Saeruin 1
She had brought her son a basket of food because the darn boy had run out of the house before breakfast and had not returned for lunch either. She had closed the forge for a while and so had enough time to worry about those in her family.
Her daughter was off galivanting instead of doing her job, Ushiruin was so consumed by his passions that he forgot to eat. Why had she had her head in the coals for so long?
She might have the forge closed for a while to refresh her creative talents and correct any wrongs that had popped up in her family. She would have to tell her mate about these odd disturbances.
Boy would he have something to say on the matter, especially that which involved Kechiri. Her feet hit the sand and she called to her son who was feeding what Daanu called his sideways fish. Whatever that meant.

Ushiruin 1
He turned to see his mother about where Daanu had stood just the other day. "Oh hi Mom, what brings you out here?" He was feeding his beasties and was loathe to leave the water but well, she was his mother. His critters were just babies and nothing to what he would actually be able to summon one day but he was greatly enjoying the bond with them, slow and sure it was building up.
He saw she had a basket, likely full of people food and his stomach rumbled. Oh yeah, breakfast.. he had been too busy again to have it. That was not good. He dumped the chum buckets out. His critters would enjoy the otherworldly feast and he could munch at talk with his mother. Her forge had sat cold for a while and he wondered what was going on with her. He was closer to her than to Dad, though Dad was coming around. And Kechiri was closer to Dad too but she had been gone for a long time leaving him her pirating pirates job.

"Food, my son, food. You tend to forget to eat, but never forget to feed your...sideways fish," It still felt awkward to say but Daanu had explained it to her..kinda, she was still unsure she quite understood what was going on out there in the waves, but then she had no magic and but little understanding of it and Ushiruin and Daanu leaked it from every pour. She was so very proud of them but they weilded forces that she and their father couldn't quite understand. Ushiruin had chosen a somewhat obscure (at least in their neighborhood), type of summoner class that had to do with the sea and tentacles and waves and well, she would never properly understand likely.
She held out the basket to him and waited while he unpacked it. She nibbled on some cheese and crackers as she had had breakfast at the appointed time in the required amounts to fuel her day until lunch when the whole food making process for a large family would start again, and it was her duty to see them all fed.

He unpacked the food from the lovingly wrapped basket of goodies and proceeded to eat like well, like he had skipped breakfast.
"My gods, I hadn't realized how hungry I was." He hugged his mom while still sitting down. "Thank you I sure appreciate you and all that you do for our family. It must be hard keeping track of so many Saewa's," that was his new nickname for their particular branch of the Ninyelts, since his own name had stolen the inverse.
"I don't know how you do it mom, though I see why you gave up on tracking Kechi, at least in the ways that she sees. I think she got more of Dad than we all realized. He was a bit like his mom and a bit like Dad but also a bit like Uncle Thal and Aunty Ein, he was dynamic and Kechi was a bit crazy and a lot like Dad. "I hope she is doing good on whatever adventure she has run off on." He often thought about his sister, everyone else was much easier for him and his Mom to keep tabs on.

"Me too, it is no surprise that I worry about your sister the most and she cares not for my worry." Her daughter and she had a somewhat prickly relationship. Though she was glad to see that Ushiruin and Ushiwa were on better terms, perhaps there was hope for her and Kechiri yet.
"I have never been able to figure your sister out." Lord knows where her daughter had gotten the stubborness from. Saeruin blushed at her own lie to herself but then giggled a bit.
"Wonder where on the seas she managed to go, I know she was right cranky after the pirate incident and dealt with that, perhaps she is still processing the loss of that first ship though one would think she would be over it by now now that she has that new ship hey?" Perhaps Ushiruin knew more than she did.

"I have no idea, she just took off one day after booting her whole crew off the ship, apparently there was an iceling male with her that the crew had not seen before, it would make sense if she were after a significant amount of treasure, you can sail a small sloop like that with two people, she did tell me I was to be on pirate duty. Theriar has since hired a few new people to do that job and that is the only reason why I have any free time at all now."
His goofy sister was highly unpredictable that had not changed. "I didn't see the iceling before you ask so I have no idea who it is or their general purpose this is all just speculation."
The food was finished and he tiedied up the basket for his mom who had a look of very scary concentration on her face. He was somewhat concerned.
"Are you okay?"

"You know, it might be treasure hunting, or it might be a different kind of treasure altogether. You know how private your sister is with things...maybe, just maybe she found someone who can stand her overnight if you know what I mean. What does she want more than a proper mate after years and years of one night stands?"
Saeruin fidgeted with her hands, her stomach roiling. "Maybe I will get grandchildren yet?" She looked at Ushiruin hopefully. "What about you? Are you going to give me grandchildren at some point? Any prospects out there that look likely?" She was a hopefull mom and they were both old enough now, Elaxi was still afraid of her own shadow and Daanu, well she was not sure if Daanu would stop thinking hard to even notice people of the opposite gender existed and she was also too young still. But something told Sae that that was going to be an end road.

