Maya paused at the front gates of what she deemed a rather expansive home. Scratching her head, she checked the parchment again. This was the place indicated on the note her daughter had left. In Oba of all places. Not much had been written on the note. Her janarim grumbled disdainfully next to her. Pacju sniffed the air while letting out a barking whine.

"Dear Mama,
N'Kole is gone. Forever. Still staying in Oba for a while with hot hybrid. Locals know him as the beast tamer. The house is near the markets. (Enter address) you cant miss it. Come visit sometime."

She had diligence in searching for this place. There were many things she wanted to speak to her daughter about so much she wanted to catch up on.

Reaching for the gate Maya jerked her head up, a familiar Radaku was howling a greeting. Paws padded against the sand towards her. "Oh, Pacju look. Your baby Tao is still okay. Well how about that, she's learned to take care of herself and her mut. I wonder if that means she was able to hatch that darn egg after all." Maya mused, watching the mother and son play bow each other into a game of cat and mouse.

The sound of a door opening caught Mayas attention. Her posture straightened to her full height. That was not her daughter in the doorway to the house. It also certainly wasn't N'Kole either. A hybrid?

Maya stood contemplating her next move, reaching for an arrow just in case. "I have a note saying my daughter is currently seeking shelter here. Teiluj."

XD 'Hot hybrid' LOL

A noise outside had caught his attention, mostly it was the way his beasts seemed to react. Not to mention Tao was making a ruckus. While he knew the radaku was over vigilant he also knew that he'd calmed down some since first arriving. So Lynx got up and decided to take a peek and see what was going on.

When he made it to the door and opened it he was a bit shocked to see an Alkidike out in the yard. Not just because they were in Oba and it was uncommon to see one but also the fact that generally speaking they didn't decide to break into people's homes. He watched as she straightened up and looked at him. Lynx also noted that the woman reached for an arrow.

He did a glance inside to see where Teiluj was, making sure she wasn't anywhere in danger, then back at the woman as she spoke. She was looking for her daughter. As she spoke his mate's name he blinked. "Seeking shelter is an odd way to say she lives here." There was no hiding that fact. However, given their last encounter with an Alk had landed them both injured he wasn't about to just open the door for her. Instead he called over his shoulder. "Teiluj.. there is a woman here that says she's your mother." He couldn't help but keep his body in the doorway and shield Tei if she needed it.

Teiluj was hot. WAY TOO HOT! The heatwave was hard to work around. Not to mention her belly was swollen. Making moving a bit more troublesome than she preferred. Lynx was true to his word, she was carrying his offspring. There had been a point where Teiluj had wondered if it was even possible for her to carry children. Considering she herself was bloomed directly from Aisha. But it seemed the goddess tree had given her strange blessings in random ways.

The sound of Tao's ruckus being made outside did put her on edge. Though it calmed her to see Lynx take action rather quickly. She could hear conversation between a female and Lynx. Furrowing her brows together, the now pregnant hybrid shifted from where she was sitting to stand up.

Puzzled when Lynx called out to her, explaining who the guest was. Teiluj paused in thought. A rush of panic washed over her. It had been quite some time since she had left that note for her mother. Nearly about as long as her relationship with Lynx. A panic rushed through her. She had completely forgotten about what would occur if her mother had run into her mated life partner.

Stepping forward Teiluj stopped again, her eyes falling upon the towering figure of her mother. The woman was still just as tall as she was frightening. The last she had seen her was before the Oban war. When she had left her in charge of Starlines egg, it was as a youngling she had to learn to fend for herself. Her mother's idea of proper raising of a child Alkidike.

Teiluj in part understood her mothers intentions. It was hard to explain how a hybrid such as herself was the daughter of a pure blooded Aishan.

Keeping silent Teiluj stood within sight but well out of any path of her mother. She wasn't going to risk loosing Lynx's child.

"Oh good, so she is here." Maya responded, shifting to look around the man blocking her way into the house. Her dark orbs fell upon the woman standing in the distance. Confusion registered on her face, was that really her daughter standing there in the distance?

The powerful guardian attempted to shift the male hybrid in front of her out of her way, in order to get a better look at the Hybrid she called her daughter. "Oh for Aisha's sake boy, let me through." Shifting a bit more to the side Maya's smile faded. Was Teiluj pregnant? Was that Even Teiluj?

Antenna twitched restlessly as her gaze slowly moved from her daughter to the male hybrid blocking her path. "What... have you done... to my daughter..." She reached out to grab the cloth hanging around his shoulders.

Since Teiluj didn't give him a confirmation or even a sign that it was alright for this woman to be in their home he didn't move. So when Maya got closer he remained firm in his position. Lynx didn't even move when it seemed like the alk was irritated that he was blocking her path inside. "I'll move if Teiluj asks me to. Until then you'll have to forgive my rudeness." He wasn't exactly fond of the idea of fighting another full bloded alk but he would.

