Dirt and mud everywhere, drying and cracking ontop of his increasingly itchy skin. Today he was free from studies, and had finished a long day of work. He had set to wandering for the day with no particular destination in mind. He had been doing that for the better part of two days now. As his mother and father had been kicking him out of the hut to start fending on his own. He was supposed to be out making friends. Not that he really knew were to start on that endevour and it wasn't a forefront of his interests to begin with.
Raking his fingers over the drying flakes of mud, Koa found relief as the irritant was scraped away with each stroke. So it was a bit startling when he found himself suddenly at waters edge. His murky brown eyes glancing about the marsh.
The sudden awareness of his surroundings had him pursing his lips into a fine line. His eyes eventually settled on the glass beads presented to him in a small stall. Curious, he leaned forward to get a better look. Squinting to survey the small details of the craftsmanship. Humming to himself he reached up to rub his chin in contemplation. These were pretty beads, and he could tell time and effort had been put into their construction. Perhaps he could see about taking some home to his mother, maybe she would appreciate the small gesture and be able to add it to some of her own works she had strung up around the house. It wasn't often she could find beads, let alone ones these well crafted.
Scrunching his lips to the side, Koa slowly straightened his posture. His hands patting the various parts of his body where he usually kept spare coins for trade. Reaching the final areas, Koa's face turned into a sorrowful pout. He had not brought any coins around with him today.
