A trio of performers stood at the center of the town playing upbeat and cheerful tunes. A drum, a harp, and a flute all sang into the air in a delightful chorus of sounds that would cheer up the chilliest heart. Faamy had no chill in her heart though, and she ate up the sounds to the fullest as she waited for Gabhan to arrive. Her old oud was slung over her back, but she had joined in the impromptu festivities with dance instead. After all, this was their performance more than her own. It wasn't her strongest skill, but she was no slouch either. She spun and swayed with the notes, feeling as free as a soaring kinfa.

Why shouldn't she be happy? Good music, a sunny day, and she had plans to spend more time with that hunk from her unexpectedly harmonic blind date. It had gone very well, in her humble opinion, and she looked forward to possibly considering this a second date just as much as did to just spending more time with a fellow musician. Who wouldn't want to dance with such delight in their soul?

Meeting Faamy was a stroke of luck that Gabhan was still reeling over. She was so smart, and had been all over Tendaji traveling and performing, just as he dreamed of doing himself! During their date, she'd explained to him what a djembe was, and while he was no stranger to drums he was captivated at the idea of there being so many different kinds to learn and play with! He hadn't had a chance to hear her music, as neither had brought instruments with them to their first date, but he was eager to listen to a true professional... and nervous, too, that when she heard HIS music her face would fall in disappointment.

Well. Part of being a performer, it seemed, was feigning confidence! So! Here he was - showing up to see her again. Was this a friendly meeting? Was this a ... date?

He was a bit late - MOSTLY because he'd come so early the last time that he overcompensated. He hurried along, hearing the group before seeing them. They played with more polish than the musicians he'd learned from, but with just as much cheerful joy, and a group of townspeople were dancing and clapping, enjoying the music. And among them, impossible to ignore thanks to her bright dress and flyaway curls, was Faamy.

The crowd was numerous, but not swarming, so it was easy to move to the front and watch, clapping along with the beat, grinning as she twirled.

After a couple more spins, Faamy stopped and did a double take at the sturdy figure notably standing now in front of the crowd. Her lips spread with a delighted grin. He'd made it! "I was gettin' worried," she teased playfully as she danced her way over to her new companion. "Dancin' ain't one'a my best skills." He wasn't cringing at the sight of her swaying about, so she must have been doing alright. She boldly reached out to take Gabhan's arm and gave it a playful tug. "How're you at it?"

Gabhan couldn't help but grin at her as she danced over, laughing as she gripped at his arm. "Oh, I'm terrible!" He professed loudly, so as to be heard over the music, and yet despite that he stepped forward, tucking his arm against hers so that he could swing her around in a spin.

"Better with a partner, so will you lend me a hand?" THAT was definitely flirting, but he felt emboldened and shameless for once, drunk on the jovial mood and the fun music.

Any prickle of dismay that those words would normally have raised in Faamy were bellied by that wonderful laugh. She just laughed along with even more delight in response. The playful swing made her eyes light up, thoroughly pleased with the willingness in the gesture. "I sure can. Folla' me now." She guided him away from the general audience first so that their imperfect fun wouldn't find them accidentally knocking into anyone. Swaying and moving with the beat, it was easy for her to get caught up in the freedom of the moment.

How could you not have the time of your life with such a lovely dance partner after all? And, perhaps, he was mischievously enjoying having the excuse to hold her hand, or to gaze at her face without being called out for his obvious pining.

Although, who was he fooling? They'd gone on a date already, and he was flirting now, she knew he was interested!

And now, they were dancing. Badly, still, but having a sense of rhythm (as the musicians they were) helped - and before he knew it he cared less about the actual dance, and leaned more into the music instead, pausing here and there to mime out the instruments as they played a familiar piece of music, making sure to add in flourishes.

When the song finally finished, he was breathless and laughing, applauding loudly with the rest of the dancers. "I don't think I've been on this side of it enough." He admitted, sheepishly.

Faamy clapped along when the song ended. Her attention quickly went back to Gabhan though, panting softly around a big smile. He looked so much more relaxed now that they'd had some fun and gotten some movement in. It was a good look on him. "There're ways ta change tha'." She took a deeper breath to catch it up and reached out for Gabhan's hand. "We can find s'more dancin' later. Fer now, I got somethin' special in mind fer us today." She wiggled her fingers at him playfully. "If ya dare."

Gabhan, also fighting to catch his breath, looked down at their hand when she took it, delighted at the point of contact. He gave it a squeeze, hoping that would silently communicate it, as they stepped away from the dancing. He looked at her again in open surprise, eyes crinkling in a playfully suspicious look. "Oh yeah? I dare then! What do ya have in mind?" Gabby leaned in towards her as if waiting to hear a secret, eyes sparkling.