When the woman seemed to go from looking at Tei to looking at him and becoming aggressive he narrowed his eyes. He wasn't exactly a fan of being grabbed either. Still, if this was Teiluj's mother then he could understand her anger since Tei was with child. He didn't even consider the fact that the recent changes to her earthling side could be just as shocking.

Lynx reached up to grab Maya by the wrist that held onto the cloth he wore in place of a shirt. "Please let go and we can have a conversation. With words."

"No, that's mother." Teiluj replied. "She wont hesitate to fight you either." Walking towards the two opposing forces Teiluj gave her best smile.

"Hi mom, It's been a long time." At the sound of her voice both Tao and Pacju stopped in their play to race each other towards the female Hybrid squeezing past the Alkidike mother and male hybrid. Giggling Teiluj reached down towards her mothers Radaku. "Goodness, Pacju must me getting so old now. Aren't ya girl." A few happy pats from the familiar hybrid had the older Radaku's tail wiggling with excitement.

Keeping one hand on her belly, Teiluj approached the individuals in the door way. Her hand slipping into Lynx's with a soft squeeze. "I don't think she means any harm. Mom hasn't held to the old ways for... well... since she took me on."

Opening her mouth to say something to Lynx, Maya stopped to hear Teiluj speak. Without letting go of Lynx's clothing, the Alkidike woman turned her attention back to the female Hybrid. "You've changed... you've changed ALOT. Is this normal for you? It can't be right, Eshe told me what your mothers both carried as far as tribes. I don't remember anything talking about a change during my travels. Are you certain you haven't done anything to her?"

Maya had been traveling back to Chibale when the pollen struck. The only company with her were her own familiars and a few of the sisters. She hadn't seen first hand the changes within the earthlings due to the strange events. It wasn't like she was really close with any of them either. Preferring to keep more to her own kind.

Unconsciously letting go of Lynx's shirt. Her daughters pregnancy did not however go unnoticed. She wasn't too sure how she felt about the situation. Antenna twitching again, Maya took a step back. Letting go of the arrow in her quiver. "What are you?" She asked, looking the man up and down. "Hybrid obviously... but what are you?"

Hearing the confirmation from his mate made him glance toward her and give a slight nod in understanding. Still, he was protective. He let go of Maya's wrist even as she continued to hold his cloth. As the Alk mentioned the changes to Teiluj he blinked then seemed to realize what she meant. "I did nothing.. we think it was the strange pollen that filled the air. A lot of people reported changes afterward. My own family had a few." He turned his attention to Tei when she took his hand and smiled at her. "They don't appear to have harmed her though." And that was what mattered.

As Maya let go and took a step back to ask him what he was he lifted a brow in question. Then she pointed out that he was a hybrid but couldn't pin point the particular mix. "Ah.. Oban, Leaf, Shifter, Ice, and Alk." To most he was a mutt but he was rather proud of his bloodlines. "I work as a beast tamer if you wanted to know that as well." It would explain the many beasts about the property too.

"Did you want to come in or...?" He moved slightly toward Tei, still keeping the bulk of his body in front of her. "We already dealt with one Alk attack so if you plan on fighting could you give me a heads up? I'd prefer if Teiluj weren't in harms way."

Pale green eyes watched Lynx as he spoke. Nodding to confirm what he was saying to her mother. Upon her mothers further questions into Lynx's lineage Teiluj was taken aback. "That's rude to ask." Teiluj mumbled, though not loud enough it seemed. Since Lynx was busy answering the question. She too was proud of what made him, well, him. And some of them were the same as her own lineage. She smiled proudly up at Lynx, leaning a little more into him. "He's very good at the job he does Mama. He's even helped me with Tao and Starline."

Unsure if she should mention the Loatoa kit, Teiluj opted it was best to keep silent about their newest addition. The mention of the Mystic attacking them dampened Teiluj's spirit slightly. "Aselia, we ran into the extremist on yael. She nearly killed him." There was pain in her voice as she spoke. They were not pleasant memories by any measure.

Teiluj made no attempt to change her location from behind Lynx. Comfortable with the feeling of protection, since her mother was a powerfully fearsome woman in her own rights.

"And that is what makes you weak Teiluj. I left you to raise them on your own. You and you alone were supposed to train them. I'm disappointed. What have you managed to accomplish? Aside from running to yet another man." Maya sighed and shook her head, emphasising her disappointment in Teilujs lack of skills.

"What an interesting mix. Alkidike you say?." A grin perked up Mayas features. "How interesting! Then you should have no complaints about a friendly wrestling match!" Maya insisted, flexing her muscles in front of the male hybrid. "It should be the easiest way to determine if you should in fact have my daughter."