"Me? How on earth did you turn so fast onto that?" He was flustered to say the least. "I have to get better at my job so that if I ever do find someone that I want to start a family with and no promises that I can support said family."
There was a water/leaf/wind girl in town with two different colored eyes that he was flirting steadily with and it was going places but his Mom didn't have to know about that. Katriana was his little secret. She worked the local pub and he drank well and often. She always had such a sweet smile for him and well why not he was gorgeous.
HIs blush betold his lie though, it was very hard to lie to your Mother when she could sniff them out with the slightest off twitch. His eyes grew wide as he noticed the fire in hers.

"Yes you! You are much less prickly than your sister, it should be much easier for you Ushiruin." She latched onto the signs.
"Alright who is she, what is her profession, I expect a full profile." She squinted at him. "Don't leave anything out my son, as I will know." She tilted his chin up and looked into his eyes. "Boy?"
This was the future of hers and Ushiwa's bloodline, after all, important work but more so she was in it for the secret gossip. There was no one more interesting than ones own children.
"What about if your father and I gave you another sibling. It is something I have been thinking of, perhaps I just have baby fever." She smoothed his hair back and squished his cheeks. "You used to be so cute and you came out so handsome, can you blame me for wanting more?"

He sighed, so much for the sister inquisition it was his turn now. "Her name is Katriana and she is a water leaf wind hybrid with a green eye and a blue eye. But we have done nothing more than flirt. She works at the pub and you are forbidden from going there to pester her, I'm working on it."
"As for your other question I would love to have another sibling, but maybe don't make this next one too spicey. Daanu and Elaxi and Kechiri are wonderful but you went a little spice heavy on that oldest sister of mine." He winked. "But seriously leave my potential future girlfriend alone and don't send Grandma Nin or Dad in your place that is cheating and will ruin the game. If this is to be done it is going to be by my hand not any of yours." He placed his hand on hers to show her he cared but he had to be firm. Or she would stick her snoot where it didn't belong, aka in his love life.

"I'm just surprised all of you are not spicey, what with how your father is." She rubbed her hands together well at least two of her children had hope of giving her grandkids. And Ushiruin wouldn't mind another sibling, she was sure that all of her kids would be okay with another sibling, it probably wouldn't happen for a while anyway, which was okay with her, more time for adventures, but another child was always lurking in the back of her mind.
"Very well, I will keep my nose out of your business, I trust you will not do anything foolish until the girl is properly together with you." Young people could be a bit rash sometimes and there were somethings that were irreversable, as much as she wanted grandkids she wanted everyone ready for it.
"Anything else in your life I should know about my son?"

"I don't think so, nothing spectacularly interesting anyway, just getting used to my new powers and building them over time and of course helping with my chores on the ranch. I do think I will be traveling soon at some point. You know the urge to wander seems to have hit half of your children. Elaxi's wandering being not voluntary, I see why she spends so much of her time at home and Daanu is always doing a big think. I think she is smarter than any of us, she just shows it in a different way."
He had had a really good conversation with her and she had brought him a fascinating book that he was able to discern talked aboud clensing spaces before you worked summoning magic in them. At the time Daanu had been confused as to how he could read it but how it gave Uncle Viltre, an actual bookworm a headache. He was not sure he had been able to answer everything to Daanu's exacting requirements for information but he had done his best.

"Mmm, very well, would you care to accompany me to the market. And keep in mind before you travel, make sure you tell someone in the family where you are going." Her eyes sparked with unsaid energy so he would know to whom he was to tell that he was going. "At least if it is a very far journey so that we know in which direction to look if you need help or get lost or whatever." She had lost one daughter for years, she kept tabs on all of her children now. Not that she had had much choice in Elaxi's capture. She still had mental scars and they would likely not fade for many many years to come.
"We require some goods that are not huntable or fishable." The family ate a variety of flowers and chose not to grow certain vegetables because of the climate they lived in, how busy they were and how readily available and cost effective it was to get them from the market.

"You know a market stroll might be just what I need." He had been a bit fuzzy brained lately so perhaps it would be good to take a short break from training. Besides it was nice to spend some time with his mother, at least when she wasn't grilling him about prospective girlfriends and his nonexistant love life. Though he could understand her point he had no idea if it would get beyond a first name basis with the girl in the pub and he was okay with it either way it went. He would find the one out there for him in his own due time thank you very much.
Besides he had plenty to keep him occupied, he had his father's sharp mind and his mother's sheer determination what could go wrong after all.
He could accomplish anything he put his mind too. Perhaps he would drag some of his friends out for an adventure one of these days.

She was pleased that he would come with her shopping. Part of the point of putting the forge to bed for a bit was to get to spend more time with her family. Saeruin had spent many years working with iron and gold and silver and a great deal many other metals. Now all she wanted for the near future was to work and be around her family before taking up her hammer again. She had worked her butt off and had burnt herself out to a certain extent.
A market day with her son was what she was really excited about. He had become a bit busier after growing from youngling to a right little magic user. She adored him so and she caught him in her arms and went up on her toe tips to smooch his cheek. "I love you my son." She was closest to Ushiruin. Something about mother and only son. She coudn't explain it, but there it was. Kechiri was strongly bonded with Ushiwa, they shared similar personalities and the other two girls were shared mostly equally.
