There’s no logical explanation to it, but logic has nothing to do with it if you pay enough attention. Sometimes, the trees seem to move--more than just how the wind manipulates them. Sometimes, a particularly mangled tree with sharp bark and long, clawlike branches will stand out amongst the others. It isn’t always in the same place, and it isn’t always alone. They can look like normal trees–until they don’t. And by the time you notice, you’re too close to stop them. In the blink of an eye, they’re upon you. They don’t quite run as much as they do slither, and their branches are always longer than they appear. Especially when they are slashing at you or trying to squeeze you. Some of the trees have strangely human shapes molded into them, covered in dark bark. Hopefully it’s just your imagination but you really shouldn’t try to find out what happens if one of them manages to catch you. Any area with one of these trees will feel unnaturally heavy, and when they have congregated it feels exhausting, as if they are draining the energy right out of the air–and you. They fear only fire and seem to feel pain; if you hack at their branches or peel their bark, they bleed. If in too much danger, they will flee into the trees. Once you lose sight of them, it’s impossible to find them again–unless they want you to. Note: If you choose to encounter these strange tree-like monsters, your character will recognize they are not youma. The trees either do not understand or do not care to listen to human words. It will always disappear back into the forest before it can be caught or killed, and if any bark or branches are broken off of it then these will quickly wither and petrify. Under close scrutiny they appear to be normal wood though they do not match anything Earth has seen and when dated may seem to be up to two hundred years old. This RP can be used as a battle requirement as long as there are two powered characters involved; you must be interacting with another player’s powered character. This does not count as the ‘one youma battle’ per stage for growth. This can only be used as a battle requirement once per character, but there is no limitation for how many times a player can use this prompt. Even if your character falls unconscious or becomes trapped by the tree, they must be rescued, either by someone else or a bystander. They may wake up somewhere else, away from the trees and with no explanation, but they will feel exhausted and will be nutrient deficient. Sasha was up late again, always finding it hard to sleep with Ian slept since he'd always slept when the sun was up. It was exhausting but he didn't think it would be good to mess up their sleep because of his own internal clock. So in an attempt to keep from waking them, he tried to sneak out again to go out into the city and it's sparse forests to look for new flora he had never really seen before. Once he made some distance from the property, he powered up and hid as best as he could along the tree lines to keep from being spotted by random people who might be out at night. He'd rarely come across anyone but it was always a worry that he might bump into that odd feeling chaos that had taken root here. It wasn't the same as what had happened back home which was maybe why life was still here and people like Chaldene had been reborn in a way. It was still a bit hard to wrap his head around, that and all the weird rules humans had and the interactions between people. Shaking his head, he kept on wading through the waist high foliage as he picked a few leaves here and there to nibble on or tuck into his subspace.

Ian knew it was hard for the other but he couldn't help it, he worked during thr day. He stayed up as late as he could, spending time with the other whenever he was up, he even powered up once and brought the other up to space. Ian felt like he was making progress, doing things that he perhaps should be doing.
Tonight he'd stayed up a bit, letting the other play a game on his computer, Ian had helped them as he could. He was still getting Sasha used to his computer and gmaing on it, he was thinking of getting the other a game consol so he could play things on the tv as well. After tiring himself out, though not Sasha, Ian had gone to sleep and he would have stayed asleep if the other hadn't slipped out of bed and headed off.
Ian was a light sleeper and trailed aftrer the other at a distance. Sleepy, yawning, and following the other he sighed as he saw them powering up. Yawning, again, he wondered if he should power up as well. Slippers, he'd own slippers, as he followed the other. It was when they got close to the woods that Ian finally powered up and moved to catch up to the other. "Are you out looking for medicine or food?" He questioned, a light glow coming from bits here and there on his uniform. He stood out, more than he wanted with his uniform but here and now it wasn't such a bad thing.
"We're a ways from home...you should have someone with you - to keep you safe." To catch any energy signatures headed their way before it arrived. Chaldene could pick up on signatures before the other could...ensuring some better level of safety. Yawning the eternal senshi moved thorugh the high foliage toawards the other.

