Quote: Firework Flowers (13) : A rare and unique breed of flowers that blossom into long, stiff-stamened, spherical orbs like those of the blossoming Powder-Puff flowers are on full display in Destiny City. A unique hybrid of several species, these plants were being engineered at a small landscaping company. While they were only meant to exist in their private greenhouse as they continued development, a simple accident resulted in thousands of seeds spreading across Destiny City. Thankfully, the Firework Flower is a beautiful, albeit temporary addition. The stems grow rapidly and look like tall blades of grass until the week before the flower blooms; the bulb is hardy and opens overnight to reveal the beautiful firework flower, which can be found in almost any color. However, unlike normal Powder-Puff flowers, when these flowers are jostled they explode in a burst of colors. Whether it is a simple touch or a strong breeze, these ‘Firework Flowers’ seem to burn up from the center of the flower outwards. It creates a beautiful display of light–especially at night. Scientists describe it as a harmless chemical reaction and encourage everyone to appreciate the flowers while they are here. The dust from an explosion can carry on the wind and will glow for a few hours after the reaction. The explosion cannot harm anyone and poses no danger to anyone.
Snorting in mingled disdain and amusement, Pan let the body she’d been draining fall to the ground. She’d yet to decide if she was going to claim the starseed or not and rather thought that this patch of odd flowers was as good a place as any to ruminate and decide.
Concentrating, she watched the orb of energy lift into the air and hover for a moment before blipping out. A nice little shipment back to the Negaverse, she thought. Eyeing the girl she’d drained, Pan decided that she had probably taken more than was prudent, but it wasn’t as if anyone were around to care.
“Just you and me and the moonlight makes three,” she sang in a lilting, chanting voice. But what was to be done with the girl? She had no means to call on a youma to act as a disposal and the higher ups did tend to frown and get testy if one left bodies scattered willy-nilly. But, oh, she wanted that starseed. Whether to consume or collect was a decision left up in the air for now.
Sighing, Pan turned her attention back to the flowers. What to do, what to do…
Before she could really decide, she felt an order aura graze along her senses. Snarling silently, she considered, momentarily, calling out a challenge. Then, deciding against it, she crouched in wait. Let them come to her. She was almost as hungry for a fight as she was for a starseed.
If she were very lucky, she might just get both.

Parsifal was in a rare foul mood. A kid had made fun of him because said kid was taller than he was – like they had made brutal fun of him in the nonchalantly cruel way that only children can. The kid was about to call his friends over to join in the taunting when Perrie got the hell away from them, ducking into the nearby wooded park and powering up, furious and embarrassed and sober. He couldn't help being short, his mom was a former jockey and his dad wasn't all that tall either! And what's that got to do with the worth of another human being anyway? If there was one thing that pissed him off more than anything, it was getting talked down to or taunted because he was short. Stomping around through the undergrowth, Parsifal clenched his fists, the anger in him stewing. What he wouldn't give to take that kid down a peg or two! But it was wrong to hit kids, no matter what they'd done, and he'd been too stunned at the time to try to explain to the kid that what they were doing wasn't cool (like the kid would have listened anyway). Actually, what he wouldn't give for a Negaverse agent to suddenly make themselves available for a good thrashing right about now. That was when he felt the Chaos signature, and he smiled a particularly unpleasant smile. Ask, and ye shall receive…. He slowed his stomping into a more stealthy walk, eventually tracking the aura to an overgrown patch of those weird Fireworks Flowers, the kind that he'd accidentally exploded in Lavender Haze a few days ago. Slowing to a stop, Parsifal glowered at the flowers. "Come out come out wherever you are," he called in a singsong voice, sharp with venom. "You can run, but you can't hide, 'cause I'll find you…"

Rolling her eyes, Pan slowly stood from her crouch, crossing her arms over her chest and glaring down at the smaller senshi. “Hardly a threat. And I’ve never run from one of your kind.”
The sneer in her voice was unmistakable. Through narrowed eyes, she sized up the senshi. Short statured. Tiny, actually. Clearly a chip on his shoulder. And even in the darkness the brilliant colors of his hair and uniform made her eyes water. Clearly, he thought he was dangerous.
Well, she conceded mentally, he might be. She’d never know for certain until she saw what he could do. One thing was sure, though. He was looking for a fight as much as she was. Lips pulling back in a feral grin, she gave the senshi a slight nod of the head. She could respect the need to find a fight.
“Get one thing straight in the marvelously hued head of yours, boy,” she growled. “Y’don’t scare me one lick. But you want a fight? I’m more than happy to oblige.”
So saying, the corrupt senshi lunged, fist already balled and flying, hoping to land a strike. Not necessarily where it would put an end to her fun, but where it would hurt the most. There would be time for magic later.
”tatterpixie” I have notes on my phone saying she’s something like 5’9-5’10 and on the slim muscular side from doing drums in marching band, lol

