Mechelen had been…tired since the events on Urania. She was glad she had been able to help, but there had been a lot going on, and honestly…she was still trying to figure it all out.

Chaos was such a tricky thing…and the fact that it could just…infect anything...was profoundly disturbing.

She was back at the park, had been looking for daffodils and there had been some more growth but not enough to really matter, but…

Things from up in Space worried her, and one of those things was the girl who Reims had been worried about. Was she okay? Was there lasting difficulties?

Pulling out a piece of the fancy stationary she had bought for situations like this, she began to write a quick note to the Ganymede Squire.

Hi! It’s Mechelen, I didn’t get a chance to talk to you up on Urania and I wanted to make sure that you and your friend was okay. You sounded super freaked out and I’m really glad that the wires weren’t on her for very long, but still, I can’t imagine if it had been someone I had gone up with.

I hope that you’re well! It was good to see you again, even if it was for a terrible time that involved everyone, I’m at the park right now where we met? I’ll be here for an hour or so maybe, I don’t know. The daffodils still aren’t up yet and I wish they would bloom already! I looked up your Wonder…so that I was making sure I spelled your name right, and the place in France is super cool! Mechelen is a place in Belgium, so go for old European cities! I’m not sure what they really have to do with our Wonders but…it’s a neat thing to think about!

She folded the paper carefully, but still managed to miss the center, and stamped her signet ring in the middle of the folded square like shape, after writing Reims’ name on the paper. And as the note vanished, she wrinkled her nose and went to the swing set, pushing off and relaxing as the night air blew around her.

The swinging was lovely for the first half hour, but when no Squire signature came into her sensing range…no signatures at all, really, she deflated slightly and hopped off the swing and instead climbed onto the jungle gym, laying down at the top and looking at the small patch of stars that were visible through the trees. It was a beautiful night, at the very least, and even if he didn’t show up, or write back, Mechelen was sure that he would someday...and that had to be enough for now.

Still, she wished that she at least knew that the other Squire was all right. Maybe she’d figure out some other way to find out, but in the mean time, she was going to head home for the night.

…After just a little bit more waiting.
