The floor was uncomfortable, damned hardwood floors, still she was pretty absorbed in her book. She barely thought about it as she stood and plopped down on her brother bed, paying Annie and Ever no mind, despite all the shouting they were doing. She had long since learned to tune it out, the Xbox and PS5 handn’t always been in Ever’s room. She preferred the switch, but didn't feel the need for it to be in her room, so in the living room it stayed.
She chuckled to herself after reading a particularly funny scene.
Ever was trying to keep the peace, really he was, but Kenny was certain being a d**k on purpose. “Cut it out Kenny. If we lose your so on block for the next week.” He was focused on the screen trying to take of the person shooting at him. “******** Jazz cover me.”
He frowned when Annie asked if she could kill Kenny, “... dont stoop to his level A-chan.”
“Finally, got him. Ray cover Annie. Kenny you move to the left wing and for the love of god, pay a ******** tention. Alright, let’s move. Pac we’ll follow you.”
Annie was almost done with call of duty tonight already considering everything. She waved her hand dismissively, “Yeah yeah yeah….” speaking into the mic, she had a s**t eating grin, “Your a** is mine whenever we play one on one deathmatch Kenny.” She laughed at the cursing that was going on in response, turing to tell Ever in the sweetest voice she could come up with, “I solemnly swear E-chan that I am up to no good~” She laughed when she saw Kenny die and she did nothing to back him up. “Oops~” Whelp….That was match and she was kinda done with the stupid game today. Maybe she could ask Ever to play God of War or something, that way she could at least look at Daddy Kratos and sigh. That might be the end goal today and then she would go back to Hara’s room to sleep or watch more YouTube.
Ever turned and glarred at Annie and then frowned deeply. “Oh my God. You are both benched. Next round is without either of you.”
He looked to his sister, with her nose in a book, “Hara you take over since Kenny and Annie can't get along for more than five minutes.”
“Up to no good …,” he muttered, “We're not freaking mauraders.”
He turned back to the screen when Sahara sighed and held her hand out for the remote.
Sahara had been mostly tuned out, but heard her brother's growling tone. She sighed, putting her book down and holding her hand out for the controller. One round to calm her brother's ire, then it was back to her book.
She gave Annie a look that said don't start because she could just tell her best friend was fitting to press her brothers buttons on purpose. She laid on the bed with her head hanging off the end, looking at the screen upside down, but ready to go.
“I'll take the right.”
Well, she was about to be bored now, which meant absolutely trying to start s**t.
Annie rolled her eyes at Ever, figuring their team was going to win anyway. Hara was ridiculously good at CoD and she barely knew what she was doing half the time. Instead of messing with Hara she decided to tease Ever just a bit more, “Ohhhh noooo….Daddy Ever benched me….Whatever shall I do? The world is crumbling cause I cant play CoD…” She reached up to play with a little bit of his hair, twirling it around her finger, “Boooooo….” She was so so very upset, it was totally clear in her voice. Maybe she would go play on the switch after this round or pick something to read on her phone.
Annie decided to be a nuncance messing with his hair, but her words had all the guys rolling and telling him to get his girlfriend and calling him Zaddy. Ever didn't find it funny and told them to shut it before pulling a very in the way Annie right into his lap.
“Stop being an a** A-chan and help.” He put his chin on top her head, controller hovering in front of her while he played and focused on screen. “Ray, s**t that was too close for comfort. Get your heads back in the damn game.”
“Hara, cover Ace.”
Sahara was zeroed in on the game not paying her friend being a menace any mind at all. Her little fingers were flying over the controller changing weapons and taking out a damn sniper before switching focus and moving to cover Ace.
“Got em … watch out Ray. Pay attention. If you die …”
Annie was not expecting to be pulled onto Ever’s lap, but figured she could still mess around with him while they were all playing. She wriggled around a bit to “make herself comfortable”, poking at the side of his cheek, “Help how? You're still shooting s**t. What am I supposed to do? Keep your lap warm or something?” Granted, she was blushing just slightly, not that she would admit to it. She was even tempted to bother her other bestie at this point. “Maybe if you didn't bench me daddy then I would have something to do….” She was sure the boys could hear and she was too entertained at this point to really stop.
Ever didn't really pay any mind to Annie's wiggling, but she rolled his eyes at her calling him Daddy again. He was sure she could hear the round of idiocy it started up again.
“Annie if you don't shut up … Stop being an a** …” of course he knew what she was doing and decides to play along and whispered in her ear although he knew the guys would hear him.
“And yes, be a good girl and keep Daddys lap warm.”
It might have worked if Hara wasn't also in the game.
Hara turned giving her brother a look, not finding it hilarious they way his friends did. “EWWW Ever … do you two want me to leave. Stop flirting, you can do that when we're not all playing Call of Duty.”
She rolled her eyes as her brother started laughing no longer able to keep a straight face.
He handed his controller to Annie. “Don't get me killed babe.”
He leaned back still laughing before ruffling Hara's hair.
Annie placed her hand on her chest in mock hurt, “An a**? Me? Daddy, how could you?!” She laughed then promptly stiffened, a whole body shiver going down her spine the moment Ever whispered in her ear. Now she was fully embarrassed, mouth opening and closing while she took the controller, playing automatically. The amount of noise in her ear the moment Ever said babe caused her to jump in his lap. “B-Babe?!” All his friends were shouting things like “Babe”, “What the ********”, and Kenny said, “******** Daddy?!” Even as they kept playing.
Sahara made a gagging sound, but was happy despite all the noise Annie seemed to jump right in. “SHUT UP. Ray on your right. Ace, dammit. You idiot.”
“No, but nobody's wishes more than me that they'd just admit they like each other and get on with it … So focus.”
She took out another guy before mumbling, “though honestly I guess he just admitted it.”
Ever sat back pulling off his headset and ignoring his friends, not that he couldn't still hear them. He watched as Annie brought them the victory and he cheered. “That's what I'm talking about!”
He grinned and leaned forward whispering to Annie again, “way to bring in the win babe.”
He could hear his friend, making fun of them, but he was amused because he found a sure fire way to shut Annie up.
Annie did bring them to victory but really she just couldn't say anything at all…How the ******** did this happen? When Ever whispered in her ear again, Annie turned around and poked him in the cheek, “Babe huh?” She was trying to look nonchalant about it but boy did that tickle her insides pink. Of course she just thought Ever was just joking, which she was waiting for him to remove her from his lap and say sike or something, that he was just kidding to get her to be quiet. The game was over and all his friends were still making noise about everything that just transpired.
Sahara sighed and frowned at her brother and best friend not even giving her brother a chance to answer. “Yes, babe … bae whatever. He means it, now shut up and kiss already … or whatever. I'm going to finish my book. Guys I think we’re done for the night.”
She put her controller to the side, rolled over and grabbed her book, heading out of the room already reading before she even made it out. “Dont forget mom and dad will be home from their night out in like … er probably 30 minutes now.”
Ever glared at his little sister and then rolled his eyes at her so hard. “I don’t know why my mom decided to have another child. It's beyond me. You're so lucky, you just have little brothers and one can barely talk.” He watched his sister walk out, before looking back to Annie. “What do you want to play now, babe?”
