The main attraction of the Carnivale is almost certainly the booths ably representing their associated clubs. These kiosks are staffed by club members, student volunteers, and perhaps the professors who sponsor them. For the kids and those young at heart, there are games to play, with a traditional Ring Toss sponsored by the Astronomy Club, and there are several tables set up for those who wish to partake of a game of chess, run by the Hogwarts Chess Association, and a number of family table games handled by the Adventurer’s Guild.
Additionally, the Creature Appreciation Club is running a petting zoo, where folk have the chance to get to know the more friendly magical creatures just a little bit better. The Herbology Club has a booth where one can purchase a plant of their own (nothing too dangerous to be sure), along with larger and more valuable specimens, accompanied with an instructional booklet on the care and feeding of their acquisition. In addition, the club will offer conducted tours of the greenhouses, as well as Idun Llwyn, the student grove.
The Art Club has several booths set up as an art exhibit, as well as having pieces for sale. Of note is the limited-edition Art Club artbook, featuring copies of creations from Art Club members, past and present. There is a nice-sized photo booth with absurd-looking props for folks to use. This is a chance for people to get dressed up and get some pictures taken by the staff of our ‘Daily Dragon’, the official student -run newspaper. While the Namaste Club is offering basic yoga and meditation demonstration to teach means of relieving stress prior to the impending exams week. Finally, the Astronomy Club has telescopes for those wishing to peer into the mysteries of the Universe, and learn about the solar system and the constellations.

Summer knew exams were soon to be knocking on the door. However, she wasn’t going to concern herself with it yet. Her mind didn’t want to go there as it meant the year was almost over and her Hogwarts journey would come to an end. It was bittersweet to say the least. Summer could be sad later, she wanted to enjoy her free time until then. Walking along the booths, the seventh year was curious what everyone had going on. She knew Herbology club had something among the many booths. If she could contribute to the club before her time was up, she’d happily do so. Course she’d first have to find the booth in question. There was definitely a lot of interesting things to catch her eye along the way.

Tàmhas was excited to see the culmination of all the work the Prefects had been doing. He had many clubs under his belt, but he figured Healthy Haunts didn't particularly have anything for a booth, though it would be helpful to afford some helpful books and such. Art of the Sword could do a few demos, but with Liv's help, he could spend time doing those and still have time to wander. For now, he was with the other of his clubs, sitting atop the table at the Herbology Club's booth. He was singing a little Scottish song as flowers around him seemed to dance in their pots.

His hands were busy in making fancy flower crowns in all sorts of fun colors. Úna was sitting in the flowers atop his own head, idly playing with his curls as he bobbed around. Hopefully some of his other clubmates would show up to provide further company. It was always nice to have friends around, after all! Tàm was hopeful that everything this weekend would work out, especially considering how hard everyone had worked on it. There had been a lot of effort between everyone's work, and he was sure it would be lovely. Maybe, just maybe, Nic would join him so he could spend time with his boyfriend for a bit. At worst, he'd dip out and find the Gryffindor so they could just wander together. It was supposed to be about having fun, even for those that were working, anyway.

Brianna Cathaline Quinn-Smith Slytherin │ Seventh Year │ Seventeen Years Old │ Single │ Slytherin Prefect │ Dueling Club Captain │ Quidditch Captain
Brianna was in a good mood this weekend. After busting her tail all year, she was seeing the end of at least one of her commitments, and seeing what came of it. She’d had her doubts when she found out her rival earned the Head Girl post, especially when she was already planning things for the coming school year before summer break even had a decent chance to get started. However, she couldn’t deny her silver-haired fellow’s sincerity and drive to see this whole thing through and make it happen. It was enough so, that she offered to get everything associated with the Quidditch segment of the Carnivale squared away, in addition to doing her share of the preparations as the outgoing Captain of the Dueling Club.
The Seventh Year Slytherin was enjoying the warm weekend, putting aside worries about grades and exams at least for a little while, which was the whole point of this exercise. Rather than the sombre, quasi-Goth appearance she took on when she was dueling, Brianna was wearing a bright fuchsia sleeveless blouse, paired with a cream-coloured pleated short skirt, and wedge-heeled sandals, while her long, buttery blonde hair was simply brushed back and allowed to flow over her shoulders. Almost certainly, she was having more fun with this incarnation of the Carnivale than its spiritual predecessor third years previously, and with good reason.
Going along the rows of the booths, Brianna was walking towards the Herbology Club’s area. Guilt tugged at her heart that she hadn’t devoted as much of her energies towards this club’s efforts as she had the others, despite being a senior club Mentor. As she got closer, she was able to pick out Tam’s familiar voice, and her heart eased hearing him singing. Seeing him, she nearly did a doubletake, and then chuckled softly, as she realized his bowtruckle companion was also there playing in his hair. Moving over so she could help him run the booth, she smiled wistfully as she asked him, “What are you singing? It’s so pretty.”