Sasha jumped, making an odd noise halfway between a yelp and a shout as Ian found him. He'd had a leaf in his mouth as they'd mentioned things but it now fluttered back towards the ground. "Both... sorry." Feeling bad that he woke them up, he'd tried not to wake them since they needed the sleep. It was just hard not to break his habit of wandering and gathering things even if it wasn't his job anymore, even if all the other Erinomans were gone. Watching the little glowing wisps, he moved closer to them and nodded. "Okay, I'll hurry." Pulling them along, he made his way towards the forest, periodically picking leaves off the bushes and shoving them in his subspace to grab before he went in the house. Something started to feel off as he stepped into the tree line, he'd been full of energy right before but now he felt odd. Almost like a heavy blanket had been put over him.

"It's ok, you can finish that leaf." Having seen it flutter from the others mouth, and land on the ground. "Just keep in mind, especially when you grab from peoples property or even commercial property, that people put chemiclas on plants and things to keep bugs from them. Here is safe, no one is going to do that to a forest." He would see about getting the other information on that, so he could watch himself and keep safe, he didn't want to the other to poision himself by accident with pesticides or other chemiclss people used.
Following along Chaldene let his longer legs bring him up to the others side, rather than being dragged behind his fellow senshi. "This place feels off...it's silent - too silent. Shouldn't there be birds...or at least cicada or something making noise. I don't even see fireflies." Which was strange - all of it. It didn't feel right not seeing, or hearing, those things. "If your going to keep going we should move slow..."

Sasha blinked, a bit confused by what they were saying. "Chemicals?" Picking another leaf from a different bush, he nibbled on it as he looked around the trees. Something was off, just as Ian said and he kept close to the taller senshi. "Not good..." Something moved in his peripheral and he jumped again, bumping into the other as he tried to see if he could feel any of those youma things here but nothing like that felt like they were close. It took a moment for his eyes to adjust in the darkness but the little wisps around the other illuminated some of the trees as they lazily floated around. One of the trees seemed wrong, it looked warped and twisted, almost like it wasn't wholly a tree but had something evil and wrong with it. Hesitantly, he moved towards it to take a look, the leaves on it looking particularly appetizing despite the bark looking vile and wrong. It reminded him of some of the trees back home, the ones that had been warped by chaos but he didn't feel any of that here.

"Yes, people use toxic chemicles to keep bugs from destroying their plants. Those same chemicles might make you sick. So nothing from someones yard - just incase." This was fine of course, it was a forest, but peoples laws weren't safe for the other to go nibbling from. He would talk to Xander, or maybe Lily, and see if anything was use do nthe plants growing on the property. He'd never cared to ask or find out, not caring what the landscapers did, but with Sasha here he would need to find out so he knew if it was safe for the other to eat.
"I think it's time I introduce you to youtube and google....once we get home anyway." And show the other how to use them, so he could learn things. He just hoped he didn't learn the wrong things...or believe ther wrong things. That was the one thing he disliked about the internet...anyone could say and claim anything and could produce 'proof' and some people would inevitably believe whatever they were claiming and saying. It was h ow people fell for scams, thought people had died who hadn't, and a whole host of other things. He'd have to figure a way for Sasha to know the right and wrojng things...as far as what was false, lies, a scam and other things. He needed to keep him safe on the internet somehow.
Jumping when Sasha jumped, nearly tripping over a root, he didn't have the same night vision as the other...even with the bits of his uniform which glowed softly in the darkness.
Keeping a hold on the others uniform, incase they needed to run, Chaldene was keeping his eyes on everything...darting back and forth. "I don't like how they look...it's off. Something seems abnormal...." He whispered, sure he heard movement not too far off, but he couldn't see anything.

"Oh..." Feeling a bit unsure if that meant they would harm him since he was sort of a bigger version of the bugs that were apparently supposed to be kept off things. He found that rude, and cruel that food sources were poisoned to keep things off them. It was almost like how chaos had tainted the plants back home which led to so many of the deaths before he'd fallen asleep.
"Youtube? Google?" Sounding a bit confused he wondered if those were things they did on the computer where they worked. He'd managed a bit of figuring stuff out with his phone but otherwise, he was content watching them work sometimes as he snoozed on their bed.
Holding the other, he took a few cautious steps forward as he reached for the leaves that looked oh-so appetizing even if the tree itself looked more and more wrong as he got glimpses of it in the glow of the other's uniform and wisps.
But as soon as he grabbed the leaf, a woody tendril wrapped around his wrist and he yelped as it pulled him upwards. His grip on the other tightened so that whatever was tugging on him couldn't take him away. "Ahh! Chaldene!" A whine as it hurt from getting tugged, he didn't want to get yanked away from the other.

