Quote:
Takes place at the end of January

When he wasn’t out gathering energy the corrupt senshi was out hunting order, senshi or knight it didn’t matter to him, he wanted both of them dead and by whatever means necessary as he wasn’t picky. Dead was dead at the end of the day. He just wished he could be the one doing the killings, or at the very least watching, he had no love for the other side and made it rather obvious whenever he could.

His hands were folded inside the sleeves of his uniform, to keep them warm, while he stepped out of an alleyway. Someone was nearby, not just an order signature but also a chaos one, ohhh this could be very nice. “Let us go and see.” Whispering to himself as he headed that way, keeping his pace slow and almost casual, he really wasn’t in any rush. Teleporting, to close the distance a bit, he reappeared down the block and that much closer to the signatures.

“Now, where is the little dove…I want to break its pretty little wings and watch it die.” Speaking so softly, baring his fangs as he spoke, he had no problem letting himself come off as unstable. Let order think he was unhinged and unpredictable, let it intimidate them, he let the cool air float about him and the ice pool about his feet, following with each step he took, his hair left an elegant trail of frost curling about the street as he walked.

“Doesn’t anyone want to play with me?” Calling out in an almost offended manner, one hand coming up to his chest. “I just want to kill senshi and knights…that’s all.” He was leaning a bit too much into the unhinged bit but why not? He’d had a rather stressful day at work and already took medication for the migraine he’d felt coming on. Without that attempting to kill him, or at the very least keep him hunched over the toilet puking, he might as well have some fun tonight.

Stichtite had been out gathering again, being careful and trying to get used to the feel of different signatures. He’d gotten the idea that order felt warm in a way but foreign while other agents or senshi had sort of a cold and prickly feeling to them that felt familiar. He’d picked up a few of both types as well as one that felt sort of in between but it had vanished quickly and he returned to the task at hand.

He’d made it a habit to pull one starseed a week in addition to his quota, from the ones who needed that softer end. It felt nice in a way, sparing them the pain from their illnesses or wounds. It also meant that there would be less filth flooding the streets and clinics, either way he liked the way it felt to be able to have a bit more power over people’s lives.

Standing back up, he thought he heard a voice calling from further down the alley. Looking over the dumpster he had been behind, he saw a figure with long hair and wings. Ugh… another senshi… Grumbling as he stepped towards them, he summoned his keys and held them as a makeshift brass knuckle. He’d gotten a bit better at boxing over the past few weeks, at least to the point he was a bit more effective.

They seemed… crazed in a way as he looked them over. And… were those fangs? What kind of person was this that they let into the Negaverse. “They’re a bit farther away though I haven’t seen them and I doubt they can hear you.” His face flat and just a tiny bit bothered by the things they had said. He really didn’t trust these senshi, maybe a bit with Aoede but that was because he knew what made her tick in a way and saw how his cousin could get her to react and scramble.

“If I’m lucky they’ll hear me, they can certainly feel me.” And he’d make them feel a whole lot more soon. Smiling at the thought, at the idea of dealing with some order senshi, the corrupt was more than happy to approach the other with the intent of moving past him. “Your weapon, if you want to call it that, won’t do a thing to me so you might as well put it away.” Pressing his lips together and blowing, gentle and slow, he watched the chill air leave his lips. It wasn't from the cold of the city's winter but rather the chill which floated about him like a cloak. His own bit of passive magic chilled the air about him even more, allowing for what he’d just done.

“Are you planning to go senshi hunting or just gather energy all night?” Flicking his eyes towards the other as he breezed past him, planning to find that senshi for himself. “That one is weak enough, and not running away like they should.” He had them out classed, clearly, and they should be scared and fleeing but they hadn’t…that was interesting.

“And also, I’m not insane. I find I like intimidating and scaring them before I kill them, drags it out a bit but they still die in the end, one less senshi or knight at the end of the night. Now, are you just going to continue gathering energy or are you going to hunt them with me?”

Lowering his hands, he didn’t dismiss the ring of keys. It was good to keep a weapon out even if they weren’t really all that effective. The aura of cold around them made his skin prickle, that urge to do something to put an end to the whole lot of magic users bristled through him as he watched them but he knew that they were on the same side and he had to play nice and hold his tongue due to the hierarchy of things. This wasn’t his cousin and he had to be cordial, at least to a point just as he was at work even when faced with idiots who didn’t follow his orders and instructions about their treatments.

Motioning for them to go ahead, he figured he’d follow along. “After you, it’s not my place to interrupt your hunt as it were but it would be good for me to see how things go. A learning experience as it were I would say.” He’d not done the best when fighting against his cousin and he knew that he was at a disadvantage when it came to magic at the moment. It almost made him laugh though as they said they weren’t insane, it really felt like they were just confirming it by trying to deny it as anyone who was put into a ward would do to try and get out.

