Discord Transcript between Starshine and Oceansoul
Kal 1
He brushed the Zanteers fur methodically. It had followed him home one day as a pup and he had never looked back. "Zuu" Was mostly black with a few small, white spots like stars in the night sky scattered rarely over his coat.
The girls were supposed to visit today. He found himself always looking forward to it. They were fun to watch as they moved together as only twins could. They were not identical but near enough.
"Au?" He called after he heard a rustle. "Vaia?"
He didn't know that Vaia had a cold and was thus at home being doted upon by her parents.

Auali'i had decided to visit her uncle and spend some quality time with him, they had only interacted and spent time together for a brief period when they were all at the beach and she wanted to keep the relationship with her uncle close and tight-knit as possible, that was what her parents taught her family is always going to be important.
She giggled lightly and snuck up behind him and gave him a hug from behind "Hii!! Uncle Kala" she said excitedly. "What are you up to?" she asked him peering past him to see what he was up to.

Kala smiled, ahh it was Auali'i. The girls often visited out this way, but this time
it looked like just one had made the trip. He wondered idly where her sister was but Vaia was a bit more hermity at the best of times. She usually didn't go far without a family member about. He hoped she would be okay eventually it did seem to be getting better, the girl was very shy. "Well Hi niece, I am just brushing out Zuu's coat so he stays looking his best and doesnt shed everywhere, what brings this wonderful surprise?" She was the more upbeat of the twins though her sister was slowly coming out of her shell. "How is everyone at home?"
He took her hand and brushed it along the soft fur of the critter, "You could help if you want?'"

"Ah I see, I just wanted to come visit thats all, mama and dada always said family is important to keep a good relationship with them all" she said before moving out from behind him and sitting beside him, she tilted her head to the side "What exactly is Zuu?" she said looking at the furry creature.
"Everyone is doing good, but I think Vaia is feeling under the weather and mama and papa are giving her some TLC to help her feel better, so its just me" she said before her uncle took her hand and ran it along soft fur of the critter "Ooh...Can I?" she asked

He smiled. "Zuu is a zanteer, he likes to eat ocean beasties in shells and fish and he loves to rove the beach with me any chance he gets." He frowned, "Aww I hope she feels better, no medicine is better than parental tlc." he rarely got sick but when he did it was usually pretty bad and his parents took very good care of them when they were ill the same as his sister and her mate were taking care of Vaia. "I'm glad you got to come!" Waiting for a sick sibling was also less fun. Thankfully they were closeish in age.
"You sure can! He loves the attention," he handed her a brush.

She nodded her head lightly "I mean I don't exactly know what a Zanteer is but he is definitely soft" She said. She ran her hand through Zuu's fur once again before taking the brush from her uncle. "In any case, ocean beasties in shells and fish is abundant here in Matori" she said with a beam before starting to brush Zuu's fur with her uncle "Well, I'm glad I came to visit" she beamed lightly.
"do you think mama and dada would let me have a pet Zanteer roaming around the house?"

"I'm sure she would if you asked nicely, Akea loves animals too." Why she never got one as a pet herself was beyond him. He continued to stroke the fur after he gave her a hug. It was always fun when family was around and he was less lonely now, not that his sisters were far but they were doing their own things at the moment where he was in the small barn tending his critter. "Any idea what you want to be when you grow up?" Not everyone knew right away, he was just starting to really figure it out himself. Its not like you could change course once you had finally decided after all.

She hummed thoughtfully perhaps she should ask her parents if she could get a pet Zanteer “hmm, I always thought mama loved gardening and treasure hunting” she said thinking about it.
She frowned a bit at his question about whether or not she knew what she wanted to be when she grew up and stopped brushing Zuu for a moment “no i don’t” she sat back onto her bottom and looked at her uncle “did you know what you wanted to be when you were my age?”

"She does, it always mystified me that she didn't get a pet but I expect it was because she never stood still long enough, and she had you guys soon after so she is busy being the best Mom she can be." From the looks of things being a mother was nothing short of heroic but Aki helped her quite a bit and that helped ease some of Kala's concerns. They made a very good pair together and were doing a fine job of raising their beautiful girls.
"No, and I'm still not sure now, I was just curious is all." Picking a cereer was one of the most important parts of being a prentice. He just wasn't ready to commit to any one faction yet.

"Hmm..well if I didn't know that before I do now" she said with a smile but at the same time she was always seeing her mother and her father in the garden together, it seemed like it was another thing they did together aside from treasure hunting which they also apparently did together. She went back to petting Zuu once again.
"Choosing a career is a daunting task" she said and she could see why Auntie Ha'ulili found it difficult to decide as well so she went to Auntie Pele for advice. She let out a small exasperated sigh "That seems like a lot of pressure"

"It is, in a way." He thought about it for a moment, "Perhaps that is why I am having so much trouble deciding." He sighed. "Well I guess its up to us to figure it out over time." Everyone else had at some point or other. He was still a bit stressed about it. He had so many options but none of them felt quite right yet. "I guess I have to get to know myself better." Trying new things was always a good idea. Maybe he would do that too.
"Is there anything you wanted to do today?" It was fun to get to hang out with his niece. Family was always good, no matter what. They certainly had a bit enough one now. He wondered if his parents would have more themselves or if they would just be done now. Four kids was a respectable amount.

She thought about it a second more before deciding to put it on the back burner of her thought process because she was starting to get frustrated. She took a breath it and let it out to calm herself. “Dad always says that if a solution doesn’t appear right away to take a break and come back to it when you have a clearer mind” she said. It was a good piece of advice too, her dad always told her not to rush growing up and to enjoy her life.
“Hmm.. that is a good question, I don’t have any ideas I just wanted to come visit you since it’s been awhile since I spent time with you, last time was when I was younger. I’m okay helping you do what you need to do today” she said. Since she was half certain that her surprise visit set back some of his plans for the day.

"Your Dad has very good advice." Kala though about what he needed to do today. "Hmm. Well I was about to go for a walk." He liked to walk first thing, then it was easier to go about your day at a good pace. If he just relaxed in the morning he didn't feel like doing much besides reading and thinking.
He liked to walk the shoreline and see what the sea brought in everyday and the familiar faces that also walked the beaches near their home. It was a very nice habit. Quite soothing and sometimes there were pets to pet. Then too there was sometimes wildlife. He liked the wildlife too. Matori was beautiful and he was grateful that his parents had come here and settled.
"Maybe there will be cool things on the beach."

She nodded her head agreeing "he is a very wise man" she said happily. "ooh... a walk sounds nice" she said bouncing on the balls of her feet enthusiastically. She wondered what sort of things would wash up onto the beach it was always something different that the ocean waves brought to the shoreline, perhaps she would find something that was worth bringing home with her and showing her sibling and parents.
"I wonder what we will find on the beaches today" she told him thinking about thoughtfully. Guess they would need to find out.

"I don't know, but it is my favorite part of the day." He too enjoyed seeing what the ocean brought up. It also refilled the tidepools with potential food so there was that too. He was perpetually hungry and curious and he thought there was no better way to be than that.
He took her hand and walked together with her. He was so lucky to have the family he did. He hoped they all lead beautiful and fun lives just as he intended to do too.
"Got to love this fine weather we are having, soon the storms will come and we will be holed up inside a bit more. I like the rains but not when they stay for what seems like forever."
