Kechiri 1 They were out at sea making good on their avoid civilization promise from before. It was odd to have the whole ship to just herself and him but it was also the most fun and exhilarating thing to have the sea to herself and him to herself. Thankfully he did not seem to turn green around the gills, of course the waves were not overly high at the moment but there it was. The weather was holding out with clear skies and warm Matorian sun. She had a few fishing lines running of the sides in the hope that they were moving fast enough to tempt some marine predatory fish right onto that nights dinner table.
There were a few small islands scattered about and it was up to them to find one before nightfall. For now she was exhilarating in the run. Good wind, calm seas, what more could she ask for really?
She grinned evilly as she thought about what the rest of the day and night would bring. The fish remained unresponsive but she already had her catch.

Raolvar 1 So far so good. It was definitely still a novelty to him to be this far our from land but as it was he wasn't feeling sick so that made a big difference. The wide expanse of blue was a far cry from his usual surroundings of a sea of green leaves or needles but it made up for it with flying fish and dolphins, the occassional wild snaptrotter scything its way through Matori's crystal clear waters. When he wasn't staring out at the ocean he was watching Kechi work. Sailing as it turned out was more complex than he had ever thought. Add to that the ability to navigate without the best landmarks was something else entirely. He helped as directed and tried his best to just stay on board where he belonged. He had brought Xerius along, he never went anywhere without him. The radaku ranged back and forth looking over the rail, while Undine slept and Riptide spent his time sunning and fishing off deck respectively, he was always able to catch up with the ship. It must be fun down there. He himself looked over the rail to watch the snapper glide and snap at schools of fish as they tried to hide under the ship.

Kechiri 2 An island chain that looked likely came into sight and she called Raolvar over to her at the helm promptly and handed him the spyglass after taking a good long look herself at the formation and checking for any reefs that might injure her craft. "What do you think? Should we try one of these land spits?" She wanted him to choose as she had this opportunity all the time and it was a first for him to be on the ocean, especially this far out. Fishing in small craft near shore did not count, not at all. The weather was holding and thus it should be safe enough to approach one of the islands. There were about three, each a different shape from the last and all offering something likely a little different from each other. She was most intrigued and eager to get onto shore with him to look for a snaptrotter ...among..other things. Riptide had just piled back on board looking self satisfied with a belly full of fish.

R2 He took the spyglass from her reverently. It was exciting and very sailory to look through the thing and see so far away. He scrunched up his face, teeth slightly bared, closing one eye to get the best look possible. Each island was unique all had their own weird shape to them. The one closest to them was round with what looked like a sandy bay on one side. The middle island was long and narrow, like someone had drawn a line on the sea using a land paint brush. This looked the most attractive and interesting to him for some reason. He checked out the final island which was large and rocky and looked rather uncomfortable to him. "I say we head to the narrow one and see what we can find, it looks easily traversable and there appears to be a creek outlet heading for the sea from inland." Fresh water was always a good thing to consider as the sea itself was a form of fresh water desert as odd a concept as that was to think about. He wondered how sea life that couldn't walk coped with the hearty saltiness. He had taken a drop of water and touched it too his tongue and that was his salt intake for a day at least, yeck.

K3 She attempted to sail to the straight line island but they were stymied by a hidden reef that the keel of her hull would not permit them to pass. Gyrfalcon was an ocean going ship, she was not built for scudding over sharp reefs. Kechi was not want to loose yet another ship beneath the waves, as fun as being shipwrecked with him and their pets would be. It would also leave them sitting ducks for anyone wanting to loot them for whatever they had. Which was only food and themselves, poor plunder for bored pirates in any case. Kechi turned the ship around. "The reef is too high, we will have to try the round island, the bay might just protect us if there is a storm too." She loved sharp turns, grinning as her one man crew was forced to hold on to something. Sloops turned quickly and were fast making them ideal for her line of work. Send a sloop to catch a sloop. Plus they were easier than a large ship would be to man with two crew. The round island neared and she looked at it with speculation.

