The whole walk back to Ian’s property was interesting as Sasha kept feeling for his antennae and not having them on his head anymore. The devices the fluffy thing… no… Julienne that was her name, had given him were so very interesting but he didn’t really understand it all just yet. She’d given him a crash course as she’d called it and then she’d made this sort of magic so that he looked more like the humans on this planet. Not much had changed, his antennae were gone and he found that his spots had changed the slightest of colors. He couldn’t see his back though but he did wonder if anything else had changed.

Luckily he still had some of Ian’s clothes with him in subspace but as he made it through the grass, he stumbled again and again from how long the pants were. Even after rolling up the legs, it was hard to manage but he liked their clothes. Looking around as he made it to the front porch, he noticed a few insects circling the light as he knocked on the door. At first, he was a bit distracted by it too and then he noticed all the dead bugs stuck in the light fixture and frowned. Reaching up, he found he couldn’t quite reach the thing to try and stop it from hurting the other insects.

The long sleeves of the hoodie he wore flailed uselessly towards the light but it did manage to spook the circling insects off which felt like a win to him in a way.

Jumping slightly, Sasha looked back as Ian grabbed his hand. He looked back up at the bulb one more time with a bit of a frown before turning back to Ian. “It’s hurting them…” A bit of a grumble came out before he realized they might not recognize him with the changes.

“Yes, a… friend helped.” Pulling the phone out of his pocket he showed it to the other with the photo of the cat that had helped him. “Help me learn?” It looked like one of the things the other sat and messed with on the floor each night. It was called a computer and they had explained a bit but he still didn’t quite get how they worked. The blue light that it let off was very nice and relaxing though. It didn’t seem dangerous like the bulb that apparently would burn him if he touched it.

Frowning again he didn’t like the sound of it but he knew people had to see otherwise they might get hurt as well. “Maybe…. Something to keep them off it?” Sounding a bit hopeful with his question, he let them pull him inside as he stumbled over the pant legs again. They’d unrolled while he’d been reaching up for the light.

“Insects… are good though, for the plants.” They also never did anything really to hurt people if you didn’t bother them. They were so much smaller on this planet than they had been on his homeworld, he felt bad for them because it would be so easy for them to get hurt.

Looking down at the phone again as they handed it back to him his brow furrowed as he wondered what exactly the words were for the thing. Poking at the screen in response, he tried figuring out what some things did but he really didn’t quite get it. “Hrm… how to…” Fumbling with things again he tapped at the screen and managed to get it to show an image of the floor below him. Perking up, he pointed the thing at Ian and tapped until it made a noise. “Ah!” But then it didn’t do exactly what it had when the cat had told him to do it so he frowned again.

“How to add you? It’s not… working?” Turning the thing back for them to see, he couldn’t really understand the device. Moving further inside, he stumbled again and decided to just sit on the floor.

Sasha nodded slightly, he was glad they would try to do something about it. “Thank you…” Mumbling softly as he accepted the drink from the other. He sniffed it for a moment before sipping it, it tasted herbal which was nice but it wasn’t as sweet as the honey or fruits they’d given him. He tried reaching for the honey in his subspace but it… just didn’t happen? Blinking he wondered if that was because of the glamor or that he wasn’t powered up as Ian called it.

“Ah… can I have more honey?” Holding the cup up to indicate he wanted some added to the drink. When they questioned what he’d been trying, he closed his eyes and scrunched his face up as he tried to remember what Julienne had told him.

“To add you to call? Like Julienne.” It wasn’t something he was used to, if he wanted to reach out to someone back home there were creatures that took off with written letters or maps. Sometimes there were orbs that would hold spoke words and would repeat the words once delivered to the intended person. It had been magic, or at least what he figured Ian might call magic but this device in his hand felt like something in between magic and technology. At least that’s what he thought the word was that Ian called the things that hummed and glowed.

Tilting his head at the mention of bees, he then shook his head. “Not a bumble.” Taking the spoon, he added two spoonfuls of honey and stirred it into his drink before sealing the jar back up and handing it back. Sipping it now, he smiled and hummed happily. “Nectar is good, fruits and sugars too.” It kept him going even if he was tired but at least now he wasn’t tired anymore. Having a place to sleep that was out of the elements felt really nice and the hum of all the electronics was soothing.

