Kemi had been thinking about the pink girl and had decided to see if she could find her again. She wanted to ask more about where she was from, wanted to ask about when she had got here…it.
Was just so interesting. The amount of people, the different types of people on this planet it just.
Was wild.
She made her way back to the ally where they had met before, and when she saw the girl once again, her face broke into a smile and she hurried over, the wings on her head fluttered with her excitement.
“Hello! I have found you again, I was hoping to! Can we talk for a little bit?” She hoped so, and her tail swished behind her gently. She had been shedding slightly, and the tail wasn’t nearly as full as it should be, but…she was still proud of it…and honestly…was looking forward to the cooler weather so that she could show it off once again.
“It is I, Kemi!”

After what had happened the other day, Naeria was actually making sure to pay attention to the energy signatures on her ComTech. She knew that a senshi was getting closer to her, but until she looked up, she did not know that it was the senshi from the other day, with the tail like the Earth fox, Kemi. "It is I, Naeria," she replied, trying to reply in kind. She wanted to talk? Oh. Naeria's through went dry at that. She was not always good at talking. Still, Kemi had helped her earlier. "I will try to talk," she said. "Can you tell me, um, how you plan to help your world?"

Kemi laughed and nodded, moving closer. “I have absolutely no idea how to help it. The Wellspring…that from which all of the life flowed on my world…I…”
She gave a small, sad smile and sighed. “I have not gone back to my world. I have not tried to go back and…see what has happened in the moons that I have been gone…but…I will try…at some time. I don’t know if I can get stronger. I don’t know what I can do...but…my plan so far has just…been to collect allies. Make new friends…it was something I struggled with before. I was never…really good at cultivating allies…”
But now? Now she was doing so much better. She had Alcor, she had Arthur! There were so many people here that she cared about and honestly enjoyed being around…
It was wonderful.

No life from the Wellspring. Velenia had a similar problem, from what she knew. The life had just stopped. Kemi had a living and awakened senshi, so it was a slightly different situation, but, it seemed like there still might be some things that could be learned from this. "I could help you," said Naeria, blinking her big yellow owl-eyes. "I can not speak for my leaders. We have our own, um," she trailed off, the shyness coming back, "politics." She did not think she would get in trouble for this, though. It was research! "But I would like to help you find out more."

Kemi broke into another smile, the wings on her head flapping slightly in her excitement. “...I…would like that, but what if there is danger? Can you defend yourself?”
The smile faded as she recalled how Naeria had nearly been bitten by the youma…if she was so hesitant to defend herself…if it came to more than just thawing her planet…
“Can you show me how you can defend yourself? I will use my magic on you, if you permit. We can see how you react…have you been hit with magic before?”
She wanted the ally, but wasn’t sure what she could do…it was a simple task, wanting to find out…honestly, she wished to do this with all of the allies that she met and got to know.

"Yes," said Naeria. Maybe she wasn't the best fighter. Maybe her skills laid mostly in other areas, but she did not train as hard as she did to have a senshi think that she could not handle herself. She pulled her rifle from subspace and rested it on her hip. "I am a soldier," she said. "I will give you the first attack, and then I will show you my invention." She braced herself.

She liked this girl. She was nice, and honestly, Kemi hoped that they could be friends. True friends. “I will do so, please remember, that this is only magic, none of it is real…the magic…”
Kemi broke off and smiled sadly, before murmuring, “Deceit.” And blowing the magic towards Naeria.
She wasn’t sure…what the other woman’s invention could be but…she was a little curious.Stari_Maga Saying the name of her attack, Kemi blows outward and a fine mist extends as she does so. The mist can travel up to ten feet away from her and the magic can affect up to two people at this stage. The effects last for twenty seconds and can be used three times. When the mist touches a target, they are enveloped in a deceitful illusion where they feel as though they've been thrust into a moment in the future where they are suddenly in a situation where they are getting something they've always wanted. They will be completely immersed in the illusion, but if they are attacked they will snap out of it. Coming back to the present can be disorienting and leave targets with a sense of loss or failure, like their greatest desire was stolen from them.

As the mist enveloped her, Naeria began to see something. Commodo Lyndi. She was sprinting up to him, breathless. "I've found it,"
she told him, turning her tablet screen towards him. "I've found the way to save everything."It wasn't real, and Naeria found herself ripped unceremoniously back to reality with a jolt and a heavy heart. She wished, deeply, that they were at that point, that her friends no longer had to fight each other, that her people were no longer in danger. They were not at that point, though. Not yet. She nodded, and took a deep breath. Then, she fired a bolt at Kemi. "It is designed to disorient," she said. "For protection, but not for harm." Orangeish Sherbert The bolts are programmed with the chemical structure of certain mushrooms and have mild hallucinogenic properties. A single target hit with the bolt might see colors shift and lines blur for 10 seconds on impact, making it difficult for them to aim their own attacks.

For the first time, she was feeling guilty for her magic. She was feeling bad for the look of sadness on her friends….on Naeria. They weren’t friends...not yet. Not quite.
Still.
She allowed the bolt to hit her, curious at the weapon, and curious…
Oh. There were things moving…that shouldn’t be. The colors were blurring slightly and she stumbled, taking a step forwards. “Oh. You…made this? That is…impressive.”
Kemi was sure that she did not enjoy the effects, and shook her head trying to clear it. “That…is uncomfortable, Naeria.”

It was always interesting to see how people reacted to her weapon. The humans, in particular, had a tendency to enjoy it. Sometimes they even asked Naeria to use it on them again. Naeria frowned, though, as Kemi seemed to have the opposite reaction. "It will wear off in a few seconds," she said. She stood awkwardly for those few seconds, waiting for Kemi to regain her bearings. She thought that her gun was nearly as effective of a distraction as a the senshi's magic, and it also recharged faster. "What do you think?" asked Naeria, once they both seemed fine again. "Do you trust that I can handle danger?"

Kemi nodded and gave a soft laugh. “I do trust that you can take care of yourself. It is…so interesting that…you created this? You create your own defenses?”
It wasn’t anything that she had heard of before, and honestly…she wanted to know more. This…was something truly new...like the Senshi who were filled with Chaos…this…was something new…and again, she wondered at how interesting the Earth was.
“Would you like to go and get food with me? I would like to talk more with you, and I hope that we can be friends? I…”
She hesitated and powered down, the glamour hiding her wings and tail and making her look much more normal. “I can hide my looks, and I am going to assume you can too?”

"Yes, I created it," said Naeria, glad that she had passed Kemi's inspection. She smiled, proudly, once, and then let the gun vanish into subspace. When Kemi took on a more human appearance, she did as well. Her skin changed from pinkish-lavender to tan, and her ears took on that awkward round shape. She still found that small difference odd, almost itchy, but there were times when there was no getting around using the glamour. "I can tell you more. I would like to hear more about your mission, as well." She was easier to talk to than the humans, Naeria was finding. She had been nothing but kind, and the case of her world was curious. "Let us get some food."
