigns in attempting to barter a deal. Micha'el on the other hand saw this as more of an interrogation and somehow Tsuna was turning the whole thing on its head. "Very well" he said, "in the middle of the Notchwood it is then" "That's not fair!Tsuna!" Micha'el exclaimed, suddenly controlling his outburst. He couldn't help himself though, the Notchwood was as far east as you could go in the Land of Crows before ending up back in Southern Occulas.
In that moment one of the portals groaned and gave birth to a tall Therian, stomping passed the team as Accart regarded the gentleman. "Welcome to The Playground!" He nodded, but the Therian paid him little notice. He returned to Tsuna and said "best offer, 2000 octen for a shortcut to the puny Southmarch Greymarket?"

Tsuna MikiShe should have figured that he would pull a fast one and send them out into the middle of nowhere. Micha'el clearly wasn't pleased nor should he be considered they were going to be sent to the furthest outpost. At that moment one of the portals groaned and a tall Therian emerged stomping past the over to Accart. The Daywalker welcomed him with open arms before turning to Tsuna offering one more alternative at a hefty price. Tsuna had one more trick up her sleeve, but knew the others weren't going to like it. The portal behind them was still humming, the one the Therian stepped out of and her best guess was that he came from Southmarch Greymarket hence why Accart made the sudden offer. "Sure thing." Tsuna replied happily before pausing. "Oh, do you mind if I have a cigarette? I've been trying to kick the habit, but when that urge comes, well you know." She pulled a pack of Ivan's cigarettes out of her pocket, but these weren't ordinary cigarettes. In fact, she had filled them with Ivan's illusion leaves and was only planning to use them in dire situations. She figured this would be a good time as any to test them out. Before Micha'el or Lottie could stop her, she turned a gave a small wink to both of them. "Don't go telling my dad. I'm already in hot water with him as it is. Guy can't give over that fact that I'm not his little girl anymore." Tsuna snorted and nudged the Therian next her. "Gotta light, Big Guy." Before he could answer or acknowledge her, she turned to Accart, stuck a stick between her lips, and dug through her pockets once again. "Hold on let me get the rest of the money," She pulled out Malika's wallet tossing it on the table before she pulled out a simple lighter. "Found it!" She exclaimed as she lit it and placed it up the cigarette eyeing Accart the entire time. As he got ready to dig through the wallet, she inhaled deeply, and blew out a giant cloud of greyish purple smoke right into Accart's face. Some might have drifted up to the Therian too, but once he started hallucinating, Tsuna took that as a time to run.
Flicking the cigarette downward, she turned to her teammates and pointed to the portal. Lottie was about to say something, but Tsuna scooped her up and threw her over her shoulder while grabbing Micha'el's arm and pushing him forward. "Go!" She shouted as the fled the counter over to the portal that was beginning to dim.

Micha'el's eyes widened as Tsuna pulled out a cigarette, and Lottie's face darted between her two teammates. Tsuna put on a show like some misbehaving daughter and Micha'el couldn't tell whether to go along with it or try to stop her immediately. Accart narrowed his brows and cared not for someone smoking in his premises, but Tsuna's sudden change made him suspicious. "Tsuna..." Micha'el hissed, but she continued. All they had to do was barter a deal and get a good portal, instead Tsuna was putting on some charade to get them all chased out of here. Lottie noticed the smoke as it lit, and gasped quietly as she covered her face to prevent breathing in the smoke. Micha'el began to breath heavily as he clenched his fists but before anyone could do anything else Tsuna finally let out a puff of the smoke towards the Daywalker. He was quickly taken by the drug, seeing illusions cast around him, the Therian too. Lottie was suddenly scooped up and Micha'el was forcibly dragged along by Tsuna towards the portal the Therian had come from - assuming it was leading to Southmarch. "You better be right!" Micha'el exclaimed as he jumped through.
The world turned black, sound dulled - then just as quickly Micha'el's foot touched solid ground.
