Ushiwa 1
Spring was in the air, blossoms perfumed the area so that every simple walk was an experience. The ranch had quite a few people who dabbled in gardening and one could tell that the long winter season had pent up some of that good green magic. His own magic was a little different, he didn't mind a salad and cherished good healing balm but other than that he did not have an elaborate relationship with plants. Though Ny's boyfriend sure was good at what he did. Ushi could see touches of each gardeners personality and he had asked for a very big favor. He was going now to see if it had been done.
He had spent good coin and hired his future brother in law, to source a cherry blossom tree like the ones he had first met Sae under. This would be the first tree of many, he planned to make a grove but wanted to see if it would work first. There was no use planting more if one would not survive.

The warm weather was here and improving and she had to admit that she was now quite bored with routine and the same goings on that had been going on for the past however many years. Boredom in itself was a sort of blessing because it meant she was content. She had just had a lovely tea with Ushi's Mother Nin. The janarim from the other day had had her babies even without the supplies that she and Ushi were prevented from bringing on time due to the storm that made everything ground to a halt for two days with its unbent power.
It had been a sight to see and she was very grateful they had found the cave that they had, continuing to move about in a storm like that would get them no where and could have injured them or their mounts. Much better to bed down like a good critter and wait for the whole mess to pass them by. She spotting her mate marching across the yard and decided to follow his cute little man butt. It was her favorite game Ushi stalking.

He heard something behind him and turned to see his wife sneaking up on him like a hungry radaku. "Ahh, there you are." he said, not missing a beat. "Come." He held out his hand and lead her to the designated grove area where a small cherry tree in blossom declared its presence to the world with bright pink blooms. It was a beautiful sight to see even for such a small tree and what it symbolized was even grander. All the love, care and affection he held for his wife over the years. She was the center of his universe and always would be.
"This is for you. Remember the day we first met with all the trees in bloom." He smiled, knowing full well that he had done a good. There were gifts and then there were gifts with great meaning, showing that the person really put thought into the choosing. His Mom and Dad would be so proud of him. "I love you Sae."

She was a tad put out that he had caught on to her so quickly. But it wasn't to be helped. She was floored with the new surprise though. Her eyes got dinner plate sized and she couldn't help the tears that came to her from such a sweet gesture. He had remembered after all this time. She loved this kind of tree, they always made her feel nostalgic.
She held his hand as they admired the little tree, which seemed to be doing really good after its upsetting transplanting. Trees could be sensitive. She was so touched by the gesture.
Later that day they had just finished tea when she turned to him. "Want to go for a ride?" She grinned and waggled her eyebrows, knowing full well that if it meant he could be outside he would do it. She just knew him so well it was like they were in sync with each other. Doing things on purpose to make the other smile.

He grinned back. "Always." It was just so good to be out and about not lazing about inside at home. He was excited for another chance to be alone with her. He had an idea to toss out there. The kids were all growing up so fast and he was ready for another whirlwind adventure, if she was game. More than four kids was a lot to ask of anyone but well, he wanted very badly to be a Daddy again to have tiny hands grab and hold on to his finger. There was a special kind of magic in that.
He hoped that she would say yes. He would be okay if she didn't four wonderful kids was a gift beyond what he could have imagined but well kids were kind of like potato chips and once you had them you just wanted more. You wanted to see a part of yourself walking free and young in the world. Besides he saw the way she looked at babies, particularly their Grandson that was a beautiful mix of his parents. Mostly looking like him, Ushiwa, which was you know for the better.

They were under way soon enough and the moment they were away from the ranch and any pointy ears that may be listening, she turned to him and piercing him with her eyes she came out and let the squirrel out of her chest. The idea had been pent up so long inside her that it sort of just burst out.
"Would you ...have more kids with me?" She looked earnestly at him. "Its just that ours are growing so fast and soon they will be out of the house and well, I'm not ready to be a empty nested mom. I need someone to need me." Well besides her mate but he was house trained already that was different.. The urge had been growing bigger and bigger for years and well, she wanted another round before she was too old to bear children and was forced to knit her golden years away. Though being a grandma already was fortuitious but having a grandkid and having your own were two different things. She had to give the grandkid back to her mother after all.

He looked at her somewhat stunned. "You know I had come out here wanting to ask much the same. I would be delighted to have a kid with you, I know just the place to celebrate!" He kicked his mount up and they charged off toward a special place that he had only very recently found with Thal.
He skidded the mount to a stop, "I had actually been waiting for your brithday to show you this but well, I couldn't resist. Look at it."
A hidden waterfall surrounded by flat stones, moss and orchids. A Beautiful well hidden spot. Perfect for alone time with someone you loved. He would enjoy the time they spent here.
Ushi dismounted and held her mounts bride while she dismounted. It was lady like, she had long legs. Soon enough Sae was on the ground and they made their way further in, leading their mounts along.

"You had a secret waterfall spot up your sleeve?! You sly fox you." She giggled, glad that he was so enthusiastic about her idea. Well, their mutual idea. She wanted this more than anything now.
They wandered into the glad, picketing the janarim where they wouldn't get up to too much trouble but where they could lay down and relax just the same. There would be no relaxing for her.
"Wait, wait," She said mock panic in her voice as he rushed her, a maniacal look in his great orange eyes. It was still a tad disconcerting that the trees had blessed him with her hair color. She missed the old blue Ushi but this was close enough.
"What if we get another Kechiri? What will I do then." She was trying very hard not to laugh at the look on his face. Well there was always the possibility of having a sibling quite similar to another. She was yanking his chain and it was working. He knew that she loved their spicey daughter, the one that looked so very much like her Dad...besides all the makeup.