“I see, I prefer things dealt with quickly and efficiently but who am I to argue against a superior.” Trying not to hiss when that last word passed his lips, he really didn’t like this situation. He had to work hard to remedy this and climb the ranks so he wouldn’t have to rely on more senshi. He’d prefer a youma when it boiled down to it, at least they had a built-in leash.

Waving his hand a bit the long haired corrupt turned his blue eyes onto the other. “If you refer to me as a superior again I might actually go insane. I really dislike it, I might be an eternal but I’m still human as are you. You are allowed to be human and argue, at least when it comes to me.” He had earned his wings, yes, many did, but he didn’t need people listening to him just because of that. People should still question and argue things, especially if they thought they were right. He was a rebel at heart and yet was a member of the negaverse…which was far more organized than the other side. He’d left that side because of their lack of organization. It seemed to not fit with him being a rebel, to be on this side, but it fit him really. To rebel against the nature of his own starseed and whatever ancient past there had been. He had rebelled against the cat who brought him in and anything else which that side represented.

Turning and heading back behind some stores, the alleyway got a bit more narrow, he couldn’t help eyeing some people huddled up and raised a hand to gather energy from them. He was no doctor so didn’t bend to inspect them, to tell if any were sick, he couldn’t tell. They were likely back here though due to some vents that were pushing out warm air that kept the back area heated well. “Smart, staying warm back here.”

At least one had really bad ink on their face, and looked sunken in like a junkie. “Whoever did their ink…should have their tattoo machine taken from them. s**t quality from someone with no skill and no artistic talent.” Sniffing in disgust he turned his head away, whoever had done such a thing really was a disgrace and certainly no tattoo artist, if they worked in a shop they should be fired. To touch someone, to mark someone for life, and to have it look so bad…that was a sin if you asked him.

Waiting until they turned back away to continue forward, he narrowed his eyes at them. The sentiment made sense to him but he still preferred playing things safe and following the structured organization within the Negaverse. There had to be that rigidity to keep things from falling to chaos, at least at the lower ranks.

Looking over the huddled masses by the vents, he could see how sick most of them were. Between pockmarked faces and missing teeth, the effects of the drugs they used were clearly there. Taking a moment to drain a bit more after the senshi had gotten some, he was careful not to take too much more. Some of these people might not wake up again in this cold if they passed out.

It was odd, in a way, to hear that level of professionalism from another. A sense of pride in one's work just as he had huffed at his cousin’s less-than-ideal patch job and scars. The one with the sunken in face was the worst off though, after the draining from the senshi, he could tell that they wouldn’t make it through the night. Settling down in front of them, he set a hand on the man’s chest and pushed in to take their starseed. It would be better this way, a kinder end for someone who suffered. They barely made a noise as it was freed from their chest and Stichtite stood to follow the other again.

“Then what should I refer to you as, if not superior?” He had almost said witch, a knee-jerk habit that he still had. Dismissing the starseed to his subspace as he followed along and kept feeling out into the night for other signatures.

“Miyamoto, it’s easier.” He’d wrinkled his nose watching the other touch the person, they were dirty and could be carrying anything, not someone he’d ever let into his studio. It was perhaps for that reason, and his understanding of cleanliness which had him pulling a small thing of hand sanitizer from subspace and tossing it towards the other. “You should clean your hands, they are dirty.” Some people might scold him for the lack of compassion, because they were a homeless person, and he should pity them and be forgiving of them being dirty. He shouldn’t insult them and all other manner of things. He honestly didn’t care one bit about that. The truth was that they were dirty and could have any number of bacteria or anything else on them…he shuddered to think about it really.

Cleanliness was something he took seriously, he had to given his career, and it did enter other parts of his life. He was mindful of such things and there were certain things he didn’t tolerate well, this was one of them, especially if someone or something was dirty enough he wouldn’t allow it into his studio at all - no matter how much cleaning he’d do afterwards.

“And what shall I call you?” Glancing over his shoulder at the other as they did close in on the energy signature he was after tonight. Finally, as he turned back to look ahead of himself, he could see a figure up ahead of them. “Bingo…”
PostPosted: Tue Apr 09, 2024 9:10 pm

Already cleansing his hands with his the sanitizer in his subspace as the senshi said things. It was a habit of his, to keep things clean and as long as there wasn’t any physical grime the sanitizer would work well while in the field. “Stichtite then for me.”