Nic had been busy with Prefect duties mostly so far for the festival but he was now determined to make it up for what he counted as the hottest guy in school. Nic was biased but he knew what some of his classmates were thinking. Maybe he did because he had some of those thoughts too. The difference was that Tàm was Nic's boyfriend not theirs. As for himself he knew he was a catch but wasn't so vain to listen for what was or wasn't said about himself.
As he strolled through the carnival booths he heard a familiar voice singing. A grin grew on his face though he was a hair disappointed that Brianna beat him to Tàm first. Fair enough, Nic could share.
He casually moved to drape an arm around the smaller Tàm as Brianna asked about the song. Nic still smiling said, "He has a pretty great voice, right? What song was that? I don't think I've heard that one."
For a moment the hat was silent before speaking.... Ah, but this nose doesn’t need to poke too far To see that behind that distrustful warning You’d do quite well in Gryffindor!

Tàmhas was happily lacing a few roses together, having carefully dethorned them (so as not to poke people in the head!). He was swaying along to the song he was singing, happy that his emotions had been well enough to feel good about things again. As people walked by, he greeted them, though he seldom skipped a beat. It was a lovely, sunny day, which only served to boost his mood. As one walked up, Tàm looked up to see Brianna there. He grinned over toward the blonde, happy by her question. He was about to answer when his shoulder was claimed by Nic. The Gryffindor restated the question, but with the added compliment, Tàm's freckled cheeks flushed a bit.
"Guid day Brianna, 'n' guid day tae ye, Nic~ a'm gey glad ye asked! Tis an auld Gaelic song that, in sassenach, is cried 'My Heart's Fair Loue. Th' lyrics gang lik' this,

Translating definitely made his ears join in the blushing. Why had his brain defaulted to a love song? Quick, he needed to distract the situation! With a final knot, he gently set the flower crown atop her head. "Thare we gang. It looks bonnie oan ye. 'n' dinna fash yirsel, ah made yin fur ye tae." Green eyes sparkled in the sunlight as he reached for a flower crown he'd specifically done for Nic. With a lean against him, it was set on his head, followed by a small smooch to the taller teen. "Bonnie perfect~"

Hesperia had heard a great deal about the feast in the Great Hall and very much intended to check it out in a little while, but first she wanted to walk through the booths outside, set up by Hogwarts' many clubs. There was an alternative reason for her being out here too; she was hoping to bump into a certain third year from her house. She stopped by the art booth to admire some of their displayed artwork, then continued on to look at everything. The brunette was wearing her sunglasses because the light outside was very bright and it hurt her half-vampire eyes. She hummed a happy tune as she moved between the booths, looking over everything. There was also a petting zoo, which was something that interested the brunette, though most animals could sense what she was and avoided her or outright freaked out when she approached them. After all, she was scent coded as a predator. That stunk for her because she really liked animals, but she had already come to accept that she'd just have to appreciate them from afar. Hes huffed a little sigh, then moved on from the little zoo to wander some more, still hoping that she bumped into Kasimir so she could invite him to join her inside for the feast.
For the first time in weeks, Nora felt relaxed. She’d made sure she’d had the day free from work to attend the club Carnivale. It wasn’t that she had really missed Hogwarts since graduating, but being back was somehow comforting. Especially given recent events in her life. She brushed a blonde lock of hair from her face and put on her sunglasses. The weather was luckily cooperative, which was good. She needed the sun. She was starting to resemble members of that vampire delegation she and the Minister had met with the other day.
Nora strolled down the rows of booths, peeking plenty of familiar faces, after all, by her seventh year she’d been involved in pretty much every club at the school. As much as she loved that, she didn’t miss it. Sure she was busy with work, but that was one thing to be busy with instead of 400 things. Either way, today she was free. She had no booths to run and she was here to enjoy herself, not obsess over work. She would just see where the day took her.