So, it was a corrupt Senshi hiding in the flower patch. A very tall lady corrupt, elegantly dressed as if going to a costume ball. "I've never run from your kind either, so I suppose we're even," Parsifal snarled. Yeah, she was taller, and probably about as strong magically as he was. Big deal. "And you don't scare me." And she was clearly gunning for a fight. Well, so was he. She lunged at him, ready to throw hands, and he was ready. He moved slightly, just enough so that her knuckles connected with the meaty part of his arm instead of his midsection, which she'd apparently been targeting. At the same time he raised his fists and aimed a punch at her – his body spun a bit by her blow, he likely wouldn't hit where he was aiming, but he didn't care where he hit, as long as he connected. He smiled a nasty little smile. Knock-down drag-out fights were always fun. He'd been in enough fights when he was a kid to know that. "For another thing, I'm no boy." eldritch stardust he's jockey-strong, so XD

Genuinely thrilled by the interaction, Pan took the blow that slid across her jaw and skid to a halt. Grinning, she spat out a bit of blood before dragging her hand across her mouth. Nothing broken, so that was all right. He was little but wiry and strong. She could work with that.
Though she had to laugh at his declaration that he wasn't scared either.
"Oh honey," she purred. "We're gonna have to work on changing that."
Again, there was a tiny nod of respect as she acknowledged what he'd said about not being a boy. Fair enough, she'd play nice as far as name calling was concerned. He'd earned that much simply by not lecturing her about her wicked ways.
Moving into a slow, circling stalk, Pan considered the senshi. Everyone had a weakness to exploit. Even her. But she wanted to find his first and given how... hrmmm... snarly he was acting, she was willing to bet he could be goaded. The trick was what would trigger that chip on his shoulder to best advantage.
s**t, she was going to have to be smart about this if she wanted to win. As the thought stuck, she smiled, eyes falling on the girl she'd drained.
"A game then, senshi," she said brightly. "Let's if you're good enough to keep her from fading!"
Sliding to the girl, Pan worked rapidly, sinking her hand intot he girl's chest and plucking the starseed. Granted, she'd been hoping for a little snack, but she was willing to give that up provided she got a good, bloody fight out of it. Holding the starseed up where he could see clearly, she grinned.
"Well? You in?"

Parsifal was enjoying this so far. This was precisely what the metaphorical doctor had ordered, a good old punch-up. He'd landed his blow on her jaw, and he grinned right back at her as she spat blood. His arm was going to end up with a really great bruise, but at least her opening punch hadn't hit him in the gut – that would have likely knocked the wind out of him and given her the edge in the fight. He turned and watched the corrupt Senshi as she began to circle him, respecting that she seemed to respect him and his hot buttons. For the moment. She couldn't be trusted as far as he could throw a horse; there was a touch of the crazy about her that made her an unpredictable foe. He was laser-focused on her, amber eyes narrowed. What was her angle? Then she offered a "game" – and with quick, smooth movements removed the starseed of the girl who was crumpled unconscious on the ground. Honestly, he'd thought that the girl had already been starseeded. The small Senshi stared in horror as the corrupt held the precious life-jewel up to show him what she'd done. If she kept it, sent it back to the Negaverse, ate it or whatever, the girl would die. Suddenly this wasn't a game any longer, a way for him to let off steam. This was life or death. "I'm in," he nodded. He had no choice.

Ah, there it was. Pan refrained from smirking, though she was smug af on the inside. Typical senshi, wanting to do anything to save someone. Allowing the starseed to float for a few more moments just above her palm, she admired the thing. They were pretty and oh, so valuable.
Along with being useful leverage.
“Thought you might be,” she said easily. “Every game should have rules, don’t you think? Let’s make this as simple as possible then. I estimate she has five minutes tops before she’s gone beyond recovery. If you can beat me in that time frame, I’ll put it back and head off on my merry way. If I win, it’s mine.”
Pan flashed a savage grin. She could see from his eyes that he had a good idea of the things that could befall a starseed.
“Have we a bargain, senshi?” she asked as she tucked the starseed into her corset where it would be secure.
Whatever his answer, this was going to be fun.