R3 Raolvar set the anchor as he had been instructed and it landed with a satisfying plop in the water aft deck. They were in the sheltered water of the harbor now. Kechiri had brought them in with expert skill, though she had been amused at how he had to cling to the rail as they turned. Cheeky woman that she was. He grinned. He liked a little fire apparently. It brought a whole new meaning to swept of ones' feet after all. There was more than one way to bone a fish. They lowered a ladder but both of them chose to dive off the side of the ship into the water. They were greeted by a thriving variety of sealife that often congregated around islands for the added shelter that they provided. Zanteer swam about foraging and the odd snaptrotter or two forged ahead. Their beasts dropped, one after another into the water after them. The janarim was less than pleased but he could swim that far at least. It took forever for armor plating to dry out and salt made him itch.

K4 After they had made it to shore she noticed a forboding but familiar shadow in the water offshore. "Frigging Bob is out again." She waved a hand in rejection of that fact. It was very hard to contain a Yaotl and it was after all their breeding season. Grandpa would have to be informed at some point. The island was full of healthy coconut tress, their sheltered harbor, a set of cliffs on the opposite end of the island which would be good defense wise, a cute hidden beach and many many crabs. They would not go hungry here even if they had poor luck fishing. Riptide strode out of the water with a big silverback fish flapping in his jaws. Good to see someone was already having fun. "Want to go spearfishing?" They had looked over the island and had found no threats and it would be good to get some fresh meat available even if it was just fish. She had eaten a lifetime share of fish but somehow when he cooked it it was alright.

R4 There had been plenty of wildlife on the island. Many scampering Zanteer, one of which had taken the time to tease them. He definitely did not want one of those they looked like more trouble than they were worth. He crossed his eyes at the thought of it stealing food or his slippers. He loved his hide slippers. He had spent hours making them and hours rubbing the leather until they were heavenly soft. No a snaptrotter would make much more sense to him. He already had one furry mammal he didn't need another one but a water type critter with nonshedding scales was just what the beast charmer ordered. Except he wasn't one and neither was she. But he did well enough with Xerius and she had two critters already so that put them beyond no experience, though Xerius and Undine had been bought she had tamed Riptide herself. She had told him the story on the way over. And that was the exact species he was after so he thought they would probably be okay. There had been quite a few nests scattered about near the water. The domed mounds hard to miss with the angry Mama's attending. He felt confident they would be okay. "You don't want to set up camp first?" He supposed they had the ship if nothing else, they could just as well sleep there their first night.

K5 "No I don't want to build camp first. That is boring, we are here to enjoy, plus we have the already kitted floating camp over there if we get desperate. The sooner we fish the sooner we eat the sooner we can find your snaptrotter." She was already scuttling toward the ocean, her eyes dancing with light and fire. "If you can catch me you can kiss me!" Bob probably wouldn't bother them, he had..other things on his amphibious mind and well she did too. Spring was upon them and she hadn't been drinking that tea that Aunty Ein made to help the woman on the ranch keep from getting pregnant. She wanted this man's children like she wanted her next breath. A new generation, a continuation, her children, their children. Her hormones and girlish heart had finally reared within her and what she had thought impossible had become more than probable. She was so ready to be pregnant. To see her perfect flat belly swell with the promise of a future. Ushiruin might be taking her shifts for a very very long time.

R5 Asking no further he raced after her into the water. She was fast but he was faster, just as their feet hit the water, he caught her and swung her into a devastating kiss that had both of their eyes clouding over with passion. "Mmm spearfishing." He mumbled as he nibbled his way down her neck. "What say I already caught my fish hmm?" He was highly distracted and they had eaten well before making it to the island, plus there were food stores aboard, what was the harm in a little extracurricular activity before they used up all their pent up energy swimming. He ran his hands lovingly up her back. She was back to her regular muscular shape as opposed to the wraith he had found her as in the bush. He was happy she was doing better. If anything she was more beautiful than ever. Before they got too far, she pushed at his shoulder and he stopped, confused. "Mmm?" He asked not as articulate as he could be. "Are you okay love?"