A busy, busy carnivale, full of people. What was she to do? Somewhere in, she was sure Kai or Simon would show up. They were both invited, anyway. Then again, their whole family was. Hopefully they'd show... but for now, she was going to view the animals. Care of Magical Creatures was a fun class... and she had something of a crush on the leader of the Magic Creatures club too.
As she made her way through the booths, Everly looked around at everything. It seemed like everyone was here and all the clubs were doing some great things. It was all very fun for sure. Most of the way to her destination, Everly hesitated. Oh lordie, what was she supposed to say here? Maybe she should've consulted Ruth or.... anyone, really. She was definitely not the person to think up witty banter. Walking over toward Noah, Everly tried to speak up. "S-sorry I don't have my goggles, but hopefully that's fine?" Oh god. That was far from the correct thing to say. She immediately smacked her palm against her forehead, wishing the ground would just... open up and swallow her whole. Why was she so much weirder than normal humans?!

🍀☯🌷☮Hearing about the carnival, Lyric was immediately intrigued and excited to go and then when he heard that there would be club booths, that only cinched his decision more. Of course he wanted to enjoy all that the festival had to offer but he thought it best to at least help out in the few clubs he was affiliated with before completely getting lost in the fun. Which lead him to walking towards the Herbology booth with a handful of flower crown accessories as well as more origami paper stars because at this point, it was either give them away or flood the common room and even he admits it's gotten out of hand since starting to find them in his sock drawer of all places. Plus he'd managed to charm them a bit to sparkle so it wasn't like it they were all boring!
Lyric spotted Tàmhas already there and in full swing with the flower crowns, even wearing one as he sang very pretty songs. He'd made his own crown to wear and gave the leader, Nic, and Brianna waves and hellos' as he made his way over with his goods not wanting to interrupt the singing. "You sound really good! Though I can't tell if the song is happy or sad." the young teen frowned a bit but ultimately just shook it away. "Oh, I brought more stuff! Not that I didn't think you had enough I just yknow, variety? And I brought more stars because I have way too much and I'm starting to think I have a problem." Lyric gave a nervous chuckle as he pulled out two new full jars of paper stars to give away. Maybe he could stick them on crowns as added decoration...

Kasamir Aloysius Patrovna Slytherin │ Third Year │ Thirteen Years Old │ Single │ Chess Club Captain
Kasamir was taking a bit of a well-deserved break to have a look about at the other booths and events at the Carnivale. He was amazed by what the other clubs and their members managed to pull off, including the Adventurer’s Guild and the Quidditch Team. He knew he was going to be busy during the whole Carnivale, as he was to reenact the epic and iconic 1992 match between Ronald Weasley and the giant Wizard’s Chess set which was set-up down in the catacombs beneath the school, as well as a ‘What-if’ battle of wills he developed using matches between Boris Spassky and Bobby Fischer as the basis. He played out the match using an Artificial Intelligence while he was on break, as suggested by Brianna, and selected the most visually appealing one for the demonstration.
The Hogwarts Chess Association had a booth as well, where he was showing interested parties how to play, while selling prepackaged chess sets (non-magical, as well as enchanted ones), and he was raffling off a rather expensive Wizard Chess set. He wasn’t expecting for Miss Linsey to showcase his young club as much as she had, but she explained that since it was so new, it needed the chance to be showcased. She even designed the sweatshirts and Tee shirts for the club, which he was wearing right then. The shirt featured a stylized ‘duel’ between a Knight and a Queen, echoing the climax of Ronald Weasley’s game, the Knight Sacrifice. She used Cyrillic lettering to create the club’s name, and the caption ‘It’s your move’
He hoped Aunt Faina might return to England in time that she might see what he’d been up to, but there was no getting away from her casework in St. Petersburg for so great an amount of time, and as such Aunt Katya and Cousin Serghei and Aunt Reyna were here in her stead. For right now, he would be content were he able to locate a certain brunette Housemate. He looked forward to seeing her, and not because he was seemingly perpetually keeping the Bludgers away, though he’d yet to quantify a reason why. What he did know though was spending time in her company was preferrable to….
‘There she is,’went through his mind, and his mood immediately brightened for spotting Hes as she walking away from the petting zoo. Straightening up, and making sure he didn’t look a sluff, he walked over towards her. “Hes, I was hoping I’d find you,” he said, with a smile, as he got closer, hoping Aunt Katya didn’t pick right then to appear.

