Prompt 2 (Holiday Blues): One day, in the very early morning hours, a strange, bluish fog rolls in. It floats low to the ground and is incredibly dense and incredibly cold. Anyone who inhales even a single breath from this fog will be met with a sudden, harsh sensation of sadness. It’s the worst part of the holidays—the Holiday Blues. The fog slowly spreads through the town and is gone by mid afternoon, but the sensation of sadness, loneliness, and nostalgia may linger for longer than that. Scientists are explaining the bluish tint as just being a natural phenomenon, but in Destiny City, ‘natural’ isn’t really something anyone should expect. Today would have been a good day to stay inside.

Thea had been very emotional ever since that mysterious box from her grandpa had shown up at her front door. She was doing such a good job holding it all in and controlling her emotions that no one knew it was still bothering her. Training at the gym helped her control her feelings but still it lingered in the back of her mind. She needed to find a way to process her feelings and move forward with her life. The only thing is she wasn't about to do that right now, since she had to go into town to buy some new gear.
She walked in a heavy looking white puffer coat, and some white snow boots with fur. With each step she took she was excited to see the new gear the boxing store was getting in. The only thing was the more she walked the more it looked like a strange, bluish fog was rolling in. It was floating low to the ground and it was incredibly dense and incredibly chilling cold. She had a feeling that something wasn't right, but she didn't know why. She kept walking, her steps getting heavier and heavier as the fog seemed to follow her. She stopped in her tracks, her heart pounding in her chest.
She took a few deep breaths and unknown to her, but that the fog was being inhaled with each breath. She suddenly felt all the sadness she had bottled up rushing over her all at once. All the tears she had held back rushed down her cheek like a river. Right now it felt like the fog was made up of all the emotions she had kept hidden, and when she inhaled it, it released the pent-up sadness and tears that she had held back. All the thoughts of her dead grandpa and how she would never see him again. She couldn't believe she had allowed herself to forget him. How could she not go to his grave to talk to him? How could she not want to think about him? Sure it hurt but he was her grandpa, her best friend. She needed to forgive herself for not being able to cope with the pain and to remember him in the right way. She needed to grieve and to remember him for the good memories they had shared. She needed to remember him for the love he gave her.
At this moment she really wished she had stayed home. She hated crying in public, but here she was doing just that. As she wiped her tears it seemed like the fog rolled away with them. She took a deep breath and decided that it was time to visit him. She needed to sit there and talk to him. Even if it was just his gravestone and he wouldn't answer. Well that was okay with her. She made her way to the graveyard, feeling a newfound strength and determination. She found his grave and sat down next to it, taking a deep breath before speaking. She was so happy to talk to her best friend again.
