Tonight had been going well with the Russian blue in her usual spot on the fluffy collar of his uniform. He was used to it at this point even if she sometimes kneaded her paws into it and her claws picked at his skin. There were still a few patches of his skin that had never really gained feeling back after those alien pill bugs had gotten him with acid.
“I think tonight is going well Katya, maybe I can go home and surprise mon ange with a late-night visit.” Humming to himself he finished draining another person and watched as they slowly slumped backward on the bench they were on. Just enough to make them all sleep so he didn’t have to deal with them. He wasn’t one to starseed, he still didn’t really like all that since he’d had a hand in his chest more than once. At least one of those times hadn’t been a murder attempt at least.

Katya knew Kafka didn’t like fighting, and didn’t like the idea of getting into dangerous situations, unlike her general who seemed to thrive on the battlefield…or even against a single person. He rather enjoyed a good fight. She knew that such things weren’t for everyone though so she didn’t get upset, she wanted Kafka safe anyway, so she kept his signature hidden and joined him on his nights out. Even if Benitotie was out elsewhere in the city she would keep Kafka safe, keep his signature hidden, while they worked to gather energy.
He was hers to protect because he was a corrupt senshi…and because he meant a lot to her general.
He meant a lot to her then as well.
“I think that would be a very nice idea, he does enjoy your company.” It wasn’t just the physical things that the blond enjoyed but rather the simple, little, things that were everyday matters. “He’s likely to be awake, it’s still a bit early. I’m sure you could spend some time together before bed.” Perhaps watching something or even reading, even just talking.

It's been a minute since Aaru has been anywhere powered other than his wonder, so there was a look of surprise on his face when he thought he felt a chaos signature not even that far away from where he was currently standing. He wasn't entirely sure but better safe than sorry. Figuring he would have to go investigate, he started leaping from the roof of his father's [soon to be his] company hoping the negaverser would be non combative. Even Though he was skilled at fighting, trying to explain the bruises to your worrying husband was not an easy task. His eyes narrowed slightly when he saw what could only be described as a senshi the closer he became.
So his guess was actually correct?
How the hell was he hiding his signature? That was something new.
The sight of the passed out civilian caused a disappointed sigh to leave his lips and he approached the senshi carefully, not knowing that his magic is.
—--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hearing something, and then feeling something, Kafka turned quickly and saw someone from order. “Quoi?” They didn’t look like an alien at least but that meant… what did that mean again? A knight but what was it Alexandre had said they used…. Tinker toys? But that didn’t mean they couldn’t pick something else up to use instead. He didn’t like it either way as he raised a hand to pet Katya carefully.
“Anything you know?” Whispering softly to Katya, he eyed them carefully while taking just half a step back. Alexandre would worry if something happened or worse he’d come out here and make a mess in this alley with the knight ending up being a missing person or some sort of murder victim by morning. Both things he didn’t want to deal with so he had to figure out a way to just knock their energy out and scram. At least he could teleport but it still made him pass out if he went too far…
—-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Turning her own attention towards the figure, she had sensed them approaching, she pressed a small paw to Kafka’s cheek. “A knight.” She whispered, already worried about Kafka. He didn’t fight, he wasn’t her general, he was no fighter and yet she was certain there would be no escaping this. “They have magic…and the weapons aren’t really weapons. The items are weaker than an officer's weapons.” Running down what she knew, as quickly as she could, Katya kept her voice low but rapid. Best to give Kafka what information he needed now, and quickly, so he could handle this.
“If you can use your magic and avoid theirs…we can run for it and teleport close to home.” Because that would be the best bet for the both of them. She could also laser beam this knight in the face…and she would if she needed to. She’d never really needed to, she was certain it would be draining, but she was going to also keep this senshi safe above all others. This was her general's partner and she’d make sure he got home tonight.
—-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wow….
He's never seen a corrupted so on edge before, usually they were trying to kick his a** or something. His obsidian skull appeared in his hand and he started tossing it up in the air, leaning against a tree. “You know…That's a cool trick you have.” He wasn't sure if it was connected to the cat or the senshi, but he wasn't sure if he would get his answer tonight. He looked back in the direction the drained civilian was in, “I suppose I should lecture you on how wrong it is to drain civilians. But….” He sighed and kept tossing his skull, “I could kinda care less at this point. However, since Ive seen you…”
He removed himself from the tree, but didn't walk any closer, relying on the aspect of his wonder to keep him moderately cloaked and silent, wondering if he should get close enough to use his hallucination magic or if he should wait and see what the senshi and cat would do.
—-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Seeing a skull come out was the last thing he would have figured might happen tonight and he very much didn’t like it. Tensing up a bit more as his eyes followed the skull as the knight tossed it like some sort of hackeysack.
“I don’t like this… Merde…” He really wanted to get out of here but who’s to say they wouldn’t just catch up before he teleported? They way they spoke didn’t really make any of it better and then it was like the knight sort of faded away and he panicked a bit, stepping forward and hoping they were still in range and that his magic would actually work. “Consume…” Throwing his arms out, he still always flinched as a reaction even if his magic didn’t backfire anymore.
It didn’t seem to hurt Katya anymore either which was good because he needed to make sure she could keep him hidden so no other knights or senshi showed up. He didn’t want to call Beni because he didn’t want to see what would happen after that, it would not be pretty and he still wasn’t used to seeing it.
