It was a relaxing day in Matori, the storms of winter had cleared and he and Sarnai were having a lovely well deserved vacation day at the best beach. There were a few others out and about but for the best beach around it wasn't bad at all. He moved between the beach and the water, loving the drinks that were provided, for him just coconut water in half coconut but it amused him that they came with little paper umbrellas in multicolors.
He handed one of the half coconuts to Sar.
"Here I got this for you."
The sun shone brightly and he wondered if his new skin could possibly tan darker than the midnight it had turned into. He did kind of like how his crystals were purple though, that was pretty cool and mystical. A few other leaflings had gotten the purple crystals, mostly in his family. Maybe it was a new trademark for them. He liked how they looked in the sun but not as much as he liked watching Sarnai in the sun. She seemed more relaxed for obvious reasons, being free and all now.

He looked at her perplexed slightly, he had thought it was a good fresh one. "Is there something wrong with it? I can get you a different one." Coconuts were finicky sometimes even here where they were grown. They turned quickly in the heat. "Seems suspect if you are making that face Sar."

He looked at his own coconut and tested the flavor. "Hmm. Mine seems okay."

"Or would you like a water instead?" Hydration was important on hot days, his dark skin protected him and she shifted with the sun but it was still possible to get dehydrated quickly.

"Pretty crispy out today isn't it?" Most days in Matori were, he didn't know how the folks in Zena and Sauti did it. It was far too cold up there for him.

"That could be, I hope not though." He looked at her with marked concern. "Well if you feel icky at any point let me know and we can head back in." It was a truly lovely day but life just wasn't fun when your partner was feeling under the weather.

"At least it is just the smell." He was oblivious to the idea that it could be anything else at the moment. But given enough clues he might work it out. He hadn't been around all that much when Thea got pregnant the last few times. He was somewhat unaware of the signs and not yet thinking along the right lines.

He sipped his drink and enjoyed the sunshine with his beloved. "Great day though I must say, especially here with you." He winked playfully. Life could just not get better than this in his opinion.

He squinted at her, squinted at the coconut. Paused to feel her forehead then leaned back to ponder some of the lore and stories he had heard over the years. He put the coconut down. It did have a strong scent but a healthy coconutty scent.

"You don't think it might be..er do to our recent activities a while ago?" He waggled his eyebrows playfully so she would catch his drift. "It is a symptom of pregnancy so I hear, though I am by no means an expert but as long as I have known you I haven't seen you catch even a cold...maybe it was me you caught?"

He tilted his head to the side, wondering and then it looked like the sun came out across his face. "I would be very happy if that were the case." He cuddled up closer too her. Needing to feel the warmth of her body even on the hot day. He liked being close to her, he was happy she had agreed to be his mate and that she too wanted babies.

"At least you are not getting sick, at most we will have new family soon." He grinned as he stared off to sea. "I sure hope they look like you Sar, they probably will, as I have a bit of shifter blood as well..somewhere in here." He blushed a bit. "Parents...we are going to be parents. I am ready, I want to be the best Dad out there." Lynx had come from behind and beaten him to the punch, Zasha was still standing in the starting gate, he wasn't sure what Zoh was up to and well the other two siblings were way too young. He wondered if his parents would have more or if they were finally done. Mom looked non the worse for wear and he thought his Dad probably finally felt he had enough kids with her that most beautiful mother of his.
To him Sar was even more beautiful, then again he looked a lot like his Mom...or at least he had before the tree pollen got him. At least he had kept the silver hair and shifter eyes, he would have felt even more creeped out had either of those aspects changed. "Are you okay?" He asked her, it was big news and he wanted to make sure she felt alright, besides the anticoconut feelings.

"I though it took a bit more time than it did, I know it did for the most part with my parents...maybe not with me and Lynx though, could be we just ..got the timing right or something. I'm sorry we didn't get to have a bit more fun but I am excited about the prospect." He smooched her on the hair, hoping she wouldn't freak out because it happened so fast.

"The gods smile favor on us I suppose." It hadn't taken too long for Lynx to become a Dad either. He and Sar had had differing circumstances for most of their relationship. Now they were free. Now they were going to be parents. "I'm sure Mom could help if you have any questions, she has had enough of us."
There were Darochduri's everywhere, most of them full siblings too and all graced with their mothers dark fire skin, besides those of them that had been pollen dusted it was fire skin just a bit darker. "Maybe the kid will get fancy purple crystals and I won't be such a weirdo?"

"Indubitably, they will be weird." He grinned at her. "I hope they look more like you though, less questions most of the time. If they come out Sar clones I will be happy."

He nudged the coconut drink further away from her and brought her some water instead. "Maybe this won't irritate your sensitive nose as much, I wonder if our kid won't like coconut either, it is a very aquired taste I feel." He didn't mind it but he didn't much like it when he was young.

"You know there is a possibility we will have twins, what if they are identical? We going to give them matching outfits so we can tell the little stinkers apart?" He hoped they had twins, identical or not at least he knew how to handle them..they couldn't be handled that was the secret.

"We certainly had a lot of fun with our family and we moved too fast to put name tags on. I miss being identical but now that I am different it is sort of nice."

"Identical twins can be a lot to handle, at least you would have someone who could help figure them out. Though the synergy is intense especially if identical." He drank water too, it was smart on such a hot day. Of course he drank her coconut juice too because waste not want not.

"I hope nothing else bothers you either, maybe the healer will have a little insight when you go to visit them." They were the true authority on the subject, he certainly was not an expert.

"My sister might be a bit miffed, her mate is a bit oblivious and Mom teases her about it. I've never seen Zasha that mad I was surprised that there were not fireballs involved."