Noah was excited to be running the Creature Appreciation Club booth this year. There were few things he loved more than, not only magical creatures but teaching people about them. He’d managed to wrangle a decent selection of creatures this year. There was a mooncalf, a niffler, porlocks, and a whole gaggle of puffskeins, amongst others. There was also a little bowtruckle crawling around on Noah’s shoulders. He was feeding the bowtruckle a handful of woodlice when he heard another voice. His head immediately shot up when he realized who was speaking. His ears went slightly pink as he met Everly's eyes.
For a moment he couldn't quite connect his brain to his mouth and it ended up with his staring. Then the little bowtruckle reached out with one of its needle-like fingers and poked him in the cheek. "Ow," he muttered, but it had done the job. When he managed to speak again he said, “The goggles are nice, but I can see your eyes better like this.” He tried his best to put on what he hoped was a smooth smile. Apparently, a bowtruckle was a good wingman.
Time: 2062-2063 Wearing: Sporty day Out ------------------------------------------------------------------------xx
Emily was almost overwhelmed by the crowd around her at the booths (and everywhere else). She had gained confidence in her time at Hogwarts and though Cai had already graduated - her half brother and unexpected mentor in her first two years at Hogwarts - she was confident enough to get lost in the crowds. She felt a fit at Hogwarts and much at home. Her mother was right that she was prettier than average, she did inherit much of her mother's good looks that did not extend to her soul, even if in Emily's opinion her mother was wrong about her pink hair ruining those looks. Her pink hair was just a part of her story as a witch. And she was a witch whether her mother liked it or not. She was the one to pick out her father to exploit it was as much her mother's fault she was a witch as whatever genes her father carried.
Regardless, Emily was going to have fun. She was busy shopping at a jewelry booth looking at bracelets with interesting plant designs and magical creatures. She knew Cai said he was going to stop by the carnival but Emily had not crossed paths with him. She really didn't want to be a bother as a kid sister either. She was sure she would find a friend or a club member to visit with eventually.

Everly was... very nervous about her words with Noah. She definitely should have rehearsed this with just about anyone. Ruthie, Kai, even Simon would be fine and he didn't talk! (well, he did talk, but like... not very often. She'd only heard him like twice!) Heck, even mom or dad would be good! Well... maybe not. She was pretty confident that she had gotten most of her awkwardness from her parents.... most specifically dad. It... was a sad life to lead indeed. Especially since she'd provided the worst possible opening line.
It was about then that (thankfully) Noah responded, though only after getting poked in the face by a bowtruckle. His line was far better and caused Everly's cheeks to heat up in a blush. "Yea, prescription goggles do nothing for the looks. They make me look like a fish!" She giggled, wishing she just got the goggles that went over her glasses... too bad her family was all supportive and stuff. Aha... "Though, I will say not having goggles works best for everyone. I mean, look at your eyes." Everly sent over a grin, hoping her flirting came across as such, rather than him think she was just the most awkward human alive.

After having wandered around for a little while, Hesperia decided she might wander over to the chess club. Wizard's Chess was a big favorite of hers, but for some reason that alluded her, she'd yet to join the chess club. But maybe she'd find Kasimir over there. She turned away from the petting zoo, she saw Kas looking over at her. The brunette felt a little flutter in her chest and a small grin creased her lips. A light tinge colored her cheeks when he started to walk towards her; the brunette flattened her dress a little, then fixed her bracelet. He said that he was hoping to find her and she blushed a little more, then glanced down at the ground for a second. Looking back up, she smiled widely, her fangs showing a little in her smile. "Oh, hey Kas... Kasimir... Kas. I was, uh, hoping to find you too," she said, before letting out a little nervous laugh. Nervously, her leg fidgeted and her foot dug into the grass a little. Her sunglasses scooted down her nose a little bit and her brown eyes became visible over the lenses. "I was, uh, wondering if you'd want to go inside to the feast at the Great Hall with me?" She smiled at him, not even caring that her fangs were showing more. Whenever she was around him, she just wanted to smile and she didn't even worry about the fangs. He made her smile and she wanted to smile.
