The strange little pho shop sits at a nexus of worlds- perhaps leading to its unusual nature to begin with. Past the guest sitting area there lays a twisting length of hallways that seem impossible given the size of the shop from outside. A countless number of doors mark their length, each one looking unique in its design and shape. Opening one leads to a different realm entirely, from far off space to fantastical kingdoms. Stranger still, it seems that some doors seem to come and go as they please….
The ShopPhox Street Cafe as it stands is an unassuming corner cafe in the middle of a bustling little city. Not as huge as New York or Chicago, but not a ‘nowhere’ town.
Phoxes are free to exit the cafe, but any humans they encounter past the cafe’s sidewalk are unable to perceive them, unless the phox wishes. Even then, they’re not a ‘OMG A FOX!!!!’ situation, but a ‘oh, neat’. Type of deal. The cafe has been around long enough that phoxes are a known entity.
Phoxes Themselves:Phoxes are pretty much very aware of their origins. They’re a spirit given physical form via the blessing of a bowl of delicious pho.
Upon emerging from their bowls, kits are capable of speaking the Common tongue much like toddlers in our world. Of course, this is also up to the owners if they want kits to babyspeak- that’s fine too!
Yes, after a kit emerges, the pho may be consumed by the kit themselves, their parent, or the being (user) who blessed the bowl! Just pick out the fuzzy bits.
Life Cycle of a Phox:Bowl is blessed by the Celestial -> Kit -> Kit grows up
Phoxes can live for hundreds of years, some living longer or shorter, depending on their breed/species.
They are, however, vulnerable to illness and injury and are mortal in that sense.
Aside from an untimely death due to aforementioned illness or injury, Phoxes chosen by the Celestial may choose to Ascend, effectively becoming immortal and potentially a guardian of a Domain.
re; Human communication This isn't something considered too deeply since we don't want humans to be a focus of anything RP-related
For like...'funsies' there can be communication back and forth easily between pet and user. Beyond that, phoxes don't speak human languages. They are intelligent and can, for the most part, understand humans. Ascended, however, can communicate with anyone they wish.
As far as how much human interaction... the original humans that ran the pho shop before it was blessed have retired, leaving the shop to the phoxes after teaching them the pho recipes. It's now handed down phox to phox and each generation puts their own spin on it when making their bowls.
Users/Guardians are not necessary for a phox.
Phox Languages:Phoxes do not speak the human tongue, but have their own languages that, for ease, are compared to human languages.
Common=English for all purposes.
Phoxes who live within a domain with their own culture are allowed to develop different languages in-character!
