With nothing else to do with his day since he was waiting on Gajeel to be done with whatever family thing he had going on, Kynin found himself down by the docks. Usually he avoided them since the young crowd that hung out there annoyed him half the time, but today he needed entertainment. He quickly found a large wooden crate that served as the perfect place to sit. As he got himself situated he took note of a small confrontation happening not too far from him.

All she’d wanted to do was go down to the docks and see what ships had come in. They were interesting to her. She liked seeing the sails on the bigger ones and the smaller ones were always named something funny. Not to mention the crews that manned them were entertaining to watch. However, for some reason today she ran into Uilli and his little group. They had been a thorn in her side since they were little. Always picking on her and calling her names. The boy had spotted her and instantly came over to give her shoulder a push as he sneered.
“Go away Uilli.” She stated firmly. While she was usually shy she knew that wouldn’t work with this bully.

He sat back and watched as the boy made the first move toward starting a fight but it seemed the girl wasn’t about to take the bait. The hybrid placed his hands on the crate behind him and leaned slightly as his head tilted to the side lazily. He didn’t typically approve of males fighting females like that so he already didn’t like the boy. He might not have an interest in girls but he had sisters and even he knew that one did not simply go around fighting them. Unless they challenged you - but clearly that girl had done nothing.

The matori boy scoffed at her and looked over at his friends with a smile before quickly facing her again and shoving her with both hands this time. “Or what? Huh? You gonna do something about it?”
When the second push came she stumbled back two steps and could only stare at him. She wasn’t a fighter unless her brother was in danger. Since she was a twin she had a strong connection to Rathian and didn’t like when he got hurt. It always made her cry. But since it was just her she didn’t feel like it. So she did her best to ignore him and walk around the boy and his friends.

The second push caused Ky to raise a brow. He thought for sure the girl would have reacted to that since she was forced back a few steps but he was wrong. She held strong to her pacifist ways it seemed. Impressive. Though he did notice a bit of hesitation on her part before she attempted to walk around the group of boys. Not that she got very far. Since it was three on one the girl wasn’t likely to make it more than another few steps before she was stopped.

When she thought she was gonna be able to go around one of Uilli’s friends stepped in front of her to prevent her from going anywhere. That was just rude. But it had the desired effect. She had to stop walking. “Please move out of the way.” She hoped that if she was nice about it then the boy would show some mercy.
“You gonna make him?” Uilli teased from behind her. Before she could turn to answer him she felt a sharp pain from a tug on her hair.
“Ow!” Her hands flew up to grab her hair and prevent it from being yanked on again.

Now that was just stupid. Who pulled on hair? It was such a sissy move. And clearly the girl wasn’t going to respond with violence. So what was the purpose? It didn’t matter really to him because he had seen enough of the cowardly stuff. He pushed off the crate so that he could hop back down and make his way over to the little group. When the boy went to grab at the girl’s hair again he was there in time to grab the boy’s wrist and stop him. He simply stared at the boy for a moment. “If you want long hair so badly, grow your own.”

She hadn’t seen the other boy coming so when she heard his voice added into the mix she was startled and turned to look at him. Her eyes went from him to his hand holding Uilli and then back up to his face. A blink followed. Ry was a bit dumbfounded by what she was seeing. Someone had stepped in to stop Uilli from bullying her.
“Let go man.” Uiili tugged at his own arm to get it away from Ky. “You her boyfriend or something?” He seemed a bit worried about that possibility and Ry found that to be amusing.

“Ew, no. I don’t date girls.” He rolled his eyes at the childish question before he shoved the boy’s arm back at him. “I do, however, prevent idiots like you from messing with them.” Ky brought both arms up and crossed them over his chest so that he looked a bit more intimidating. He knew he was a bit on the small side when it came to size - compared to Gajeel he looked like a twig - so he knew how to make himself look bigger and like more of a threat.

Well that was unexpected. Why did Uilli care if the boy was dating her or not? It wasn’t his business. Besides, Ry wasn’t interested in that. Still, the response that was given was amusing and it caused her to giggle. Since this new boy seemed to be on her side she moved so that she was closer to him rather than the others so that she avoided any harm if there were to be a fight. Or at least minimized it.
Uilli took a step back from Ky, joining his two friends, and glared at him. “How about you get lost? Its not our fault if Rys can’t take a joke.” He pointed at Ry.

He took note of how the girl moved to be closer to him and guessed it was a safety thing. He didn’t say anything about it. Instead he focused on the boy who was the main problem. “Right. Well I can and I didn’t find what you were doing to be at all funny. You wanna pull someone’s hair then go fight with your bros over there.” He nodded toward the other boys. “They seem to have the same stupid sense of humor as you.”

When Uilli called her Rys she cringed. Ugh. Why did he have to butcher her name like that. Her name was Ryshanion and Ry was the nickname she went by since it was similar to her dad’s name. As the savior spoke again she could only smile. He definitely seemed like someone that was worth being friends with. “Just go away Uilli.” She finally chimed in for her own defense.
The boy glared at Kynin but decided arguing wasn’t in his best interest. So he turned on his heel with his nose in the air like he had won something and marched away.

He once again had to roll his eyes at the boy’s antics. “Loser.” He didn’t try to hide what he said. When he was done watching the boy walk away he turned to look at the girl with a raised brow. “Should I even ask why you didn’t punch him in the face?” He would have if someone had pulled on his hair like that.

She watched the boys walk away with some relief. After they were far enough away that she was sure they wouldn’t circle back around she turned to look at her savior. “Oh uh.. Well, I try not to fight.” Ry reached up and pushed a bit of hair behind her ear. “Besides, it didn’t hurt that bad.” And if it didn’t cause her to be in too much pain it wasn’t worth the reaction. “But thank you for stepping in.”

She tried not to fight huh? Well he couldn’t relate to that. Ky got into fights all the time. Mostly if someone got too close to Gajeel or himself. Though there were the rare occasions when he just wanted to hit someone. They were getting more and more frequent sadly. “Yeah. I couldn’t watch the coward do whatever he thought he was doing any longer.” He scoffed at the thought. “Try to avoid him from now on.”
