Sadie enjoyed her time as Targovishte, and she wouldn’t trade Belmont for anything or anyone, but sometimes it was nice to just…forget about her other life. Sometimes it was nice to just be Sadie for a while.
The music in the club was on the edge of being too loud, but in the best way possible, and she let the music dictate her movements as she let herself simply be, moving and running a hand through her long, dark hair.
And finally, there it was. Sadie’s eyes closed and she just allowed herself to feel, moving in time to the music entirely, at least up until the moment she bumped right into someone else…throwing both of their grooves off.
Well, s**t. That hadn’t been her intention and she looked at the colorful haired young woman and gave a sheepish smile. “Sorry about that. Got a little caught up in the music…want to dance?”
That was the best way to turn such a blunder into a win, and honestly, with a beat this good…who could refuse.

Zenner had gone to the club to try to shut off her brain and forget about her troubles for a night. She had indulged in a couple of drinks to loosen her up a bit and then she hit the dance floor. She was already lost in the music when she was bodied by a woman who was also not paying much attention. She was about to snap at the other woman when she asked if Zenner wanted to dance. She was pretty and Zenner was already buzzed so she nodded in agreement. “I would love to. Think you can keep up?” She said confidently.

Sadie laughed, feeling pleased and quite glad that she had bumped into someone who actually wanted to dance with her, though, she had the nerve to ask if Sadie could keep up, which…was funny enough that she ended up laughing again, wrapping her arms around the vibrant haired girl’s neck.
“I know I can keep up, and I only hope that you can too. I’m Sadie. Can’t say that I mind having such an interesting partner to dance with. It’s been rather lonely tonight, in all honesty, and nobody has seemed to be worth my time, I hope that you are.”
She began moving once again, grinning as she did so, pleased to have found someone so easy to look at, not to mention confident and self assured.
A win/win if Sadie had ever seen.

Orangeish Sherbert Zenner chuckled and rested her hands on Sadie’s hips as they danced, pulling her in to dance closer. studied the other woman as they danced, taking in the harsh green shade of her eyes and her large mass of long dark hair. The way their bodies moved together with the music distracted her for a moment and she looked up to find Sadie smiling at her. She took an opportunity to spin Sadie around and dip her gently before she spoke. “I usually am, but I guess you’ll have to be the judge of that. Hopefully I’ll make it worth your while. Can I get you another drink?”

Sadie grinned and looked pleased with the flirting and the dancing and the offer of another drink and she nodded. “I absolutely wouldn’t say no to one, especially if it means more time spent with you, which is just the icing on the cake, so far as I’m concerned. You’re a fantastic dancer.”
Walking back over towards the bar, Sadie thought for a moment and pulled out her phone, setting up a new contact space and held it out towards the other woman. “If you’re interested in an actual friendship, feel free to put your number in, and if you’re just looking for a fun night at the club, that’s perfectly fine too. All up to you, cutie.”
Though, she hoped for the friendship. Even if nothing ever went further than that, having normal friends was good. Healthy.
Fun.

“Not too bad for having a bum leg huh?” Zenner said, tapping her bad knee. In the club lighting, you could just barely make out the scar from her surgery, but you could see a faint line if you looked closely. She took Sadie’s phone and started walking to the bar as she put her number in. “Just text me so I have yours.” Zenner handed the other woman her phone back, ordered another drink and asked the bartender to put whatever Sadie wanted on her tab. “I’m always happy to make new friends, although a fun night at the club is always good too. What’d you come here looking for?”

“I would have never noticed anything bum about any of you, Zenner. But, I came here to just forget about life for a little while. There’s just so much that goes on and I needed some Sadie time.”
Fiddling with her phone, she sent Zenner a quick text and took a selfie of herself while she was at it just so there would be a photo for if and when they both forgot who one another were.
“What about you? Just come to dance the night away? Meet some fun new people or just clubs in general. I realize that this was half answered by your question, but still…back at you.” She winked and sat on one of the bar stools, looking almost thoughtful and held her phone up to Zenner. “Say cheese!”

Zenner sat on the stool next to Sadie and looked up to find her phone in her face. She puffed out her cheeks and crossed her eyes for the photo, laughing after it was taken. “Believe it or not, I came for the same reason. My life’s pretty boring so I have to find fun where I can, and if I can’t find it I have to create it for myself. Zenner pulled out her phone and saved Sadie’s number with her photo. “If you don’t let loose and have fun every once in a while, what’s the point of even living at all?” “Since we’re on the topic, what do you do for work? Or hobbies? Or both?”

“I’m still working on my Masters in Business over at DCU, but on the side I’m a model.” Sadie tossed her long hair over her shoulder and waggled her eyebrows. “I’m sure you can believe it…but honestly, I don’t want that to be like…my life’s only purpose. I want to get into…something. I enjoy numbers a lot. I’m hoping to be a CPA or something like that whenever I finish this degree. I will be the first to admit I’m taking way too long with it, and even I can see that but…”
She shrugged. “You can’t rush perfection so I’m only doing one class at a time to make sure I do it right.”
There was no real prize for finishing quickly, at least. And she had money from her photoshoots so it wasn’t that she needed to break her neck working.
“What about you?”

“Of course you’re a model. It’d be a shame to keep all of that” she said, gesturing broadly at Sadie “to yourself.” “I’ve thought about college, but I haven’t decided what I’d want to do yet so right now I’m a Front End Coach at the Walmart a couple blocks from here. Which is just a fancy way of saying that I get to get yelled at by customers all day, but I can handle that. Better that I get yelled at than some 16 year old trying to earn some extra pocket money or the woman working three jobs to support her family.” “So I know what you do for work. What do you do for fun?”

“Oh nice!” Sadie grinned. “I bet you handle those Karens with ease. You seem like you’d be one to do so, unless I’m really reading you wrong.”
She didn’t think so but, hey. She could be! “As for what I do for fun, well, you’re doing it with me right now. I love partying. Clubs. Dancing. Honestly I could dance all night if I had the chance to. Plus it lets me meet neat people like you.” Winking, Sadie took a sip of her drink and then yawned. “I might head out though, starting to get a little sleepy, I wish I could do what I did when I was just a baby and stay out all night but…alas. Age.”

Zenner chuckled and quickly finished her drink. “I feel that. I did a lot of partying when I was younger and I loved it but I can’t handle all of that anymore.” She hopped down off of her stool and held her hand out to Sadie. “If it’s not too forward, could I walk you home? I hate the thought of you out on the streets all by yourself. This city can be dangerous after all. Call it the buddy system if you want.”

Sadie grinned, nodding. “I’d love that, honestly.” Knocking back the last of her drink, she stood and held her hand out to Zenner, looking pleased. “I can call you an uber or something when we get to my place so that you get home safe.”
It was the least she could do…and honestly, if Zenner wanted to stay the night, then that would work too but…she wasn’t going to push.