"Bargain," Parsifal replied, watching the corrupt Senshi tuck the starseed away for safekeeping. At least he knew where it was; it wasn't being sent to subspace somewhere or eaten or anything like that. If there was some way he could get it free, dig it out from the corrupt's corset, return it to the girl… Either that, or he had to defeat his opponent. And he only had five minutes to do it. He cracked his knuckles in anticipation. But instead of immediately charging her, he shouted, "Eeny Meeny Miney MO!" And three other Parsifals split off from him, all four springing into action. The pink and orange quartet ran around her in a circle, constantly changing position so that it was difficult, if not impossible, to tell which one was the real Senshi. "Buttbow!" they all shouted, eerily in unison, as one of them kicked her in the backside. Then they started swarming her like annoying small children, climbing all over her and grabbing at this or that part of her uniform. "Gimme gimme gimme!" And in the process of causing a complete hubbub, the Parsifals jostled the Fireworks Flowers. POOF POOF POOF

Okay. She'd been willing to give the boy a modicum of respect, but if he was going to go around kicking and manhandling her using weird magic, then she didn't have to play nice either.
Grinning, she threw haymakers and vicious kicks out, spinning in a whirlwind of skirts as she called up her magic.
"Thirteen O'Clock!" she hissed.
When he set off the firework flowers, all she could do was laugh stridently. More confusion in the air was no bad thing. She was perfectly happy to attack anything that looked like the senshi. But first, let him have a small taste of his own bullshit.
Spinning away through the ghostly dancers, she caught sight of one of the multiple senshi and took a chance. Punching out viciously and hoping it would land on solid flesh.
tatterpixie Sailor Scout Attack: Thirteen O'Clock Effects - Pan is able to use this attack up to 3 times per battle. Each instance lasts for 30 seconds, can affect one target within a 5' radius and creates an illusion/hallucination of ghostly strains of music playing along with brief, confusing flashes of ghostly, masked dancers. Common side effects are confusion, extremely mild dizziness and a general feeling of What the Hell.

The quartet of Parsifals suddenly found themselves whisked into a ghostly ball, complete with ethereal music. They danced for a few seconds with the masked dancers, the Fireworks Flowers going off all around them only adding to the festivities. Until the corrupt's vicious blow connected with one of them, who cried out "OH NO" and popped in a shower of pink and orange sparkles. Their numbers diminished, the remaining Parsifals shook off the hallucinatory fairy ball and charged the corrupt Senshi, once more swarming her. One of them swung at her and would have connected with her jaw, except the punch whiffed by her face as if it were immaterial. Which it was. Two of the Parsifals stopped suddenly, held their heads and shouted "OH NO" and like the one before them exploded in a pink and orange shower of sparkles. That left only one Parsifal, who threw a punch at her with all his strength, hoping he scored a hit.

"Cute magic," Pan said, voice sweetly poisonous, as the first of the doubles popped. "Glitter effect is a nice touch."
Now there were three left to deal with. She watched them all closely as they shook off her attack. When they began to swarm, she held her ground. When one swung at her face, she didn't move, determined to not give the senshi the pleasure. Only, nothing connected. But two more double exploded in glitter.
Really, it was a neat trick. But that was all it was as far as she was concerned. A pretty little trick.
Turning her attention back to the actual senshi, she realized she'd been distracted just enough. His fist came flying and landed on her nose. Pan knew it was broken and could immediately taste and feel the warm blood pouring out. But she was quick enough to seize his wrist before he could dart away.
"Oh no you don't," she growled. Yanking the senshi in close, Pan gave the man a crazed, blood soaked grin. "My turn."
Whirling where she stood, Pan pulled the senshi hard, managing to use his arm as a lever to hoist him momentarily before throwing him with all her strength. As he flew, she took the moment to test her nose and pulll it back where it belonged. Roaring as pain seared through her face, Pan decided that she'd live. Her nose would mostly heal straight. She'd just be really swollen and bruised for a few days. Feeling that was sorted, she turned to see where the senshi had landed.
"Time's almost up..."

