Madhatter was just trying to meet his energy quota bored if he was honest and ready to be done with the night, so he could get homework on his Russian and Italian. Ever since he met Annie’s dad he was pretty intent on learning the languages because he would have someone to speak with. Sahara would be rolling her eyes if she could here his thoughts.
He watched a person, honestly they may have been in one of his classes, stumbling along and knew he found another energy source. “Almost at quota for the night,” he mumbled. He wasnt paying attention to the energy signature in the area. Thus far he hadnt even run into someone from the other side.
Sahara sat on a rooftop waiting for her bestie to show up, she intended to have her help bust Ever. Her brother snuck out before her and she wondered what he was up to. She loved getting ever into trouble and it would serve him right for telling their parents she was the one that put that knocked over the mailbox last month. She didn't even know he knew about that.
“Come on Pez, where are you?”
Pez was mostly running late, she was asked to watch her little brothers for a bit while her father and stepmom went out for the night. They came back on time but Lyle wanted to spend more time with her and she obliged, the little guy was just too cute and she found it amazing she had younger siblings. She moved as fast as she was allowed at this point, wondering if she could maybe try teleporting at some point, that would be something to ask the big boss later she supposed. Now busting Ever was something she wasn't too excited about but it wasn't like she was going to let her bestie know, she would blame it on the fact that she had a crush on her brother or some s**t and she really didn't want to get into that.
The lieutenant landed softly beside her bestfriend an apologetic smile on her face. “Sorry, Ly wanted to spend more time with me and you know I had to give into the cuteness.”
Gault sighed and watched as the senshi looked like he was about to drain energy, getting close enough to where his powers would be effective. With a look of disappointment, he brought up his hand and snapped his fingers, unleashing his powers in the area.
”Crying Shame”
For this attack, Gault pulls up one hand and snaps his fingers, causing a foul stench to roll in the area that brings tears to his target's eyes. If the chosen target begins to rub their eyes, this causes a painful burning sensation that makes the tears worse. The fumes only have a radius of ten feet and can affect up to three people. This attack has a duration of 30 seconds.
Madhatter regretted not paying attention to the signature when he was hit with the foul BO like stench. “Ugh, who didn't bathe today,” he groaned pulling on his bow to use as a mask to sheild his nose from the smell. Other than that it did little to deter him from grabbing the now gagging civilian to drain. He only regretted it when the person vomited all over his shoes.
He sighed heavily and released the person pushing them along, “go home idiot.”
“Finally,” complained Taaffe. “Come on I want to get done before Ever gets home. I wanna bust him sneaking in and tell our parents. He’ll most certainly be grounded. I however cant do that if we dont hurry up, so lets go.”
She grabbed her board and jumped down off the roof with ease getting use to the rooftop express. “Where do you think we should patrol tonight?”
Gault was amazed that this senshi just did not catch on already….
Sneaking up behind the senshi, he pushed him lightly. “You know draining people is bad right?” He stepped back just to make sure he could stay safe. Chaos senshi were crazy in his experience, except Chara, Chara was nice. At least this senshi let the person go, most of the time the civilian died….
Pez shook her head, her bestie was very very petty, something she hopped she would not be on the receiving end of anytime soon. “Mmmmmmnnnnn How about the park?” She jumped off after her, keeping up with the speed of the skateboard. “We should totally order out after this.
Hatter sighed and turned to the senshi now visible to him and rolled his eyes, “you know this is my literal job right. Dude gets lost, it's not like I'm killing them. Go take your self righteousness elsewhere … I’ve apparently be burdened with glorious purpose.”
He moved to walk away from the green bean, intent on finding two more victims because he’d rather be doing literally anything else if he was honest.
“Alright, race you,” she said, “ on your mark … go.” She kicked off on the board speeding toward the park. It would take a few minutes to get there, but that was no big deal. She grinned back at her friend and gave another powerful push and sped up. Skateboarding had only leveled up, with this power boost from the negaverse. She wondered if it would get better, easier when she was at the next stage.
“You're fittin to eat my dust today Pez.”
Gault really didn't want to do this, attempt to fight this senshi that really if he were being honest, didn't seem like he liked his job either. If that was the case, why didn't he just purify or something? “Look I'm not trying to be self righteous or anything, but you could you know….Not do the draining thing.” Gault decided to try and follow the taller senshi, “Please don't make me fight you.” He really didn't want to.
Pez laughed, “Taff you cheater!” She took off running, taking full advantage of the speed her newfound powers gave her. They would literally get to the park within the next minute at this rate. “I'm coming for that a** Tafffffff!”
Hatter turned and raised an eyebrow at the senshi before giving him a smile, that was none to friendly more malicious than anything.
He bows gentlemanly, tipping his hat, “Hats off to you.”
He watched as hats appeared in front of him all around the senshi, spread out within 10 ft, before he turned again to leave. He barely made it a few steps before one randomly exploded.
“I have better things to do,” he called out.
Madhatter tips his hat and around 10 hats appear on the ground around Madhatter in a 10ft radius around Hatter. They explode randomly in the time they are out, but if stepped on, the hats explode on contact. The explosion is a hard gust of air, more likely to startle or trip someone than to cause physical damage. The hats last for about 20 seconds and Hatter can use the attack twice.
Taffe made it into the park with Pez hot on her heels stopping and looking around. “You feel that? There's a senshi or knight somewhere around here and one of ours too.”
She grinned, “Well come on. Let's make a little trouble.”
She started heading toward the signature.
Gault was reeeeeaaalllly starting to dislike chaos. The poor senshi was surprised when one of the hats exploded, almost knocking him off balance. Before anymore of them could do the same he started moving, trying to step carefully around each one. He could feel two more chaos signatures and he was not about the life of getting ganged up on. Besides, if he already knew he would cause his other half to worry if he came back all beaten up and bloodied. The hats really started exploding and that made him move even faster, one of the hats propelling him forward and out of danger, something he appreciated. The senshi thought he was scott free, till he felt a punch to his gut.