K6 "Before we go any further, you should know that I haven't had enough access to that contraceptive tea, however if you are willing..I would like at this point to try for children. I had never thought that I would want them much before now, but with you.." She dipped her head down. He was the perfect mate for her, the perfect man and she could express it no other way. She pressed her lips firmly to his. "I want your children Raolvar, and I want them now. I will cease my current protection activities, Ushiruin can take over until Theriar can find another replacement, my crew can be disbanded for a bit. I want to enter the next step, the next phase, to bear us children." She nibbled on his lower lip as she watched the fire of passion burn in his eyes. "I want this more than anything I have before, and trust me when I say it is a lot. If you are not ready I understand. But if you are, there will be no turning back, for either of us." She held her breath and waited for his reply, feeling quite utterly vulnerable like a gunless ship.

R6 His heart skipped more than a few beats and he may have stopped breathing for a moment. He answered her the best way possible by picking her up and kissing her there on that shore. He was so happy he could not express it with words. Yet. After a while he was again in charge of his vocabulary. "Well, lets get right on that shall we?" There would be no snorkelling for the next little bit. He felt like an entirely new being. "You have made me so happy Kechiri, I can't even express myself properly. I love you and I can't wait to have kids with you. I do agree that perhaps your current job isn't the best at the moment but when the children are born they will have all of their Mothers' attention." They lounged for a bit on the beach..."enjoying" each others company. After they lay and watched the clouds scud across the sky and he felt a gladness in his heart that he had never had before. A fullness that had been missing since he lost his original family. Now he would have a new one, all of their own. On that note he rolled over to her and they started all over again.

K7 Well that certainly answered that question. She grinned. "Now! Time for fishing, lets go ranger!" She yanked him upright and they both rushed into the water spearguns in hand. There was a great variety of fish about. It was lush here and nearly untouched because of how far out they were in the sea. Huge schools swam lazily about occassionaly harried by predators and occasssionally harried by them. She took a deep breath at the surface and caught a fish that struggled mightily, she started to swim for shore least she attract unwanted guests and paused when a looming long sinuous shape moved out of the gloom. At first she thought it was Bob come back to make a liar out of her but it was different. An eel like creature that their kahi friends had talked about, they were otherwise known as Nahiis. She blew a curious bubble. Maybe Bob had chased it after it had gotten blown off course from wherever it was from. Things in the sea were strange and just as land could get creatures blown off course so too could animals in the sea. You are a long way from home, she thought.

R7 He saw her land the fish and then almost swallowed sea water when the nahii arrived. Well that was odd, he had never seen nor heard of the like before. (He did not have Kahi friends like she did. Plus she tended to make it her business to learn everything about the sea for obvious reasons.) They both headed toward shore, as the nahii was definitely after her catch. Upon reaching the sand he promptly asked. "Any idea what that was and what is it doing here? I've never heard of anything like it before." He was stumped and curious and really hoping that she would have the answer. He took her fish off the spear and dispatched it, walking back out with the guts to feed their new 'friend'. The eel had been kind enough not to eat his woman therefore it could have the left overs that they would not be making use of over the fire. It did not take long for the shape to approach hesitantly and he smiled as it ate the fish bits. "Kechi, its back! And its oddly pretty!"

K8 She waded out to meet him and take a closer look at the creature that had scared her just a bit. "I like the way it moves, perhaps we can help him get back home or he could stay and be a pet?" She took some of the fish guts from him and baited the creature closer, running a hand along its sides. The eel took the affection with the promise of fishy bits. She took care to keep her hands away from its mouth. "This is a Nahii, they usually like really deep water, this one probably got caught in a current, then chased by my families perpetually escaped Yaotl." It was a deep rich purple color with lime and yellow markings, it was such a bright and happy looking critter to live so deep down. "When we get back I will ask our Kahi friends about them. They have two of their own. I hope he won't get sick being so close to the surface, I am also determined to keep him even if we have to chum the water all the way home." She liked this purple critter very much so. And she was in an adopt everything sort of mood at the moment.