Parsifal knew he'd hit her hard by the way his fist crumpled against her face, and he grinned. But only for a moment. He tried to scamper back to prepare another punch, but the corrupt Senshi grabbed and yanked and twisted and tossed him like a rag doll across the wooded path. As Parsifal flew through the air, the tiny little voice of reason in the back of his mind said you shouldn't be doing this, what if you get hurt again and can't ride? And he thought about that as he landed face-first against a tree trunk and sank to the ground. Blood ran down his face and into his eyes, blurring his vision; slowly he wiped his face with his sleeve and looked at it. His nose felt broken and there felt like a gash across his forehead from the impact. What if he couldn't ride for a while? And then he thought of the girl, who would never do anything again if he failed to recover her starseed. The Senshi got to his feet, blood dripping from his face and nose. "I can't let her die," he growled hoarsely at the corrupt as she reminded him of how much time he didn't have. He launched himself at her again, this time ignoring all sense of propriety and grasping the top of her corset, intent on ripping it open and getting to the starseed. Parsifal didn't care what it took – he had to save that girl.

Wincing slightly at the way the senshi had landed face first against a tree trunk. From where she stood, there was zero chance he'd avoided a concussion and yet, he was getting back up. Really, she had to admire his guts and determination. They were something a lot of people didn’t have.
It was a pity that something and someone so shiny and good would have to be broken. She was going to break him and probably have a lot of fun in the doing. Tilting her head quizzically at his heroic declarations, Pan kept her voice as flat and emotionless as possible.
“You can’t? Why not? She’s not hurting. She doesn’t even know you’re out here bleeding for her.”
She would have said more, but then the senshi was on her and getting quite handsy. And that simply would not do. Snarling, Pan swept out with a powerful backhanded swing, intending to catch the senshi in the face and knock him away. She was definitely not above bitchslapping.
“Ah ah ah,” she taunted, eyes nearly glowing with unholy glee in the midst of her purpling and blood streaked face. “Where are your manners? ‘Sides, you don’t want to risk shattering her poor little life, right?”
Dancing and twirling back from the senshi, Pan continued to grin crazily as she popped the starseed from her corset and held it up. She so badly wanted to pop it into her mouth right then and there… Should she? Would she? She guessed that the girl had maybe a minute, possibly two left before any chance of recovery was lost.
Besides, Pan wanted to prove a point. What that point might be beyond a resounding ******** YOU, she wasn’t sure. But really. Did she need any other reason? Glancing from the starseed to the senshi, she considered. And then decided.
No, no she did not need any other reason.
Raising the starseed to her bloodied mouth, Pan closed her eyes in near ecstasy as she consumed the girl’s shiny little soul.
“Awwww, looks like her time ran out,” she whispered maliciously. “How sad. Sorrows. Sorrows. Prayers.”

With all the righteous indignation of someone being bodily mauled, the corrupt Senshi delivered a backhand blow to Parsifal's face that would have made Serena Williams proud. His head whipped to the side and he fell back, stumbling over the girl's body and falling on his butt in some more of those Fireworks Flowers, which promptly exploded around him. Growling, he shakily got to his feet and glared at her through the blood in his eyes. He wasn't feeling so great; he was pretty sure he had a borderline concussion at this point, but he didn't care. He had to save the girl's life. Parsifal staggered after her as his opponent danced away from him, holding the purloined starseed above her head and out of his reach. Now she was just taunting him. Viciously, like that kid had. Only this time there was more at stake than his pride. He continued to pursue her, though, because his heart couldn't do anything less as the corrupt grinned like a mad woman. And then… then… she popped the starseed in her mouth. And he stopped in his tracks, wobbling on his feet like a drunk. He stared at her in complete and utter horror. "You monster," he whispered hoarsely. "You complete monster."

You complete monster.
Smiling happily, much like a teacher whose favorite student has finally understood the lesson, Pan went still and gave a single nod of her head.
"Yes. Precisely."
She was glad to have been the one to provide this little life lesson to the senshi. Even if the lesson itself only amounted to ******** Around and Find Out. As the starseed's energy rushed through her, taking the edge off of her pain, Pan considered her next move. The senshi was weakened, but not weak. While she could try for his starseed as well, she didn't think it was a good plan.
No, she'd just backed him into a corner emotionally. No telling what he might do now. And that was fairly thrilling. Would he try to fight? Avenge the girl? If he did, she might let him drive her off and think he won something.
Eyes glittering, she watched him closely. She wanted to see what this man was made of.
In the light of the firework flowers, she caught a crimson glint in the grass. Not blood. One of those little star charms, maybe? She'd be sure to grab it before she left.
"What will you do now, senshi? Tell me."
