One day, in the very early morning hours, a strange, bluish fog rolls in. It floats low to the ground and is incredibly dense and incredibly cold. Anyone who inhales even a single breath from this fog will be met with a sudden, harsh sensation of sadness. It’s the worst part of the holidays—the Holiday Blues. The fog slowly spreads through the town and is gone by mid-afternoon, but the sensations of sadness, loneliness, and nostalgia may linger for longer than that. Scientists are explaining the bluish tint as just being a natural phenomenon, but in Destiny City, ‘natural’ isn’t really something anyone should expect. Today would have been a good day to stay inside.
Zuri had lost her most recent Kendo match and it was literally killing her. She was trying to distract herself from mundane tasks like cleaning her room, but nothing worked. She had to find a way to get her mind off things. She decided to take a walk in the city to clear her head. Taking a break from her regular routine and doing something different allowed Zuri to get out of her comfort zone and confront her emotions in a healthier way. The fresh air and beautiful scenery of the city also helped her to clear her head and gave her a new perspective on the situation.
She felt calmer and more in control of her emotions. That was until a strange fog began to roll over her. She truly didn't think anything of it, even though it was a little weird that it was so low to the ground and dense. She took a breath in to relax a bit more, but instead of relaxing, she felt a sudden, harsh sensation of sadness. She tried to ignore it, but it only grew stronger. Tears started to well up in her eyes and she could feel her heart racing. She knew she had to get out of there. She realized that the strange fog was actually an emotional fog that had been building up inside her. She had ignored it for so long that it had built up to an alarming level, and it had finally been released in the form of a strong surge of emotion. At least that was how she was trying to rationalize these feelings.
Then the next phase hit her - the phase of loneliness. She felt like she was so alone in the grief she felt for losing her Kendo match. Like her teammates, family, friends, they just didn't understand. She felt like no one could possibly understand what she was going through. She felt alone and isolated, like no one could relate to her pain. She felt like she was the only one who had experienced these feelings, and she felt like she was the only one who knew the true extent of her suffering. She felt isolated and misunderstood, and this only added to her pain. How could she lose that Kendo match?! The team was counting on her and she just failed. Miserably too! There was even a reason she should have failed - that the other team wasn't half as good as them. She felt like she had let her team down and she felt like she couldn't face them. She was ashamed of her failure and she felt like she had no one to turn to. She felt like she was all alone.
She tried to shake these feelings, but no matter what she couldn't shake them. It was like the fog stuck on her. So knowing that she began to walk home with all these sad, lonely thoughts plaguing her brain. She walked down the streets, feeling the weight of the world on her shoulders. She felt like she was walking in a trance, and she couldn't shake the feeling of loneliness. She just wanted to go home and lock herself in her room. She finally felt exhausted and decided to take a break. She sat down on a bench, closed her eyes, and tried to take a few deep breaths. She felt a little better after that, but still felt a sense of loneliness and sadness. The fog also continued to surround her - it seemed like no matter where she walked the fog just followed. What a pain. She decided to just go home and take a nap, hoping that the fog and sadness would lift. She started walking again, determined to make it home. She was determined to make it home.
As she walked, she noticed the fog was starting to thin out. She quickened her pace and eventually made it home. She opened the door and sigh of relief escaped her lips. She shut the door behind her and collapsed on the couch. She let out a deep sigh, feeling a sense of contentment as she relaxed into the couch. She closed her eyes and let out a contented sigh, feeling the warmth of her home enveloping her. She allowed herself to relax and rest, content in the knowledge that she was safe. She had been walking for hours and was exhausted, but the feeling of contentment and warmth that she felt when she finally arrived home was overwhelming. Being inside her own home, surrounded by everything familiar and safe, made her feel secure and content.
She felt a sense of peace and contentment, knowing that she was finally home after a long day. She stayed on the couch, content in the knowledge that she was safe and at peace. She could feel the warmth of the home surrounding her and the warmth of the sun through the window. The familiar scent of her house made her feel at ease and at home, and the sound of the birds chirping outside reminded her of the beauty all around her.
She closed her eyes, taking in the tranquility of the moment, and felt a deep sense of appreciation for all the beauty that surrounded her. She felt a sense of peace and contentment, knowing that she was truly home. She took a deep breath and smiled, knowing that this feeling of contentment would stay with her forever. Something about being inside away from that fog was helping her to bring back herself. She wasn't one to just lose her emotions like that. She was normally very centered and at peace with herself. Why today? Why did she lose it like that? Was it something out there? All these thoughts rolled around in her head. As she slowly felt her eyelids get heavy, and before she knew it her eyes had comepletly shut. She had drifted off into her dreams - that would hopefully be better than her thoughts.
