The Leaves (7)
Thierry loved autumn, no better holiday for a large fluffy cat such as himself, and this year, his other human, Glen, offered to teach him how to make pumpkin pie! A second favorite vegetable for him, tomatoes of course always being first. As the orange cat made his way through the park and town, he admired all of the leaves falling, something he also loved. He loved to crunch them under his paws, jump in the windswept leaves and the piles people would make in their yards. (He also loved to maybe...munch on them, but that was his secret) Speaking of, he noticed some piles on his way. Great, big, beautiful piles! He looked around, hoping the people milling about wouldn't notice , did a little shake and shimmy, the usual play pose of every cat, and jumped in the nearest pile! Only to come out in a different pile. "Huh?" He said, confused. Last he checked, leaves didn't do magic stuff. Maybe he imagined it? He decided to try again, picking a different pile, and jumping right in, this time feeling a slight tube feeling, like he was going through a slide, and came out in another leaf pile.Okay, that was definitely weird. He rolled around in a shallow pile, thinking of this. (Look, he was already in knee deep in usual cat behavior, he might as well keep going.) "So, I go to one pile, and come out the other, I do wonder if that means i can do the opposite. I'm sure Glen won't mind me being a little late." With that, he decided to test it. Hopping up, he went to a previous pile, one he had come out in, and jumped in, ending up...in a pile he had been in. Oh boy, he was about to have an absolute blast testing. For several hours, Thierry would proceed to crunch the leaves, jump in piles, appear seemingly miles from where he had been, and hopping out right where he left off. He loved the feeling he would get, as if he was tumbling around playing with a particularly fun toy Theodore bought, or jumping and flipping to get that practice in for his mauvian tasks, practice both humans occasionally helped with, honing in his skills with play as well. When he grew bored with the jumping and playing in the piles, he at last noticed the greatest boon; that the shallow piles he was rolling earlier were parts of a much bigger solid floor of leaves. With a shout, he began to happily stomp on them with his paws, playing just a bit longer before he got the sense of urgency. Oh, he guessed Glen was nearby and looking for him. With a sigh, Thierry got up, sad to leave the leafs and piles, but he did want that pie, especially now with playing for so long, he had gotten pretty hungry. He made his way the last bits to Glen's house, getting quite the brushing when Glen finally saw the state of him.