He had been happy to help with Tao and Starline. The two beasts weren't too far from being tamed just from their connection with Teiluj. She just needed the extra guidance on how to get them to heel. However, hearing Maya talk down to Teiluj and insult her for seeking help caused him to narrow his eyes and give a half growl. "If all you came to do was insult your daughter then you can leave." Lynx didn't want to turn the woman away if Tei wanted to spend time with her but he wouldn't stand by and listen to her bring Teiluj down. "Teiluj had a good bond with them and a deep understanding of their behaviors. All I did was give her tips on how to teach them commands." In his eyes there was nothing wrong with that. Not everyone was cut out for taming beasts.

"Yes, Alk. Very little." It wasn't visible unless one counted his ears. When she mentioned a friendly match as a way to see if he could have Teiluj he half shook his head with a scoff. "You realize you have the advantage right? You're taller and stronger since you're a warrior." Still, he wasn't one to say no. So he glanced at Teiluj and offered her a smile. "Hope you won't think less of me if I lose." Lynx leaned over and gave his mate a peck to the cheek.

From there he motioned for Maya to join him in the yard. No way was he going to do this in the house.

Teiluj was accustomed to her mother talking to her like this. Part of her wondered if Maya resented having been charged with raising her. After all the life chances, missed. All the homes, lost. The friendships destroyed along the way. Her mother had sacrificed so much, for a daughter that truly wasn't Hers. Lynx's response shocked her. Was her mother the one in the wrong here?

The way Lynx spoke to Maya was shocking. She would have never dared to speak to her mother that way. "Wait, I don't think a test of strength is a proper way to prove-" Teiluj was cut off by the challenge being accepted by Lynx.

Shaking her head slowly Teiluj pulled away from Lynx to give him the room he might need. " I won't think less of you." Turning to scowl at her mother Teiluj spun on her heals and walked back towards the kitchen. She would busy herself with making food. That of all things should help calm her mother down

"Have you children, young man?" Maya asked. "Were you tasked with raising one's that weren't yours. I doubt it. I did what was needed to raise her under traditional Alkidike ways. I can see your point of view though. Perhaps I could reconsider, what is the profession you chose little lady?" Maya asked, shocked when her daughter had turned to walk away from the conversation. Had their relationship changed this much since the Oban war?

Scratching her head in bewilderment, Mayas focus shifted towards the male hybrid. "Mmm, Aishan is still Aishan. No matter what form they take. Interesting that you're male. C'mon now." Maya reached out to grip Lynx's arm, intent on dragging him towards the pens where the animals were kept. "Size, height, weight, class. It all means nothing if you don't use what's up here." She tapped the side of her head. "How about this. One contest of my choosing. And another of yours. Then finally Teiluj shall pick one. Winner keeps the girl." Maya was eager now to test the limits of what she was now assuming to be Teilujs pick in companion.

He once again did not agree with what was said and had to narrow his eyes at Maya. "Teiluj is carrying my child, so while I haven't raised them yet I do have one. And I would never talk to them as you have to her." A scoff left him when she mentioned that Tei wasn't hers. "My mother raised my cousins as if they were her own and she didn't then nor does she now insult them or say they aren't hers. So you are only using that as an excuse to hide your behavior. It's unacceptable and won't be tolerated while I'm around. Teiluj deserves better." When Maya went to grab his arm he brushed her off.

He did walk with her after looking back to see if Tei was alright. "While the extra chances to prove myself are appreciated I would rather spend my time with my mate. I'd also like to point out Teiluj is not an object to be won. She's capable of making her own decisions. " Now Lynx crossed his arms in front of his chest as he stared at the Alk in front of him. "Perhaps if you sat down and talked with her you might realize what an amazing person she is." To say his feathers had been ruffled was a bit of an understatement.

Walking into the kitchen where she was accompanied by the newest addition to the household, the Loatoa kit. Soft mewls announced her presence before rubbing up against Teilu's leg. Teiluj smiled greeting the welcome creature, a precious gift given to her by Lynx around the time of the babies conception. Rubbing the side of her belly to ease a sharp discomfort, Teiluj shifted into a soft humming lullaby. Welcoming the Loatoa's advances of jumping up to reach her shoulder, enjoying the comforts of the kit rubbing against her cheek. She had entirely missed what her mother had shouted out to her as she walked away. Knowing full well it wasn't for her ears, but for Lynx. All she could do now was hope that her mother and her mate could get along well.

The hybrid busied herself about the kitchen, she needed to focus on making some tea for her mother. Possibly her own man as well, though she wondered if he would even sit down to eat if her mother had managed to rile him up enough. The small baby in her belly was very energetic today, making it's tiny presence known to Teiluj. "I know small one. All will be well don't you worry."