He started wondering just what this senshi did outside of the Negaverse, it had to be some sort of tattooing or piercing job based on the snippets he’d heard and their modified teeth and ears. Even if he didn’t quite like the idea of tattoos, he could appreciate the process and level of cleanliness that was supposed to go into it. There was a level of clinical cleaning that had to go into things where blood and other bodily fluids might get spread around.

Peering around them, he saw the figure too and could tell there weren’t any others around. He’d seen Miyamoto with the frost and he wondered if it could freeze someone in place or what it might do. Either way, he would give them a good bit of space to work their wicked magic.

While he might spread a nice frost about himself, and chill the air as well, his magic wasn’t based on such really..not in the normal sense anyway. His sphere wasn’t what one might expect and unless they were familiar with the old story they wouldn’t see the connection. Not something which bothered him really, he expected it, so the senshi he was approaching wasn’t likely to know what to expect either.

Deciding to close the distance, and figuring the lieutenant was safe, he went for teleporting to get close enough to lash out with a fist aimed for the senshi’s face. Going right in for the kill he followed it up with his own magic. “Frozen blood.” The words a whisper as he stood right there knowing they had no way to escape at this close a distance. It would be enough to keep them from fighting back, he assumed, so he could grab a starseed and be done with them. Normally he didn’t mind dragging things out a bit but this would do just fine as well.
PostPosted: Tue Apr 09, 2024 9:11 pm

It was impressive to watch though he did take a step back as magic came out, as well as some sort of specter that wrapped around the other senshi. The whole thing was over quickly and he crept closer to see how they handled pulling a starseed. He’d read about teleporting, even if it was something that had been closed off to him but it was still interesting to see.

Staying just far enough away to not enter the area that the magic seemed to be effecting, he moved over a bit to get a good look at the senshi who was soon to be no more. It was a sight to see, watching two witches fight it out to the death. He could appreciate the effectiveness and speed with which Miyamoto had disabled the other. It would help prevent injuries and retaliation from the other’s magic most likely.

Stepping back as he watched the senshi drop to the ground he did consider shattering it, denying them rebirth, he could also turn it in. Decisions, decisions….which one to make. Holding the starseed in his hand he turned to look at the older male, holding it up with a smile. “My magic works well for causing people to pause, long enough to attack. It works on emotions…devastatingly well.” It meant he was suited well to work in a team, someone who could follow up his magic with an attack of their own, and while there was a lieutenant he could work with he didn’t typically.

He wasn’t going to bring Kai into things, the other wasn’t as aggressive or violent as he could be, and he didn’t want to scare the other away. It was still a surprise, to himself, that he’d even agreed to try dating someone. Till Kai he had figured he’d be just fine on his own with no need for a relationship, he didn’t do emotions very well, but he was getting better at the emotion thing.

“My magic is based on a Japanese folk story about a yokai, an icicle woman, who loved a human man and so stayed with him…till he got her to take a hot bath. She vanished, melted, but returned the next winter and found him remarried. Some stories say she left…others say she killed him. Either way my emotions cause intense loneliness.” Quite the feeling to get hit with suddenly and with no warning, it could easily leave a person stunned and unable to respond, it was how he took advantage of people like this little senshi just now.

Well, he could turn in the starseed…but who would really miss it and know it was gone. No one really. That in mind he stared down at the poor dying senshi and held the starseed for them to see. “Night, night little senshi. May you never be reborn.” And he did crush it to dust in his hand, staring down at them coldly.
PostPosted: Tue Apr 09, 2024 9:15 pm

“I see, does it effect your allies or just the target or targets?” Moving a bit closer as they stepped back towards him, he watched intently as they held the starseed. The explanation made him wonder how well it would work on him versus his cousin, given how often the smaller blond let his emotions take control of his actions and choices. “A yokai?” He’d heard the word before, similar to devils or demons if he remembered correctly.
“Sounds effective, especially for those who rarely feel lonely otherwise.” He didn’t trust it still but if it wasn’t exactly an all-out blast like the sound from Aoede, it would be a bit easier to swallow as something he could work around. Now that he stood next to them, looking down at the senshi on the ground, Stichtite smiled a bit at how easily they’d been put down.

He watched as Miyamoto crushed the thing, trying to figure out exactly how much force that had taken to do. It looked all too easy, like when one bumped a fluorescent tube too hard and it shattered into dust. “An end to the cycle, one less member of order to worry about.” One less witch…

“How many more are nearby? I know I may be a bit limited with my ability to pinpoint them but I’d like to try grabbing one of those for myself from a senshi. If you wouldn’t be opposed to assisting?” Raising an eyebrow as he nudged the senshi on the ground out of the way and towards the wall of the alley. Treating it like a pile of dog s**t as he looked down at them with disgust.