“Two, she gave me two but they look different?” So was this a normal one and wouldn’t do the same thing the other one did? He remembered the cat having to poke at this one more than the other one. Handing it back over to them, he stood back up and finished his drink before shuffling over towards the sink to set the glass into.

“Maybe a bit of powering up?” He liked it when they were powered up, they felt more familiar to him but this was okay too. Everything was still really new and it took a lot of getting used to. But at the mention of going upstairs, he decided to give up on the pants and jumped a bit until they fell to the floor. Picking them up, he held them close and started moving up the stairs. The hoodie he wore was still like a dress on him and he wore the tattered undershorts of his from his planet. He’d managed a decent patch job with the things they had around the house, at least enough so he could wear them under other clothing. The other shirt and shorts he had needed more work though even if they said the things were too damaged. He didn’t want to give the tattered clothing up yet.

“Okay, Ian.” Speaking softly as always, he paused and waited for them to follow along. The first few nights he’d taken the bed but now that he wasn’t as tired and weak, he wondered if the other would have him move somewhere else to sleep so they could have the bed.

So they were two different things, he’d have to remember that and keep this one close even if he had the other one around. It was good that they’d add their number in, though he wasn’t exactly sure what that meant. As long as he could contact them if he needed to then it would be fine.

They looked tired, which wasn’t something he’d noticed from them over the time he’d been here. Concern bubbled up and he nodded just once and finished climbing the stairs. Sometimes they were a bit hard on him, they felt too tall almost at times and he’d tripped on them more than once already.

“Need rest?” Asking as he stood by the bed, still holding the pants and looking around a bit. The computer glowed a bit, but not as much as it usually did causing Sasha to wonder if the thing needed sleep as well. Blinking as he looked at Ian, trying to figure things out, he looked towards the door and wondered if it would be better to sleep on the soft thing downstairs.

“I can go downstairs if it’s better?” Fidgeting with the fabric in his hands as he spoke, he wasn’t sure if it was okay. It was still a bit hard to keep the fact that they weren’t the same person he knew in the past.

“Don’t want to keep you up.” It was an excuse, a poor one at that but he settled with it and sat on the floor by the computer and contemplated things.

“Cold makes you tired?” Tilting his head a bit as he considered the fact that it made him a bit tired as well. He liked warmer weather, but not really the harsh light of the sun as it caused him headaches.

Shower… oh that was the stand-up version of the thing called a bath that he liked to take. Stretching a bit, he folded the pants he was holding onto carefully and set them on the floor by the desk. He wasn’t normally too tired at night but after running around today he was a bit tired.

Sasha decided to just sleep in the large hoodie he was wearing, it was comfortable and long enough that it almost seemed like he was swimming in the thing. Moving to the bed, he kept a bit of distance and laid on top of the comforter for now. Lying on his side, he faced the wall and curled up a bit after stretching his legs more.

“Okay.” Resting his head on one of the pillows, he thought over the things he’d learned today from Julienne and wondered if they were okay with him borrowing more than just their clothing. But with them sounding so tired he wasn’t sure if it was something to bring up.

Last names hadn’t been a thing on his planet so he wasn’t sure how important they were or what one he should use. It had been the only one he knew off the top of his head so he went with it when the cat was helping him get some things set up. Apparently, some paper things would show up in the mail, but he didn't really understand it all yet.

Nodding at the comment about the rain, he would have to remember that about the other. It wasn’t something he was sure had been the same in the past but either way he was trying to take note of everything to see what was different and what was the same.

Another nod and he shuffled a bit to get under the comforter as he pulled the phone out of the big pocket in the center of the hoodie. Rolling over to face them, he offered the phone over to them as he made sure there was enough space between them.

“Lots of plants… Julienne said I was stealing.” Frowning, he still didn’t like the fact that those flowers had been behind bars and were not allowed to be smelled or taken. How was he supposed to find out if they would make a good medicine if they were off limits? Or maybe they were off limits because they were medicinal and someone was hoarding them to themselves. That idea made him prickly as he had considered it earlier.

“Earth is odd…” Staring at the phone, he really didn’t quite understand it but if it was how people communicated here then he’d have to figure it out and Ian was all for teaching him which was nice.