Pezz didn't share Taffy’s grin, but she did crack her knuckles.
The chaos signature was coming closer while the order was getting away! What the ********? “I'm going to see if I can cut them off.” She broke from her bestie acting like she was about to break the sound barrier when she saw green ahead followed by…Exploding hats? That was something she would have to look into later. Dodging the explosions, Pez quickly skidded in front of the smaller senshi, landing a punch to his gut. Like she thought, he went down, but not before she grabbed him by his hair. “Where…..Did you think you were going sweetie?”
She held onto the senshi, dragging him back with her grip on his hair, “Ooooooooh Tafff! Look at what I found!” Her grin was slightly sadistic as she threw the senshi onto the ground. “Apparently this tiny little thing is the order signature, did you find the chaos?” The senshi tried to reach out to grab her and she kicked him hard in the stomach, stomping her boot onto his back. “Down boy.” Then she looked at Taff, “I assume the hats are the corrupts?” She started grinding the heel of her boot into the poor things back, looking down with a look of boredom.
Hatter realized of course the other seemed intent to keep him from going, but as he turned around the tiny senshi punched him straight in the gut. He groaned doubling over. “You a**,” he groaned out before his face took on a surprised expression as a red head in red took the senshi down. He stood back up after a moment watching the girl shouting to someone else asking if they found him he supposed.
He almost facepalmed, “I’m assuming you are talking about me.” This girl almost reminded him of someone. “Yes the hat were mine,” he said looking to where the hates were no longer there. They didn't last very long. He was surprised she’d seen them.
Taffe skated right on her friends heels, shaking her head at the girls lack of chill and her apparent tunnel vision. Pez asked about the other chaos signature and Taffee raised a brow and pointed to the corrupt that was now speaking. “Sorry my friend is a tank, always rearing to go. Guess thats fighters for you.”
She turned looking at the senshi and grinned, “Oh hello again. Fancy meeting you here.” She kicked her skateboard up and tucked into subspace. “Hey Pez, wanna see a fun party trick.”
She smiled, “night night senshi,” she said in french kneeling down and sticking her hand into his chest to grab his starseed.
Hatter frowned seeing the skateboard, because he was struck by familiarity again. This duo … it couldnt be. Though they certain acted like them. It was the french that made him sure. So when the girl put her hand in the senshi’s chest. “Get you hand out of his damn chest …,” he said in french. “Just drain him, stop acting like a depraved psycho.”
Taffe looked surprised, snatching her hand out his chest and giving the senshi a confused look. It couldnt be. She looked at Pez.
Gault was about to try and get the officer's foot off of his back only to cry out in pain when an officer he was very familiar with shoved her hand in his chest. Tears pooled in his eyes even as he tried to keep them from falling.
Pez rolled her eyes at her best friend, blue eyes looking down coldly. “I've done that before taff, senshi actually beat you to it.” She didn't miss the tears in the poor thing’s eyes and she lifted her foot. Did it really hurt that bad? Stupid mental question since she actually could remember what it was like for her. The officer placed her hand on her chest, wincing. Just because she's done this to a drunk civilian didn't mean she felt comfortable doing it repeatedly. Sure it was fun to beat up white moon but she didn't think she had it in her to corrupt anyone, the pain was just excruciating. Then the other senshi started speaking….French?
Did this due know them outside of the whole powered s**t? Pez tilted her head and cracked her knuckles while looking at the purple-haired senshi. “Either you're friendly like…We know you or Imma have to beat your a** too. Which one is it?”
Gault took this chance to try and get up despite the pain. The females were crazy as per usual with chaos and the male was pretty chill….The smaller senshi stood up on shaky legs and backed away slowly, eventually finding enough strength to take off. He figured going to his partner's house would be the best thing for him to do, if he came home looking like a hot mess his parents would go into full on overprotective mode. However, he did make sure to remember what those three looked like. Next time he would make sure to either take them out or to have back up.
“Really, ready to throw hands as per usual, but Ive never been much for the acting of actually fighting. I personlly would rather stomp you in Mario cart again but thats just me. Its not as though I actually recognize you with the whole alter ego thing, but you the skateboard, french and personalities are very telling, but I mean I know you very well.” And hell he could be wrong.
He noticed the senshi getting away, but just let him go for the moment. He didn't think they fair so well the next time these two ran into him.
Taffe took on a lightbulb expression and frowned, “so this is why you were sneaking out … figures.” She frowned because now she definitely couldht rat him out, though this actually worked out for her because he couldnt rat her out. “I guess three is better than too bro. So Im Taffeite and this is Pezzoite, what your night time persona?”
So it was his sister after all, he sighed because his life just got so much more complicated.”Im Maadhatter, senshi of hats.”
“Welp, now you can help with out quota and we can all get home before we all get caught.”
Pezz instantly knew who she was talking to with that statement. Her stance relaxed and she rolled her eyes, crossing her arms under her chest, “Hahahaha…Very funny. You cheated the entire time anyway so it's not like it counted. I want a rematch next time I'm over or we can all play at my dad’s this weekend. Also if I want to throw hands, I'll throw hands sir.” One red eyebrow raised as she said this, looking to her other best friend, “Yeah this stupid quota should be much easier with the three of us.” She didn't pay much attention to the senshi she had under her boot, she would rather let him get away then have Taff try for his starseed again. “Shall we get going?”
Taffe summoned her skateboard and dropped it on the ground, “Alright let's hit it. I'm sure there are more than a few idiots out and about as per usual.” She kicked off fully expecting her bestie and brother to follow.