—-------------------------------------------------------
Keeping her hold on the others' uniform, so she wasn’t displaced, Katya shook her head slowly. “Keep a distance…I don’t know what his magic does. He also gets some gift from his planet, I don’t know what though.“ And that planet seemed to do the whole dark and goth theme pretty well. Between items and uniforms, colors typically, it was easy to tell which planet a knight was from. From there you could get some idea on the magic, even if it was vague. It always had some connection to the planet they were from.
“I know you don’t like this and I could call a certain someone…but I’m not sure you’d like that.” She was certain that while Kafka loved a certain small blond General, and said general loved the corrupt in return, Kafka also did not like seeing them fight. It got messy and things got a bit dangerous rather quickly. Watching as Kafka used his magic she did not feel a bit sorry for the knight - they deserved it. Being here and not just walking away from the two of them…it was a challenge and they got what they deserved. If she had to she would attack as well and put them in their place.
Woe to them if she needed to call on her General for help…
“You might want to give up this fight knight, it would be a wise choice to make. Turn and leave, let us continue as we are, and you won’t regret this night.” The only warning she would give the poor soul, they knew not who they were messing with.. Kafka might just be a super corrupt…but he had the ability to call on help and that help…was what this knight would not want to face.
—--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ah…Nice.
Aaru’s eyes narrowed as he suddenly was heavily out of breath, bending over while one hand grasped onto where his lungs would be. Nothing he wasn't used to when he was working out to fatigue his muscles. This meant it would be a bit hard to kick a** but he didn't take lightly to threats. Now, he wasn't going to do anything at first, but the cat apparently had a mouth on her and from what he could see, the thing was trying to protect the senshi she was perched on.
Well, since she wanted to talk s**t and give warnings….
Aaru knew his skull’s magic would not be able to reach the two of them if he ran it over, and he was also aware of the fact that the second stage bastards can teleport. So how would he get close enough to activate the skull? A thought of letting the corrupt drain him instead of the civilian came to mind but….Nah. That cat spoke like she had a lot of experience. Had the senshi been on their own he might've had a chance of that working.
So, he decided on the one thing that would give the most damage and get him close to the civilian so he could take off. Still hunched over, Aaru activated his skull’s magic then used his upgraded speed to get in close to the senshi, sounding like a ragged dog. All he would need is for the two of them to inhale the scent, have some horrid nightmares and then he could take off. Hell if it went according to plan, he wouldnt even have to hit the senshi with the full weight of his skull. Once he was close enough or at least felt like he was, Aaru waved the skull so that it was face to face with the senshi and cat, praying they inhaled the scent coming from it. “You senshi have a ******** hard time learning some sort of self defense skills don't you?”
If not then he didn't care either way, making his way over to the civilian on the bench while still huffing heavily.
—--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kafka gasped and stepped back as they ran at him even while they sounded like they were dying. Breathing must have been a bad idea because whatever that skull had coming from it was worse than if he’d been hit by his own magic again. In all honesty, he wished he’d been hit by his magic instead because he could just curl up and vomit and it would be over with.
He heard something about self defense but barely because the only thing he could focus on was a tattered and crumpled-looking figure with a mess of blonde hair stumbling close. It wasn’t Alexandre, it couldn’t be… it just couldn’t be. Stepping back more and more, until he crashed into the wall and gasped again. Closing his eyes against the horrible rotting vision before him he just wanted it to go away, he didn’t want any part of this. “No.. no no no mon ange.” Whining as he thought he could hear a wounded voice, he didn’t even know or care if that knight was around.
Sinking down to the ground he covered his ears to try and hide from the horrible death rattle he heard coming from the form that now stood right in front of him. He didn’t look, couldn’t bring himself to, but he knew it was there. “Ce n'est pas réel.” Shaking his head against it he just wanted it to go away, wanted it to not be real. If Alexandre could actually be here to wave this horrid magic away… His breath came quickly as he started to panic, wondering if this was some sort of sign of the future as he’d seen from that other senshi. That it would always end up with them hurt and killed where he couldn’t have done anything to stop it.
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
While Kafka breathed in Katya did not, she didn’t trust the knight coming at them. They were already suffering breathing difficulty due to Kafka’s magic - why were they getting closer? Why put themselves at a disadvantage and risk themselves? They had to have some magic that was potent and would do damage - enough to risk themselves in order to use it on them. Pressing her nose into the fur collar of the others uniform Katya was able to avoid whatever was affecting Kafka - she hadn’t seen what magic was working its wicked ways on him.
Hearing the corrupt Katya did what she could, while not looking up, and sunk her claws in as deeply as she could - to snap him out of whatever was going on. Benitoite wasn’t here, or as Rene called him…mon ange. Sinking her claws in she bite down as well, the fabric and layers would dull her claws and teeth but she hoped he’d feel something and snap out of whatever had a grip on him.
“We need to get out of here - teleport!” She shouted out, hoping to catch his attention. “Home!”
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Aaru simply shook his head at the panicking senshi, walking past them to collect the civilian on the bench. His breathing was coming back to him so he was able to just toss the person over his shoulder and take off. He would of course drop the civilian off by the emergency room just to be on the safe side. Energy draining can take a toll on the body and he would rather leave the person at the hospital than on that bench, his conscience would eat him alive at that point and he had enough to deal with.
