[ Pello 1 ]
It had been quite a few years since they last went on a treasure hunt, and Pello was itching to find something. Their children were old enough to travel, yet still were young enough to be at risk of danger, so he decided to see what options were available near by their home. Ignoring the ones about sunken pirate treasure or gold mines guarded by snaptrotters, he found a notice of an underwater ship port that had been recently discovered. After initially being explored for structural integrity, a wealthy merchant was sponsoring treasure hunters from Kahikina to go deeper underwater. Thankfully, Pello knew that they had an advantage with their aquatic disposition.
It seemed safe enough, and with it being off the coast the waters should be easily swimable for the younglings, and so he returned home to let Etana know and see if she was interested. After a big of debate, they decided they would bow out if something was a problem, and thus made way to the cost of Matori where the sunken marina was located.
Wading into the waters, Pello took a moment to consider the situation while his family prepared.

[ Keiba 1 ]
Traveling throughout Matori was eye opening for the youngling, but they were glad they had a chance to explore with their family. Keiba wasn't sure what an adventure or dive meant, but listened to the stories from their parents on how they grew up. It seemed like both Etana and Pello had quite a bit of freedom as younglings in Kahikina, and Keiba was excited to begin to get that freedom for themself.
The only downside was that they were not so used to the concept of travel and swimming, and more often than not found themselves agitated with how dirty they had become on the trip. Grumbling, they were happy to finally have arrived and darted to the shallows to brush off the travel grime.

[Tala 1]
Tala looked back and forth between his family, trying to figure out if he was excited or not about the idea of an adventure. His mother and father had told them both many many stories about their travels and the treasure they had found before they had decided to settle down and start a family. Tala knew that his father, Pello, was so so enthusiastic about adventuring and treasure collecting, but he had nothing to compare it to. He felt more like his mother growing up, more reserved with a solemn face. If you didn’t know him, you would think that Tala was just a grumpy person.
He scratched the back of his head and pulled his straight hair behind his ear before wading into the water with his dad. “I’m ready.” He answered to no one in particular. The kids didn’t really have to prepare or carry much so there wasn’t anything for Tala to wait on.

[Etana 1]
Etana closed up the bag she had been carrying and slung it over her shoulder. They had traveled light for this one, they didn’t have very far to go and it was more like a day trip than a true adventure. Etana thought back to the time her and Pello had sifted gold out of the river and smiled to herself. It was more like that than anything else.
It was their first time taking the kids out, and she could feel the excitement bubbling up inside of her. A family outing. Pello had been looking forward to it and in truth Etana had too. It had been too long since they were out exploring and she felt like this was the perfect excursion out. She could protect her family in case anything happened and the stakes were low.
She waded into the water with the others and nodded her head to the family. “If we feel like anything is out of sorts at all, we’re clearing out. No back talking.” She said to the kids. Her mind was on safety.

[ Pello 2 ]
As he watched his family gather together, Pello found himself warmed. It was something he had dreamed about since first talking about making a family with Etana, a chance to explore and show his children the world he had grown to love. Now that they were doing it, he found himself one part giddy and one part proud. Love blossomed in his chest at the sight of all three experiencing the adventure in their own ways, and he resisted the urge to go over and hug Etana like the proud father he was.
"Right." He added, covering up his smile with his 'serious' face. It was always forced, working muscles he mostly never used, and he looked keenly at both children, "And you stick close to one of us, always."
Not only was this an adventure, but the kids would be challenged to a new underwater environment. Best be a little more cautious.

[ Keiba 2 ]
As they continued to brush off the muck and dust from their skin, Keiba finally felt clean enough to focus on the situation at hand. Letting out a content sigh, they turned around to glance at their sister and mother, pursing their lips at the thought of diving under.
"Sure...I'm ready..." They echoed, a bit uncertain.

