GRAND OPENING FESTIVAL - ROLEPLAY FINALE

This post is an introduction to the new Re: Horizons raid system, which will feature unique Roleplay/RNG mechanics to connect contests with the overall roleplay narrative. The rules will be explained in this account, followed by a bullet point summary. I recommend reading both the paragraph and the list, and referring to my initial post for guidance. If you need clarification, feel free to ping me on Discord in the general chat. Don't hesitate to ask questions, as others may have the same ones!
This raid will also serve as an introduction to our new roleplay rule called Firewalls. Firewalls are a game mechanic that restricts digivolution in certain areas. To determine which Firewall is active, the first post of any roleplay forum will have red text indicating the current Firewall. Referring to the list below, you will find the following message: Firewall Level 4 is in effect: No Digimon can progress beyond the child stage. This rule is implemented for the enjoyment of the entire guild, ensuring fair and enjoyable encounters. As you explore deeper into the digital world, the game mechanic will eventually allow you to surpass the child stage. Please consider this rule as an unchangeable fact, unaffected by clever roleplay posts. Now, let's dive into the event details!
During this encounter, players will have the opportunity to choose one Digimon from their party to participate. Digimon at the child stage or lower will receive a total of 20 hit points. The boss, on the other hand, will be an Adult stage Digimon with a total of 100 hit points. It is important for players to keep track of their remaining hit points in their posts. Players are allowed to respond once per boss cycle, which in this case is once per day. To make it easier for players, I have specified the time when the boss will make a post in the bulleted rules section. It is advisable for players to make preparations before that time. When responding to the boss's post, players are encouraged to engage in roleplay. Each sentence written in response to the boss will inflict 1 hit point of damage, with a maximum of 5 hit points per turn. If a player writes less than 5 sentences, the damage inflicted will be reduced accordingly. It is worth noting that the boss will not mitigate this damage, so players can rely on their hits to land successfully.
The boss's daily response will serve as the RNG portion of the event. If you refer to the boss's first post, you will see that they rolled dice. This will be the amount of hit point damage that is directed toward your Digimon partner. You must take this damage and account for it on your post by subtracting it from your total hit points. The one exception is if you add additional sentences to your post that describe your Digimon partner mitigating the damage in any way, for example with a well-timed block or dodge. If you do this, you may roll 1D4 dice and subtract the amount of damage the boss rolled and take less damage. If you look at the boss's first post you can see it dealt 1 hit point in damage. I responded with my post with a 4. For this turn, I would take no damage.
Hit points cannot be recovered during the event. If the boss reduces your Digimon partner to 0 hit points after rolling your 1D4 defense dice, your Digimon will be knocked out. Any damage dealt to the boss with a roleplay response this turn will result in 0 damage. On your next turn, after the boss's post, you can reenter the battle with half of your starting hit points, or 10 hit points in this case. Simply include a sentence explaining how you healed your Digimon. Additionally, you can disregard the boss's damage for that turn, eliminating the need for a 1D4 defense roll.
There is a winner in this event! Join the discussion in the Discord chat to guess who the lucky winner might be or what their prize might entail. The tamer who lands the final blow will be awarded the prize. If every tamer inflicts their full 5 hit points of damage per round, the boss will be defeated after 20 rounds! Don't fret, every tamer who joins in but doesn't defeat the boss will still receive a prize. Remember to make three posts to qualify for the participation reward.
