Elzira's illness brought many great things to Tendaji. It brought two warring sisterhoods together; it brought the knowledge of a greater sisterhood with roots across Tendaji. So when Azehra and Esena began to show signs of decay, excitement and anticipation began to spread through the Vandrea and Elidae communities. It may have been a little early, but the signs were still clear. Both trees were beginning to go through the same puberty that brought hybrid blooms to both Aisha and Elzira.
When the time came, the mystics of each sisterhood gathered their communities together at the base of their trees, their cries of joy and celebration filling the air as the first flower bloomed. And then another. And another.
Curiously, each tree seemed to explode in flowers across their leaves, a sight never before seen by the elders and mystics. The air became heavy with the scent of floral blooms, and the sisterhoods rejoiced as their Great Mothers became a symbol of health and prosperity for future generations.
[ News has spread that the Vandrea and Elidae trees have matured! For some, this is a symbol of great health, while others are hesitant at the idea of such young trees taking on the burden of blooming Earthling hybrids. This prompt should include your character reacting to the news of the trees.
This prompt is only available to Aishans AND earthlings directly impacted by this news - i.e. an Earthling partner of a Vandrea/Elidae finding out they have the opportunity to seek a hybrid blessing from the tree. ]

The gathering for that first bloom was much more crowded than Tuulitaika was used to. Any trips to town were on average days or small festivals where sisters came and went throughout the day. This day though, it seemed as though every sister and cousin possible was present at Azehra’s roots. Of course, only the unlucky were unable to be there at such an important moment. While she wasn’t the most comfortable in such chaos, she made sure to put herself as close to her mother tree as she could. She was curious and eager to see everything firsthand.
The cheer responding to the first bloom opening was deafening. She had to put her hands over her ears, but she still had a wide smile of awe and adoration on her lips as blossom after blossom spread its petals wide in the sunlight. Azehra really was going to be alright!
There was a much deeper meaning to the celebrations though. She could see the mixed emotions of her sisters around her and heard it in the chatter. Everyone was glad to see their goddess mature and grow stronger… but knowing what it meant for their species was a different story. Non-Aishans. Those earthlings and Kahi fish folk… Azehra would now welcome anyone to her roots to request daughters. It wasn’t a guarantee, the same as any plea brought forth, but it could now happen. Hybrids.
She stood and closed her eyes as she inhaled deeply while she noted the excited and concerned and disappointed murmurs that floated around. For herself, she had little qualm with the changes about to happen. She certainly was not sitting there eager for hybrids, but she wasn’t going to stand there and fight against them either. From what she had heard about Aisha in Chibale and Elzira in Zinris, the growth was an inevitable step in their mother tree’s path. As much as she enjoyed questioning everything around her, surely the goddesses knew best. There was also a question of Azehra’s abilities to have such blooms. Was the still young tree truly strong enough for such responsibilities? Again, Tuula could not relate to the concerns. As she took in that hearty floral scent of the blooms, she could only smile and have faith that Azehra knew what she was doing.
“Do you sense it?” Viatrix, Tuula’s mother, had hung back to spend the renewal with a few peers. Now that the crowd wasn’t so packed in she approached the tree and her daughter. The older woman had a content smile on her lips as she reached out to gently place one hand on a sturdy root. “A fresh start for us all has begun.”
Tuula cocked her head without opening her eyes. “A fresh start?”
Viatrix chuckled lightly. “Yes. A new chapter in the book of the Vandrea. Azehra has come of age, as do we all. It will come with new challenges, but there will also be an abundance of new blessings.” She looked over at her daughter and pursed her lips. “Perhaps you will one day be of the mind to take advantage of Azehra’s new abilities?”
Tuula’s eyes now opened and she looked at her mother with an amused but subtly pleased smirk. “Oh, I am still quite a ways away from asking for a daughter. Although, I’ve never given any thought to bonding with an earthling.”
Viatrix nodded patiently. “And now that daughters, and even sons, are a possibility in your future? What do you feel?”
Sons… That had been even further from her mind than even bonding with a non-Aishan! If she were to be one of those Aishans to welcome a son, what would she do? “It doesn’t deter me from the hope,” she decided as she turned to face her mother fully. “Would it upset you to get a hybrid granddaughter or grandson?”
Viatrix’s face warmed affectionately. “A child of my child… there is nothing that would make me any less than joyous for their arrival when you are ready for them.”
Tuula’s smile warmed to match the tone of the conversation. “Any daughter- or son- would be a blessing. If Azehra permits it, so it will be.” She chuckled and shook her head. “I wish for a proper partner first. It will be some time before my path crosses such a milestone.”
Viatrix smirked knowingly and shrugged. “One never knows how their life will turn out.” She reached out to path one of the big roots again. “Whatever turns it takes, I know Azehra will be with you. With all of us. She is stronger than ever before, and will only continue to grow.”
Tuula nodded and closed her eyes again. The fragrance in the air was divine, and the warmth in her chest was hopeful. She had no solid plans for her future. She just wanted to live her life. If that included a partner and children, no matter what their bloodline.. Well, she would face it when the time arrived.