He scooped her up and walked them further into the mossy flower land. "You should be so lucky to get another Kechiri, you spoiled woman you." he kissed her so she knew he too got the joke she was pulling on him. "You will regret that." He grinned.
Then his kisses got serious.
A while later the two of them lay curled in the grass watching the ants march by. It felt good for a change to just let the world do its thing around them, without trying to change anything, and he did not want to change this moment. Of course this would be a great place to come back to for the forseeable future. Peaceful, quiet and beautiful. He would tell his brother to stuff it for a while. Ushi was going to enjoy the secret. He had his hand curled around Saeruin's torso. Over her flat belly. But soon, it may not be so flat. She was ever so cute round.

She lay next to his solid warmth and just soaked in the bliss of the moment. And the imaginings that always came with the planning of children. Who would they look most like? What gender would they be? Who's personality would get get? How old would they be when they walked for the first time? Tantilizing questions that only time would tell.
She was so ready for this journey again. She knew it wasn't always easy but it was well worth the trouble. "I hope we get twins." Her eyes lit with a devilish light. "Wouldn't that be fun?" She eyed him. "You don't think Kechiri will be jealous do you?" Their daughter while fierce and loyal was also a bit of a hot head. It was most amusing for Sae to watch the drama unfold. Unless it also involved her which it sometimes did. Kechiri may mellow more with age though, she certainly seemed to respect her mom a bit more now that she was one too.

"Better to be twins, one for each of us to snuggle hey?" He grinned at her. "Twins...what about triplets? Then who gets to hold the third one." He poked at her side playfully. "Twins would be good." Who knew what they would get. "Maybe not identical though, that would be interesting." Considering what his brother's triplets could and had gotten up to, even at young ages. He swallowed. "Yeah not identical." That would give them an edge over regular twins which were psycic enough thank you very much.
"I want as many of your children as I can get." He pressed his lips to hers, silencing the conversation.
He made them dinner then, on a little campfire away from the glad. Stew but much fancier than the stalwart solidier of a stew that his brother always made. It was good but it was predictable. His used fresh herbs and it gave it more of a floral aroma. Good stew.

Greatfully she tucked into the thick meal. Full of vegetables herbs and succulent meat. It was pretty darn good for stew. Ushi always did everything to the fullest. Even down to cooking. She was a good cook too and it made for a very happy, well fed household. She took a deep breath and appreciated the depth of the flavour that had seeped into the potato pieces that had gone in the pot from nearly the start. So very good.
"I'll never know how you turn stew into a masterpiece." She smiled sweetly at him and then took another scoop. Galivanting was hard work.
Nobody every went hungry around their house. Soon there may be more mouths to feed. She looked forward to it. Maybe not how messy mealtimes were but definitely finding out what everyone liked. All of them seemed to prefer potatoes done a different way. It was such a versatile vegetable. Making baby food itself was an art they had gotten down pat.

"It is all the love I put into it, obviously." Dramatically he put his hand to his jest. Increasing the entertainment factor. "Twin Kechiris." He laughed at the stricken look on her face. "Come now I know you love her just as much as the others, stop jesting Sae." He poked at her ribs playfully.
They broke the fresh campfire loaf and dunked the still steaming bread into the stew. Both moaned in bliss at the mesh of hot fresh flavours. This was so good. He grinned. "Bread was a really good idea, thank you." She always found ways to compliment his cooking.
"I could eat an aldabuck after today. What a great day." He offered her another piece of bread. "Here." His eyes twinkled with mischief. He adored times like this where they could relax and play and enjoy life. "What are we doing after dinner?" He asked.

"Hmm," she pondered. "After dinner huh?" She looked around looking for inspiration. "How about a walk and then we sit by the fire and talk for hours, until you give me that face and then we go to bed." She grinned. "Then to greet the dawn the next day, bright eyed and bushy tailed."
"Come on lets go." She held out a hand to him and she led him down the trail to a shadowy place where a few trees were in bloom. There she kissed him and the rest was history.
The followed the plan. They were bound and determined to conceive. Besides she liked the quiet time where they could visit and catch up on each other's lives. She loved moments like these, and she loved him with all of her being.
To have someone small to hold and to cry in the night seeking comfort and food and love. A little form or two to tuck between herself and her mate at night.

The next morning they went hunting and they netted a wild bird for breakfast, along with some bacon from home they were eating high on the hog this morning. Ahh, life was so good. Hunting and camping and eating together. This was what he lived for. This was his passion and his hobby all rolled into one and he got to share it all with her. He loved her so very much.
"I like seeing you happy." There had been some mutually stressful years in their past but so far they were behind them. They had their daughter and that was what mattered. Now they could enjoy the joy they should have been awarded from the first. She deserved so much. She was so beautiful and strong and well he didn't look foward to the labour part of things but she always bulled through that as well. Ushiruin had been a delayed birth, Dannu soon after. Not difficult, he was sure the boy just didn't want to leave.
