Gwen had been mingling and chatting with people as they came into the gallery. The room had an ebb and flow with foot traffic and right now, it was more calm and relaxing. Many people had shown different levels of interest in her work. The woman was under no impression that her was some of the best presented, but she was proud to just have managed to be accepted into the gallery. Sketches certainly weren’t the most exciting of works. Not everyone could appreciate the beauty in the messiness of them. And while her singular water color had a bit more attention, it was clear she needed to improve upon her technique and supply quality. One thing she could work on now, the other…well…it would take time until she could feel right with spending money on something like high-quality paints. She made due with what she could find.
With the gallery being quieter, and Gwen free from discussing her art with anyone, she was a bit to take time to just look around the hall. People watching was always a fun hobby, and she’d recognized a few people at the event so far. In fact, her gaze found a head of brown hair connected to a face she had met long ago and had spoken to only months prior. A smile colored her face as the man and his companion meandered their way over to her, gazing at things as they went.
When Ignacio’s gaze happened to slip her way Gwen gave a wave. With a clearer view of him and the man at his side, Gwen couldn’t help but note how close the two seemed to stick together and the ease they felt in each other’s presence. Just the way they moved and spoke to each other said a lot and piqued Gwen’s interest.
“It’s great to see you again, Ignacio.” She said in greeting when the two finally walked up to her. Her excitement of seeing more familiar faces was evident. “It’s been awhile.”
Her eyes moved to Ignacio’s companion. Gwen was pretty sure this man had hair more abundant and impressive than her own. He certainly was a looker with those long auburn locks, blue eyes and warm skin tone. A handsome man for another handsome man? Gwen wasn’t quite sure…
“Gweneth Malley.” She offered as she held a hand out. “Please just call me Gwen though.”

Ignacio felt at ease just walking around an artist event like this, hand in hand with his husband (husband!) on occasion when he wasn't getting distracted by every display and slipping off. He knew there were some people who were noticing who he was--in some ways, he relished it, in other ways he wanted just to be left alone--but it wasn't disrupting the vibes. The music was nice. The art was stellar. The gallery was prepped for this, and it was good. For Ignacio, it reminded him of his earlier days in the arts scenes. His goals were different now, considering he had geared towards movies years ago, but it was good to be part of this. Even if he had to throw a wink at someone as he walked alongside Richard. Charisma came naturally. ... Wait, was that-- "Oh!" Ignacio quickly grabbed Richard's hand with his freckled one, pulling him slightly closer and murmuring, "Remember when I helped an old friend clear an... Infection?" Chaos infestation. Sidhes. He couldn't exactly talk about that explicitly. Too many eyes. Too many ears. "That's her." That was all the explanation Richard got before Ignacio was off to go talk to Gwen. He presumed Richard would keep in lockstep. "It has been!!" Had he seen her after the events on her wonder? Ignacio didn't think he had... How was she doing? Had she recovered alright? He still remembered where he originally ran into her in that dilapidated building, looking for him to help her find something from his world... It had clearly worked, but-- "Good to see you here. Sales going well?" When she offered her hand to Richard, he shot Richard and then Gwen a grin. "I'll let him introduce myself." It had been years, but there was still a small part of him that felt some silly glee when Richard introduced himself as Ignacio's husband. Maybe it was because he wasn't ever sure if he'd get that far after he witnessed his hands become long and green and mutated and-- anyway.

Richard had been content to just walk around the event, listening to the music and looking at the art. He was especially keen to look at the craftsmen booths and peruse whatever they had for sale. It was to this end that his other hand—the one not holding Ignacio’s—was holding the handles of a brown paper bag with several items inside. He was debating going back to a booth with some fantastic wind chimes. Then Ignacio pulled him toward something else and Richard decided he’d have to make a mental note about that wind chime booth. He just had to not forget about it— Richard liked meeting Ignacio’s friends. This was no different. When she held her hand out to him, he took it readily for a shake with a warm smile. “Hi Gwen, I’m Richard, Ignacio’s husband. You can call me by my middle name though—that’s Arra.” The way Ignacio had said “infection” and the fact that Ignacio was also not a doctor told Richard what the issue had probably been, which was enough for him to remember Ignacio mentioning her. He met and heard about a lot of people nowadays— “Are you having fun?”

Gwen smiled. "I've spoken to a few people about some commissions." She said as a way to bypass the question in a way. While people had been interested in what she had to show, many were more interested in the more polished finished works of the artists around her. Though there had been two people that discussed possible future work. Nothing was set in stone though, but she'd given them her number to reach out when they were ready.
At Richard's introduction Gwen couldn't help the grin that swept across her face. Husband! She should have guessed. Ignacio certainly had a good eye, and Richard seemed very pleasant. She shook his hand.
"Oh, for sure." She chuckled. "If I get nothing else out of this than being warm, meeting new people and seeing some old friends, that's good enough for me. The exhibits and other artists here have been a lot of fun to look at."
The gallery as a whole was growing sparse and a loud rumbling in her stomach had he pressing a hand to her tummy and blushing slightly at the sound. "Sorry about that. I haven't had a chance to eat since this all started this morning."
"If you two are interested, the buffet is a room over I believe. We can maybe find a quiet table? It won't hurt if I step away for a bit. I'll just put my stuff away for now."

Commissions weren't a bad thing! That meant she had at least some people interested enough in her work to become patrons of her work--did she have one of those platforms? anyway--which was good. It meant she had some promise of earnings ahead, at least, and earnings for something she was passionate about. Hopefully, that would be enough... Hopefully, the interest was enough to become something. Ignacio worked in the arts, at least adjacent to it. He knew when the interest after his audition wasn't going to go anywhere. Not that it really mattered now-- Gwen grinned, and Ignacio couldn't quite help a pleased little wiggle at that. It was good to hear she was at the very least having a good time -- "It is a lot of fun to look at, right? I think Arra was eyeballing some wind chimes before we came over here." That was in part a reminder to keep it in both their brains and an agreement with Gwen. The music was nice, too. Kept a bit of a rhythm to his step-- Oh. He laughed. "Yeah, sure, food sounds good." He glanced at Richard, figuring that he would agree. It would be easier to talk to her a bit more in private, too... For one, he might be able to ask how she had been since the clearing of the sidhe and her transcendence. He hadn't seen her since then. "I think you glanced toward the buffet room a bit earlier, didn't you?"

Richard had an inkling when she cited commission inquiries that she hadn't made much in the way of sales that day. Backing it up was the fact that she used the phrasing ’if I get nothing else out of this’. Richard would have offered to buy something, but he worried that might have just made it seem like he felt sorry for her. Which, he didn’t! She was having fun! But impressions were important, and so he would wait. "Future opportunities are important,” he agreed. Word of mouth was how his mother’s dance studio had grown at first, after all. His mother sometimes reminded him that it would be his, but it felt odd to try and own something that it would be another decade before it fell to him. He taught classes and kept getting trophies. That would have to be enough, for the moment. "Oh, right! Thanks for saying that, by the way." Wind chimes, wind chimes... Her stomach growled, Ignacio mentioned the buffet, and Richard's mind was off the wind chimes-- wind chimes--again as he glanced to the both of them. "Oh, yeah, it smells good coming from there too. I'll get us a small table reserved and then we can grab some food." Choosing a small table to the side was likely intentional, considering it seemed Ignacio and Gwen knew each other through their powered lives. The quiet corners would provide a safer place to discuss once they had some food in front of them. Richard headed off to get them started on doing just that.