"Yeah, and I'll ask at home if the plants are safe for you to eat." Because he did want to make sure. Once he could confirm thigns he'd let the other know, likely it would be safe if only because there were so many children around who might eat things as well. So he had a feeling it would all be safe but he'd ask; just incase.
"Yes, things on the comptuer so you can look up other things. Youtube is videos, like a tv of sorts but not the same, and google is where you can look things up - information." He'd show him later, and explain it better, as he showed them. There really was a lot to teach them and thsoe two things would help him in doing so, as Xander had said.
Shock hit him at the other was grasped and pulled, almost pulled away, as the eternal wrapped his arms about the other and held tight to them. He was not that strong, even if he was an eternal, but his rank made up for it a bit...enough he hoped. Holding on he kicked at the roots of the tree, hoping it was the right tree, as he kicked and flailed his legs about as he too was lifted up, seeing as he wasn't letting the other go. "Kick your legs...aim for the tree. Swing towards the trunk and kick." Already he felt a root, or maybe it was a branch, reaching out and tangling itself about his leg. If was likely going to try and yank him away, to seperate them, but he was still kicking and trying to keep it from getting a good hold on him. "I don't think my magic is going to do anything here."

More words he didn't quite understand but he figured they'd show him and help clear things up when they got back home. He'd have to unload all the plants he'd plucked before powering down which meant he might need their help carrying it all since he'd gone a bit overboard.
With the tree grabbing him, he took the other's advice and kicked at the tree as hard as he could while swinging. It hurt being pulled but something seemed to give and it let him go and he fell to the ground, landing on top of Chaldene with another yelp as his face slammed into some of the metal on their fuku.
"Ouch..." Dazed, his wrist felt off and he looked around to see another tendril coming.

Landing on his tail bown Chaldene couldn't help but cringe and cry out in pain, he felt the pain go right up his back from that landing. With the other landing on him, and rather hard, his hands went right around them automatically - to keep them in place. "You ok?" It hurt where the other had hit him, and no doubt they were hurting more, as he kicked at the roots coming there way.
"We need to get out of here." Calling out, a trmble in his voice, he wondered if his magic could even do anything to these things. It was illusion magic so maybe if he could get them seeing something else it would help?
Scrabling with his feet, pushing with them, he tried to climb up onto his feet while pushing himself backward as he kept a hold on the other. It really wasn't working, and he stumbled and landed again even, but he did manage after trying - a lot - to get onto his feet and pull the other into his arms. "We need out of here...now."

Shaking his head, Erinome gently rubbed his wrist and forehead. He was dizzy and stumbled alongside them as they got up and pulled him along. Noticing cuts and scratches all over, he mumbled and hoped his magic would work at least a bit as he stumbled away with them. Nearly tripping over some more of the roots that swung out for his feet, he held onto the other tightly so he wouldn't get pulled away. Nodding profusely as they said to get out of here, he was more than alright with that idea given that that his food was trying to eat him back. Whatever was wrong with these earth trees was something he didn't want to deal with. "Bad trees..." Keeping up a bit more with the other, he didn't look back because he didn't want to trip if he did. His feet getting tangled in a root, just as he would nearing the exit of the woods, Chaldene nearly fell again. Ducking a branch, which swung for them, he curled over the other senshi in order to keep them both safe. "s**t, looks like the cities insanity decided to spread out this year." Green eyes looked up, as he lifted his head slowly, and stared at the trees around them. "Almost there." He spoke aloud, glad some of the attacks had stopped.
When he finally stepped backward, out of the forest, with the other in his hold Chaldene let himself land on the grass with a huff of breath. "Finally!" Free and away from the trees and their attempts on their lives.
"Damn things. I think we might want to head home for tonight..."

Blinking he was a bit confused, did that mean this was normal here? He didn't really like that idea, not one bit as they helped him get away. His antennae jittered nervously as they curled over him and then when they cleared the tree line, he was content to just stay in their lap as they both landed in the grass.
Nodding quickly, he was more than ready to go back home. "Home, away from those!" Even though they were both out of the forest, he kept clear of some of the other trees as he held onto their uniform tightly. There was still that soreness from where he'd been grabbed but at least it wasn't anything worse.
Normally he'd stay up later but after all this, there was no question about him going straight to sleep with the other. This was more than enough excitement for him and he felt really bad that they'd gotten hurt too because he hadn't paid enough attention on top of sneaking out and waking them up.
