Huang’we was sitting and reading a book when a thought occurred to him, a familiar would be nice to have especially when Tahnee or his sister were busy. He hummed thoughtful as he tapped his chin with a finger. Perhaps he could invite Tahnee out to help him look for the suitable familiar for his lifestyle.
He tried to recall if Tahnee had given him a way to communicate with her but he couldn’t remember he would need to ask when she arrived if she wanted to help him.

Tahnee 1
She was restless at home. Everyone had sort of changed colors not long ago and she was eager to share the crazy news with Huang. Only one brother Ustasis had not gotten hit with the pollen from the tree, everyone else had had at least one thing change on them. She hoped he didn't mind that her crystals, eyes and skin were all a bit different than they had been the last time she had seen him. She was sure he wouldn't mind as he was her good friend but well it did still add a bit more nervousness to her visit, which she was a bit over due for. She rushed to his house once breakfast was done.
"Huang!" She called and waved as she got closer to him.

He blinked as he heard a familiar voice coming up the walk way. He set his book down before standing up to meet up with her as she came down. He hummed as he strolled towards her, he tilted his head to the side as he took a bit longer to look at her. There were subtle changes he noticed but ultimately it wasn’t too noticeable from a distance but as he got closer to her he started to fully notice “Tahnee! You look different somewhat” he said to her.
He couldn’t put his finger on what was different about her but there was definitely a slight change in her appearance.

"Yeah, about that, apparently the Aishan trees reached maturity and spit pollen over all of tendaji, only one of my brothers didn't get ' blessed' with different coloration. At least it didn't turn out too bad for me. All of my Dad changed and from what I hear many in the Matorian area were changed. You at least still look like you, for which I am grateful, it was a bit jarring to say the least." She felt better despite herself seeing him again. It was always good to see your friends and he was one of very few. She was a bit of a hermit and hung out with him and her family mostly. Maybe she would make it a goal to find a girl who was a friend so they could do girly things.

He nodded his head a bit “that makes sense I think, it sounds like I was lucky to just miss it.” He told her though he was somewhat sure his mother went through the same change but he hadn’t seen his mother yet so he couldn’t assume but his instincts told him otherwise he would need to see when he met up with his mother again. “I mean it’s not a dramatic change from what you looked like before but it’s a nice subtle change, i suppose” he said thinking about it.
“Anyway, I was just wondering if you wanted to go familiar shopping with me, just so I have a companion for when you or my sister are busy doing stuff on your own, but unfortunately I don’t know a whole lot of stuff about familiars, so I need to find out what type works for my lifestyle” he told her.

"Yes, I am glad that it was not too drastic a change for me too." She perked up at the mention of familiars. "Now familiars I can help with!" She belonged to a family full of beast charmers after all. "We could go to the ranch and you could pick one out, they have a little bit of everything? Or would you like to go to the town market beast vendor?" She was open for either. "Maybe I will get one too!" Critters were always fun after all and it would be nice to have a companion if Huang or her family were busy too. "I'm so very excited!" She was grateful he didn't seem to mind her changes, she had been so hopeful that he wouldn't care one way or another and he hadn't thank the gods.

He lightly smiled at her he liked the subtle change in her coloration but she was still the same person. "whew! okay good, at least one of us knows stuff about familiars, I was a little worried I would have to tackle looking for a familiar by myself, which would prove to be a challenge cause I know absolutely nothing about them" he said frowning a bit at himself.
"Oooh...maybe we can get the same ones but one can be a boy and one can be a girl," he said thinking about it, though he wouldn't force her to get the same familiar as he did if she didn't want to. "After we shop I will need a refreshing swim," he said to her.

"I know more than a little, I have 7 cousins who are beast chamers plus an uncle and aunt, I definitely have that covered." She had spent some time helping at the ranch too. "Plus Dad is one as well. My family is riddled with them."
"Nothing sounds better than familiar shopping and then swimming! And yeah if there are two we like, but if not I may get something different, it all depends on their stock." Swimming and new pets were the key to happiness so far as she was concerned. It was a really exciting prospect. "I am glad I can help!" The local vendor should have quite a few beasts in stock, they could go there and see if there was anything they liked and if not they could always continue on to the ranch.

“Oh wow! Your family must really like being around animals if most of them are beast charmers” he said thoughtfully. He had no qualms about most of Tahnee’s family were beast charmers if anything he respected their careers.
“I was originally going to consider being a beast charmer but now i kinda want to be a elemental magician” he said to her thinking about it. “Where do you recommend we start this hunt for familiars?” He asked her.

"Well seeing as I am already very excited, let us go to the market near us and see what they have to offer us. If the stock is subpar or not enough we can continue to my families' beast ranch on the other side of town there.
She hopped from foot to foot in her excitement. It wasn't every day you got to go familiar shopping. Her parents wouldn't mind if she brought one home, it could be with her all the time if it was small or in the barn if it was big.
"Come on lets go!" She pumped a fist in the air for emphasis. All of her anxiety about her coloration was gone with him not caring too much about it so she was free to frolick now.

He chuckled lightly at Tahnee’s excitement and nodded his head “sounds like a good idea to me” he told her enthusiastically. He frowned a bit of they did end up going to Tahnee’s parents farm he wondered if her parents would approve of him as her friend, that made the frown deepen a bit more given that it would be the first time he would meet her parents.
At the back of his mind he was worried about meeting her parents. “ Alright, alright we are going” he said with a grin before starting to head in the direction of the nearby market.

Thankfully they came upon the market pretty fast. She was super excited to get a familiar. “Oh Huang there it is!” She skipped along the road enjoying all the roadside flowers they wandered by. She had no idea what she wanted yet. Maybe there would just be a critter that spoke to her. Soon enough they were at the smallish beast market. “Oh oh what do you have in stock today?” She asked the portly merchant. She looked around but there were no critters immediately obvious, she thought that just a little bit strange but maybe they were all in the back as some shops preferred to do, especially in Matori on hot days. That was likely all it was. She should not be so nervous.

Once they reached the market he took a few moments to look around at the vendors before noticing that Tahnee spotted the beast market. “Alright—-“ before he could say something that acknowledged she had spotted the beast vendor Tahnee was already head over. He followed her over to the vendor and waited for the merchant to list off his beastly stock.

The merchant hitched up his pants and said. "Well now, well now, we have some perzi, some radaku, a janarim or two, three snaptrotters." As his stall was smallish they were housed in the back. He twisted a finger around his mustache. "What would you like to see?"
"Well I'd like to see the janarim and the snaptrotters maybe the radaku?" She looked at Huang. "Is there something else you want to see?" She wanted a pet she could ride and help carry her art supplies to far off places like hidden beaches so she could paint new scenes that were harder to get too on foot.
She also liked the protection factor of the big beasts, Matori was a relatively safe place but you never knew.

He tapped his chin thoughtfully “I would like to either see a snap trotter or a Zanteer” he answered. He wasn’t completely familiar with all the different species especially in the different areas of Tendaji, mainly because he hadn’t really taken the time to go to the library to read up on them so he wasn’t entirely sure what would suit his lifestyle in sauti. As well as one that he wouldn’t mind having with him at all times if it came to that situation, he only really wanted a companion for when Tahnee was busy so he wouldn’t feel so lonely.