Faamy's grin brightened. With a simple nod, she turned and began guiding her companion along. "Weeell, I was thinkin' a lot 'bout our first little date." She grinned coyly over her shoulder. "Lots o' good thinkin', I promise. Ya was sayin' how ya play an' all, so I figured I'd show ya one o' my favorite shops. They got all sorts o' talent makin' instruments, an' even hold performances on occasion." While she had planned that meeting spot since it wasn't a far walk from the shop, she found herself walking a tiny bit slower than usual to extend the trip just a little. It'd been a while since she had last enjoyed a little handholding!

Wait a moment. Faamy'd said first date - which meant this was a second one, right? Relieved and pleased, Gabhan grinned, following after her without complaint. Her hand was small against his own, but he couldn't stop himself from gently rubbing his thumb against the pads of her fingers, lightly calloused from playing stringed instruments. He felt another surge of appreciation, especially when she continued speaking.

"It's a blessin' you thought of me at all after our FIRST date." He said happily. Perhaps a bolder man would have asked 'Think of me often?' but Gabhan wasn't used to actually being interested in the women who were interested in him back, too used to the local girls his family tried to set him up with.

Amazing what having a joint interest could do for a newly blooming relationship. "Annnnd, I'm in the market for a new instrument - sounds perfect!"

The motion was subtle, but Faamy noticed the extra touch in their hands. The quiet affection sent a little warmth to her chest. It had been a while since she'd had the joy of a second date... and such gestures were rare. It felt good. "Ain't that hard ta believe, is it?" she mused with a warm glance. "I sure enjoyed plenty think' 'bout ya." Unlike Gabhan, Faamy had zero issue being bold.

"Actually, that there's what I was hopin' fer. I was sad ta hear 'bout your oud..." She was quiet for a moment out of respect for the fallen instrument. Tragic. "Figured this would be a good time ta, ya know, mend the wound, so ta speak. ..B'sides, goin' there's always a good time."

Oh. Oh my! Gabhan felt his cheeks go warm, but didn't bother pushing down the stupid, smitten grin that flowered across his face anyway. As for an instrument, he felt excited at the prospect. Music stores in Belrea weren't unheard of, but Gabhan had never been a rich man, and couldn't say he'd been able to do more than window shop before. He expected this time to be the same, but here he had a bit more hope of being able to save up to afford something, or perhaps luck his way into a pre-owned instrument.

He'd rather one of those anyway - well loved instruments always sounded best, even if they needed some patching to get back up to snuff. Gabhan pursed his lips to stop from laughing, but did make an exaggerated gesture of prayer with his free hand, so he could 'pray for the fallen' too. "I think I'm gonna regret you showing me this place - all my paycheck's'll go straight to it, going forward." He teased.

To top off the warmth in her chest-! A wiggle of something that she wasn't used to feeling rippled through her at the sight of that silly grin. Faamy felt the slightest bit of heat prickle at her cheeks and blinked with surprise. Well now...

She gave Gabhan's hand a squeeze and nodded, moving right along. "Zero regrets! A big part a' bein' a musician is knowin' the right folk. they'll get ya all settled an' right fer whatever ya need." Her smile quirked playfully. "An' hey, maybeh I'll get a discount fer bringin' them a new addict."

"You're right, you're right. Ah-hah! I see - using me for a referral bonus! I respect the hustle." Gabhan joked good naturedly. Pink was a pretty color on her cheeks - then again that wasn't a surprise, given the tinge of her lips and the crystals on her collarbones. It was still so surprising how similar she looked to the lightning Belreans he knew, and yet her coloring was more gentle in comparison.

They finally made it to their destination, and Gabhan hurriedly lurched forward to fetch the door for her, casting a quick look at Faamy. He was forced to let go of her hand, since sidling through a doorway hand in hand was a little hard to maneuver. "So - you've performed here before?" He asked, remembering she'd mentioned performances as well as instrument crafting.

Ah, a good sport at that! "Gotta find whatevah way ya can ta get along in this world," she mused lightly. Her fingers twitched through the now empty space around them while a sweet smile curled her lips. She gave her thanks as the door was held for her with a subtle toss of her hair for effect. "Tha' pavilion there. They 'ave regular events there that I might show fer. I usually play at the taverns an' halls, 'r out on the streets. Whereveh I feel needs a bit o' music ta warm things up." And if she felt like that area was where the audience would be more willing to tip her then all the better~

Inside, the building was deeper than it looked from outside. The walls and shelves displayed different string and wind and percussion instruments. Some were shining new while others had lost their glow from previous use. A little something for everyone. She looked back for Gabhan's reaction and pointed. "Won't be a lot, but ouds'll be over that way. G'head an' look at whateveh yer little heart desires. Whole shop is interestin' ta see."