[Tala 2]
Tala nodded his head, echoing the feelings from his family that whatever they had planned to do, he was ready to do it.
He knew in the back of his mind that they could all breath underwater, they were made for it. But still Tala took a deep breath in before dunking his dark red hair under the water. They spent most of their days above land, so adjusting to the water was strange for him. He had to hype himself up to take his first breath of water, his body fighting something that was natural for kahikinans. He puffed out the remainder of air from his lungs and took his first big breath in. “So which way do we go?” He asked his dad.

[Etana 2]
Etana watched her son drop below the level of the surface and she nodded to Pello one more time before joining him. She sunk down, already swimming toward deeper waters. Pello had the map, he knew where to go, but realistically - there was only one way to go deeper from the shore. Once Pello had joined them she shot him a smile, watching their two kids get used to the waters. “Lead the way.” She called for him.

[ Pello 3 ]
As Tala and Etana moved under water, Pello gestured for Keiba to do the same as he waded easily underneath. The water always was so refreshing to the reef deweller, even if it was a bit different than back home. The sentimental feelings bloomed as he watched their two children get accostomed to it, sending a warm look toward Etana. He was proud of this family, grateful and appreciative of what they created together.
"Alright, how are we doing?" He checked as they drifted a little deeper into the shallows.

[ Keiba 3 ]
Bright golden eyes looked out across the waters as Keiba made way underneath, floating to avoid the muck that was disrupted from their decent. Taking a breath of water, Keiba became more comfortable as they floated further into the glistening deep, the sun filtering through the water and causing them to take a moment to appreciate how clean it felt.
"Good." They replied toward their father, before looking over toward Tala to quickly drift to their side.

[Tala 3]
Tala felt the water ripple to his left as Keiba settled in to their spot at his side. “Good over here.” Tala’s somber eyes looked around at the surrounding waters, “do we go deeper then?” He asked. He couldn’t really see anything to do in the shallows, but his dad seemed to know where he was going.
He took a second to look at his mom, the closer of the two, to make sure she was still there. He was a bit more of a momma’s boy than anything else, so seeing her there settled his nerves enough to start floating away from the coastline and toward the deeper waters. He would let his parents take the lead of course, but there was no reason not to keep moving.

[Etana 3]
“Everything looks good so far.” Etana nodded her head to Pello, scanning the waters for whatever may be there. Even though they were just going on a scavenging trip, there were still dangerous things lurking in the waters wherever someone may be - Kahikina or Matori.
Etana pulled her bow and her bag closer to her body as she drifted down the waters and into the darker areas of the deep. Her bobber helped light the way, though the light was not enough for all four of them to be comfortable. She looked toward the surface of the water and scanned for the sun. They hadn’t gone that far yet and already the sun’s rays were starting to lose their power.

[ Pello 4 ]
Pello gestured for his children to follow their mother, taking up the back so the kids would have eyes on them from both side. That and Etana was more equipped with her bobber to lead the way.
They had explained the importance of staying calm, especially with the silt risk when they got close to the wreck, and Pello was ready to dart forward and grab either kid if the vision became a problem.

[ Keiba 4 ]
Keiba kept close to Tala, brain working hard to ignore the dust particles floating in the water. They looked out ahead at their mother, slowly shifting to appreciate the awe of the deeper waters of the cove.
It was natural, the feeling of swimming in the deep and just as comfortable as dancing in the surf. Maybe it was their heritage shining through.
"Tala, look." They said as the sight of the wreck seemed to shimmer into view. Their eyes adjusted to the dark waters and left Keiba with a sense of awe and wonder.

[Tala 4]
Tala followed Keiba's gaze, staring in awe at the wreck that was just starting to show itself to the group. It was so incredible Tala didn't think that he had seen anything like this ever before.
"Can we go in? Can we swim faster?" Tala called out to Etana in the front. He was starting to get excited. The wreckage was growing closer by the minute and Tala instinctively swam closer to Keiba, keeping safety in numbers. The light was almost completely out now down here, the bobbers providing some of the stronger light in the group.