“Just those I want it to. So I can use it on our own, I have in training and when questioned on what my magic does, but I would never target our side otherwise. The Negaverse isn’t my enemy, I chose this side and gave up everything to do so.” The Negaverse had been his choice where as order had chosen him, he had not liked order.

“Yakai are Japanese demons…similar I suppose to European fae that cause mischief - at least in some cases. It’s the most similar I can think of. Though some, many really, are rather ridiculous in form and what they can do. Tea pot yokai and umbrella…” Rolling his eyes a bit as he spoke. “Then you have other ones like icicle women, snow women, split mouth women and others.” There were far too many yokai to keep track of, and he wasn’t about to ever learn them all, but he knew some of the more common ones as well as the more ridiculous ones. How could he not?

“Indeed, I would rather deny them rebirth if I can, though if in a pinch I will turn in a starseed.” he just wasn’t sure if that would also keep them from being reborn, he didn’t like to chance it. He had no problem with the fact some of these dead senshi and knights could be reborn and join the negaverse instead. That they might, if offered the chance, change sides now….like he had. He wasn't going to give them the chance. He wasn’t that kind and giving.

“A few…does rank matter to you or shal lI pick a lower ranked and easy target?” He questioned the other while his hands went back up the sleeves of his uniform, wanting to keep his hands nice and warm while they stood here. “Mmm, I don’t mind assisting. I hear it’s how the whole team work thing goes, though I’m not much for team work, if it’s needed to take down a senshi or knight I’ll do whatever it takes.” Including jumping from a building roof.
PostPosted: Tue Apr 09, 2024 9:18 pm

So he had their word, which to him, was flimsy. But otherwise, things had been going alright so far. Worst case he could call in his cousin if needed to handle a misunderstanding. But he couldn’t quite understand what they had meant by giving up everything to join. His life had barely been affected by joining but maybe they were one of those ones who was a turncoat of sorts. He’d only started reading into the information on that in the past day or so, managing to cordon off a time slot on the weekend where he would read through the tablet he had been provided before Alexandre would bring him out for gathering energy and a starseed here and there.

“Quite the variety of things though I wasn’t really one for folklore before. It may be a good idea to look into it since it seems that at least in your case and probably others, that folk tales have a real existence here. I know more of the Irish and European tales though so if you have any recommendations on books I wouldn’t mind looking into it.” It would be better to have a bit more information about these oddities since they were being shoved into his face now, to be better prepared and maybe he could drum up a few stories for the younger cousins of his when he went to family gatherings.

There it was again, talking about rebirth and how to end a cycle of it. Alexandre had said the same thing and he really didn’t believe in such a thing. But if it made sure an enemy was done with then he could get behind that, although the fact it meant things were off the record rubbed him a bit wrong. He couldn’t really say much though as he had kept his first starseed as well and would keep the first of each type for his research.

“Preferably one that I could assist with a bit more directly, I’d like to collect their starseed. So one that feels easy to pick off. To be fair I would prefer a team setting but that mainly has to do with my position as a medic.” Adjusting a bit as he cleaned his hands once more out of habit, the strong smell of alcohol-based sanitizer wafting up as he went. It still felt a bit cold out but it wasn’t terrible, his coat was honestly a bit too warm for his liking but like his weapon, it hadn’t been something he had a choice in.

“The Japanese culture has many kinds of demons and spirits, and I’d say they are only worth knowing incase a senshi has one as a sphere - like I do. The magic would be centered around some aspect of the spirit, or yokai, or the story itself. I know of a senshi of onryo who works for the dark mirror. I’ve no doubt her magic has roots in the many stories of onryo, as there are many stories of various onryo.” He supposed it was a good enough reason to look into fairytales and other things, as it gave an idea of what magic you might be facing. “I can look into suggestions for you to read, perhaps even websites, and I can send them on the communications device.” Which he rarely ever used, but he could see its use for something like this.

“I know little about European myths and folk stories.” Shrugging as he spoke honestly. He had no reason to know more than the bare bones basics, aside from when it came to the dullahan. He’d researched the hell out of that because he’d needed to for work, he took his job seriously, and at least with that fae he knew his s**t.

“Mm, that I can do. So we’ll go for someone equal in rank to you.” That way they couldn’t put up a fight and so he could easily render them useless with his own magic. It would let the Lieutenant get in and grab the starseed without too much issue. Letting his senses guide him he turned a bit and pointed. “Senshi that way, or there abouts, shouldn’t be too far off. They are equal to you in rank so they’ll be easy enough to handle.” At least he hoped so, unless they got physically violent and had some skill to back that up. Because he was not one who was skilled in hand to hand…he was just violent and had decent magic.
