It had been over a year since Kyril last stepped foot on a Matori beach, but the hybrid felt just at home as she did in the forests of Tale now. The ocean breeze was a comfort, its presence cooling down her exposed shoulders that were soaking in the heat of the early afternoon sun. Her cotton dress swayed around her ankles, the laced sandals going all the way up towards her knees failing to hide the faded scar from her accident so many years ago which forced her to rely upon the staff that she used while walking across the beach. Still, there was a hint of grace that was only slightly marred by the occasional limp as she made her way around the area that she had been told about. It was somewhat close to her own family home, the town nearby and surely Kyril could spot the one iceling along the way. Her mother had told her about the family who had joined the school, Kyril coming down to visit before and catching a glimpse of them once or twice in an event throughout the years, but this was the first time that the glass artisan was coming over with the intent of working on something for them. She had offered to help her own family out with repairing some of the stained glasses in their own home and the topic of another manor had been brought up, Kyril hoping to work on some more pieces while she was here on a visit. It was also only fair considering how much her parents and siblings had been helping out her own children, Kyril constantly sending them down this way whenever they needed a break from the forest life. And On'os only knew how much trouble Ezili had caused during her visits here, which was even more reason for Kyril to want to offer something in return.
“Now where do I go from here?” She looked back and forth as she spotted a dividing path before taking a moment to simply enjoy the ocean view as she stood there. Leaning against her staff, Kyril stayed poised even with two satchels hanging from her shoulders that were also full of supplies for creating a design for any stained windows or glass pieces that she could make for the others today. “Let’s just take a moment and wait, shall we?” If anything surely Elka or Kayde could find her here if they were keeping an eye out for her and if not then her search would continue after a few more moments of rest.

Elka 1 The large window at the top of the stairs overlooked the front entrance to the large house. On either side of it were two more sets of stairs, each leading to the two different wings of the manor, one for Elka's family and one for Deric. Such an important piece of art that they all saw when they returned to their rooms at the end of the day or passed on their way down to breakfast. Or even just walking through the front door, it would stare down at them, as it was doing now to the Zenan woman. This was all fine, of course. That was its purpose. However, the problem was the window itself. Deric clearly had no artistic eye to think this a fitting addition to his newly built house. Kayde thought it was funny. Elka had quickly lost her patience with this....thing staring down at her with its yellow eyes. What was it even supposed to be? Was this the artist's first time working with glass? It appeared to maybe be a large cat of some sort, though even that was unclear with the long muzzle and droopy ears, as if the design had changed mid-way and the artist had been too lazy to adjust the entire window to it. She glared up at it, hoping it enjoyed its high position for as long as it still could. She would make sure it was hidden away in the darkness where it belonged.
Turning her back on it, the woman left the house to stand out on the front steps, brushing at the long skirt with the high slit that covered her legs. She was growing tired of waiting for Kayde to go bring the new artist back with him. She needed some fresh air. With luck, this one would do a better job than the last. She couldn't stare at that creature for much longer without smashing it herself. She stepped off the front porch and started down the path that led into the town, turning around a bend until the house was hidden behind the nearby mountain that helped to afford them the privacy she had come to enjoy. As she did, Elka spotted someone else and came to a stop to study them, not quite liking the idea of someone wandering around so close to her home. She decided to close the distance to "help" them along their way.
"Excuse me," she called out when she was close enough, adding an edge to her voice, trying to sound a bit intimidating despite her small size. "The town is in the opposite direction. Unless you have business down this way."

Kyril had finished enjoying her moment on the beach, the fading ocean breeze prompting her forward once more, and it was only when she had limped her way further up the path that she finally spotted the manor. And it was just in time for someone to call out to her, Kyril pausing with confusion before her lips curved upwards into an amused smile instead of the initial frown. "I think I might!" She called back, taking a couple more steps so that she didn't' have to yell more before stopping again and hoping that she didn't appear too intimidating towards the other woman especially as she leaned against her staff for support. "Are you Elka?" Kyril asked, her voice softening as she tried to not yell every word now that she was closer and the breeze had stilled.
"I'm sorry to appear so unexpectedly, but my mother sent me this way in case you had need of my services." Kyril quickly introduced herself, hoping to ease the other woman's mind rather than appear like some sort of intruder. "My name is Kyril and I'm Shadiya's daughter, it's nice to meet you." At least she hoped it wasn't too bold of an assumption considering Elka was probably the only iceling in this area of the beach, at least to what Kyril remembered before she left to go live in the forest near Tale with her husband. It would be rather awkward if this wasn't Elka, but Kyril could at least ask for directions if so. At least she hoped the other woman could do that much before chasing her down along the beach. Despite her limp and reliance upon the staff, Kyril hoped she didn't look like a complete mess with her casual attire still holding some exquisite stitching and accessories with even her long teal hair tied back into a braid with crystals and golden pieces woven in. Or would that be more suspicious like she was some wandering thief hoping to trick someone into allowing her closer? Oh well, let's just hope for the best.

Elka 2 The Zenan had stopped in her tracks, both eyes and eyebrows traveling towards her forehead in surprise. How'd she know her name? Oh, of course. A family like hers, a mix of Tale and Zena living in Matori, would easily attract attention. It was easier to hide when they had that tiny shack on the shore. Barely anyone paid attention to them, than. And why would they? There were forgettable. Not so when they now lived in a big manor, hidden away from sight behind the cliff. She bet she was the talk of the town, now.
Oh? That wasn't why? As the strange woman continued talking, introducing herself as the daughter of someone very familiar, a hollow pit formed in Elka's stomach. She should have guessed that. Wasn't she, just moments ago, thinking about this very thing?
"Oh...I am very sorry." The expression on the woman's face instantly softened, her hands waving about in front of her. "I...My husband left to meet you. I thought..." She pursed her lips, frowning. Where'd he go, than? There was only the one road from here to the main road. "Yes. I am Elka. I once more apologize. I don't like just anyone wandering around my family's home, you understand." She gestured behind her to indicate the cliff.

"Oh, no need to apologize!" Kyril shook her head in protest. "If anything then perhaps I should apologize for missing your husband." She smiled to try to ease Elka's spirits, just in case she had flustered her with her sudden appearance. "I did walk along the beach instead of taking a more direct route, I was enjoying the ocean after being away from Matori for so long." Kyril explained as she looked back towards the ocean as if to soak in the sight a moment longer before glancing over to Elka.
"Then once again it seems the apology lies with me." Kyril replied, her lips still curved upwards into a small smile. "I did wander in a bit carelessly, didn't I?" The hybrid leaned on her staff slightly as she glanced around. "I've been away for so long that I've forgotten a bit of etiquette. My home in Tale has a bit more neighbors and it's not uncommon to have a ranger wandering past, so I truly didn't think about things." Now if anyone else showed up in their village...that would be something else with how hidden they were and with how they kept up with patrols to protect against bandits and the like. Out here though? It would probably be fairly easy enough for someone to wander the wrong direction and walk towards this manor.The back of Kyril's neck warmed at the thought, the hybrid feeling a bit sheepish at her lack of concern when it came to wandering out this way. No wonder Elka had been so wary at first.
"I can always visit again if another time would work best. If you would like for me to work on a project while I'm visiting the area, that is." Kyril added, not wanting to try to appear as if she was pressuring a visit now if it wasn't a good time.
