'Aldara, can you take these cookies to the next town over?' shouted Aldara's mother as Aldara came down the stairs of their house.

"To the bakery?" She asked as her mother wrapped a cloth over the top of the basket.

'Yes, they are expecting these cookies for their child's birthday in a few days.' her mother confirmed, though Aldara wasn't sure why they were baking them when the parents of the kid owned a literal bakery.

"Couldn't they just make their own? I mean, they own a bakery and know how to bake." She was confused, but then again... This was also the fact she didn't want to leave the home for dumb reason.

Aldara's mother put her hands on her hips and stared at her daughter. 'Aldara, not everyone knows the recipes of people outside their families. Now, you are going to take this basket and make the delivery.' her mother said sternly making Aldara flinch a bit.

She hardly seen her mother this stern, normally she would do the delivery herself. Shaking her head, Aldara grabbed her shawl and wrapped it over her shoulders. Sure she didn't need it, but the sun was sometimes awful bright. Taking hold of the basket, she was ushered out of the house and into the bright outdoors.

"Right, deliver the cookies, then right back home." Aldara said as she stepped away from her house and onto the road. What else could go wrong...

Since it was before chores were handed out Makatza decided to go out for a walk. By the time she was done and made it back then everyone else would be up and ready to go for the day.

She grabbed her small knife and tucked it away in case she needed it for whatever reason. It was a good rule to not leave the house without one anyways. Never knew if she'd need to cut something or someone. Nothing else was grabbed as she headed out the door and onto the road.

Since they lived on the outskirts - to give them more land for farming - she had to jog just a little to get out of view of the front door. Once she was beyond eyesight she slowed down enough to enjoy her walk. Of course she made sure to head around the town rather than through it. Katz liked nature and seeing the wildlife.

Aldara squinted against the sun as she raised a hand to shield her eyes. Why was it so bright? She secretly wished for a cloud to drift over and block the sun for the duration of her travel. Sadly as she looked upwards there wasn't a stitch of fluff against the bright blue. Great, this dampened her mood a little she just wanted to stay home. Sew, bake and just putter around with chores.

"Why did it have to be sunny and hot!" She whined, though better question was, why did she live in Tale if she hated the heat?

Lowering her gaze from the sky to what was in front of her, there didn't seem to be too many on the road. Grasping her basket tightly Aldara kept walking. Everything was silent until the sound of scratching claws against dirt caught her attention. Her reaction time was far, far too slow. With a shriek, she was almost bowled over by her Scorra as it raced to catch up with her.

She was busy walking when she heard the complaint of someone nearby. Makatza blinked her pure green eyes and looked around. When she located the girl that had said it she opened her mouth to say something but she didn't get the chance before a beast came running up. Her mouth shut and she paused in her step to watch.

When it was discovered that the beast was in face a familiar she seemed to relax a little. "Its hot because you're in the sun." She mentioned before she looked at the beast a bit closer. "Nice scorra you have. Does it have a name?"

Aldara had yet to notice anyone else that was out walking on this sunny day. Her attention was towards the Scorra that was perhaps half the height of a full grown Scorra. The adolescent Scorra shrieked in its own right at her for leaving it behind. Really, Aldara didn't want to bring the Scorra as she feared it getting injured if something else were to appear.

"Soran, seriously." She said to the Scorra as it paced around her feet, the bird soon catching sight of someone else, peeps in surprised and hurries behind Aldara's skirts. "Case and point, Soran, you should stay home until you are bigger."

It was at this point Aldara also caught sight of someone else. Clutching her basket of baked goods tightly, she wasn't sure who this person was or if they were friendly. The talk that came from their direction seemed to be nice enough.

"Um... Hi, yes I know I am in the sun, I wish I weren't." She said before looking down towards Soran who was peeking out from behind her. "Thanks, his name is Soran. A hatchling that I have been taking care of. He tends to hate being left behind. Not that I am really going on any adventures." The last bit was more of a mutter as the Scorra looked up with her with youthful eyes.

She seemed to be interested in the way the scorra behaved. When it noticed her and gave a shriek before hiding she leaned to the side to look at it. Katz blinked a bit but still ended up giggling at it. She also took note of the leaf girl clutching her basket as if Makatza was going to snatch it. She said nothing about it.

"You can travel along the wooded trail then.. or get one of those umbrella things for when it rains." Both options would block the sun from touching the girl's skin. Though she was curious as to why the sun was such a bad thing. Katz loved it. It was nice and warm.

"The thing likely thinks of you as its mom if its still little." And since the girl had called it a hatchling she would bet that was the issue. "I think most bird babies imprint when they hatch." She had heard that from some breeder or another somewhere she was sure.

"The wooded path is more dangerous then the open road." Aldara commented as she reached back and placed a hand on the young bird who was trying to gather the courage to not hide. "Less things to trip over out here."

She remembered her time in the trees, her ankle still reminded her of that day when the rains come. She also remembered the man who saved her as well, she blamed herself for blowing up at him. Shaking her head to clear her thoughts, hoping to drive the image of the man from her head as well. She looked back at the Scorra who was looking up towards her with large eyes.

"I was the one who found his egg while it was hatching. Silly thing had bounced himself out of his nest and rolled across the floor." She looked back towards Katz with a bit of a grin on her face. "So I suppose he has come to see me as his mom. Oh! My name'd Aldara. Don't think I said that yet." She chuckles lowly to herself, she was so not used to greeting others.

Less dangerous? Well she supposed so for most. Makatza loved being in the woods though. The cover of the trees made her feel much more at home. "Then an umbrella might be the best option." If the person was unwilling to chance the woods then finding some other cover would be best. "Or I suppose a hooded cloak would work just as well so your hand is free." She brought both hands up so she could point at one.

Katz did notice the bird and smiled at it as it seemed to be trying to find its courage. "Its cute. Definitely thinks of you as mom if you were there when it hatched." She did know that much about birds. Though she had no familiar of her own. Makazta wasn't even sure if she wanted to get one. They tended to need a lot of care and with how forgetful she was it would be a bad idea.

As the girl gave her name she smiled at her. "Nice to meet you Aldara. I'm Makatza." She gave an awkward wave with one hand before dropping both back down to her sides.

"Or maybe even just a sunhat. Like those a farmer might wear?" Aldara pondered, her thought going to an idea of how to keep the sun off. Though she did adjust the shawl that was over her shoulders, the basket hanging from her arm starting to feel a bit heavy. "Mind if we walk and talk? I need to get these somewhere before it grows too late." She asked raising up the basket.

As Aldara started to walk again, Soran peeped and trotted behind her. Its large eyes watching Makatza before turning back towards Aldara. Small feet almost prancing as it trotted at her side. Aldara herself shifted the basket of cookies to her other arm as she looked towards her new acquaintance.

"It is nice to meet you too, Makatza."
