[Changes]Branna often slept until later in the morning, sometimes past noon, whenever he was at the sanctuary and his services weren’t needed for chores. Most had learned to allow the musician to sleep in when possible since he wasn’t the best of morning people considering his late night habits. Branna much preferred staying up late, enjoying the stars and the moon while composing music by candlelight, and the morning sun was harsh on him when he only had about three hours of sleep or so. Not that he always had such bad habits, it just had been as of late since he preferred working under the night sky rather than in the daylight for musical inspiration. Once the piece was complete then he would resume somewhat normal hours for the rest of the family for a couple of weeks before returning to his nocturnal schedule once more. This morning though Branna couldn’t really sleep, his body feeling so irritated because of all the pollen that had spread across the place yesterday. So instead he grabbed his satchel, hoping to gather some flowers or some herbs that he could make into a lotion to help with the irritation. In his morning haste, the young bard didn’t even stop to consider his appearance for once, a rare thing when he often took great care before showing up. His hair remained tied back in a loose braid over a shoulder, Branna not even taking a moment at the mirror before sliding into a casual outfit with a heavier cloak to fight off any chill from the approaching winter winds. Thankfully there were still a few weeks of autumn left which meant that there surely were some herbs still growing around the forest on the southern side of the sanctuary, the very place he meant to check out for some medicinal herbs and the like.

Teagan's morning chores had her out at the stable in the dim morning hours. Never one to take much notice of her own appearance, her beauty routine usually consisted of blindly running a comb through her short cropped hair before splashing a little water on her face; and today had been no different. It didn't even matter that her eyes felt dry and itchy. It would pass! She had work to do! She came out of the stable with a few empty burlap sacks over her shoulder to take over to the mill to refill. On her way to the wagon though, she finally had to pause as she dug the heels of her hands into her eyes with an irritated growl. She must have gotten something in them while she'd been sleeping and it still needed to get out.

Branna had been passing a wagon, the sudden sound of an irritated growl making him frown and pause instead of continuing forward. Was one of the raptrix out here instead of in the back fields? Or had something feral actually wandered into the animal sanctuary? The musician pondered his options, slowly slinking around the side of the wagon before letting out a sigh of relief when he realized it was just his sister. "Teagan. You made me think there was a loose animal." He teased, his gaze glancing over her and her cargo. The changes had him squinting, Branna curious if it was just the lightning and then shrugging it off as if maybe he was simply too tired to properly remember what was what for his sister's appearance.
"If you don't want to do chores that badly then maybe you could go into the forest with me. I'm looking for some herbs to make a lotion because of that irritating pollen." Even though he didn't participate in helping with the animals as much, Branna did spend a lot of time learning about how to make ointments and such to help out instead.

The sudden voice made Teagan flinch and spin around with surprise. "Branna! You startled me!" she scolded with zero bite. This was rather early for him to be wandering around. She couldn't help an amused smirk. Loose animal, eh? "Hey, don't dismiss the idea so quick. Mama compared me to a capra the other day." She still wasn't sure why.. "I ain't avoiding my chores. My eyes're itching like crazy." She continued rubbing at one eye while the other peered at her brother with confusion. "Did you dye your hair last night?"

The musician simply shook his head, amusement dancing in his gaze as he studied his sister. "Itching eyes?" He mused with a frown. "That pollen, right? I couldn't sleep well because of how irritated my whole body felt." He never truly had that bad of an allergic reaction before and had nearly been ready to go to the healer before waking up this morning feeling better, the itchiness easing but still bothering him enough to inspire the idea to make a lotion for it.
"Perhaps we can get some of those herbs to make eyedrops for you...." His voice trailed off, the frown returning at the question. "Did I dye my hair?" He repeated as his hand was already moving to pull at the loosely braided hair so that he could look at it. "I didn't dye my hair, but that's not the color it was yesterday." Branna acknowledged, oddly calm as he tried to figure out the strange situation they were in. How....there was no one that was that fond of trickery at the sanctuary at the moment either. So he couldn't even think of anyone to blame, especially since Teagan looked confused as well. Speaking of which..."Your hair looks slightly off as well. " Branna noted, his lips pressing tightly together as he twisted the end of his braid this and that way to try to inspect the new colors. He had once said that he wanted to stand out from Azreal, but this was unexpected indeed.

"Ugh, I know, right? My scalp was itchin' and my eyes are still buggin' me." That pollen had certainly been a menace hidden behind a pretty, fluffy façade. If it ever came back again, she was just going to spend the day inside! About to approve of the eyedrops idea, she squinted at Branna hair as the braid was pulled up. It was definitely different! Was he trying to pull a fast one? He wasn't really the type though. Then she realized her was looking harder at her and went still under the scrutiny. "What?" Unlike Branna, she couldn't pull her short locks around to get a clear look at. She had to pull the longer bangs forward to peer at the tips. "What happened? I didn't dye anythin'."

It definitely sounded like they both needed some herbal ointment to help with the irritation. Branna frowned though when even Teagan seemed to have something wrong with her hair, his own already noticeably different as well. "I think chores can wait. We might want to try to get some herbs and see if washing our hair with them makes a difference." Though his face was still the same, right? It was just the color? Branna pursed his lips thoughtfully as he kept pondering things.
"It doesn't look awful, does it?" He asked after another moment, staring at his sister with some worry.

She licked her fingers and scrubbed at her hair a little. Nothing came off on her fingers.. so not ink. Maybe soap would do it. "I'll be sure mama knowns you're the one who said ta leave the chores," she teased with a smirk. Of course, she was also completely serious. Leave chores to figure out why they simply looked different? Gods forbid! Teagan leaned forward and squinted at her brother as she inspected the revamped appearance. This would have been a perfect time to mess with him... Darn it, she was too soft when it came to Branna. "Nothin' ta worry about. I think it looks good, actually." She rubbed at her eyes again, and froze in place. The irritation... "Do my eyes look different, too? Nothin' else was botherin' me."

Branna wasn't ruffled in the slightest by the comment, a small smile crossing his lips. Usually he was the type to simply sit in the back and observe, but since both he and Teagan had been affected by these changes it was enough to make him take action. "That's fine. I'll tell her myself if she asks." They could always come back and take care of things later, or if any of the cousins were around then perhaps he could bribe one of them to help with a song or something as reward.
A soft sigh left his lips, the musician nodding at the approval. "That's a relief." He was thankful that Teagan supported it, trusting her to not mess with him at such a crucial time like this. He was a bit vain about his appearance, after all, and it would have been devastating to look awful after this. "Your eyes?" He repeated before moving so that he could stare intently at her face. "They might be slightly darker, nothing bad." Maybe even a bit of a greenish hue in the right lighting? "They remind me of those golden wildflowers that grow in the fields during the spring." That wasn't so bad, right?

Well, now that the issue of their mother was understood, Teagan could focus a bit more on the situation at hand. She bounced on her toes as she waited for the verdict on her eyes. Ah! So they had changed. Wildflowers? She felt a little heat rise to her cheeks and she leaned back with a wave of her hand. "I guess I'm glad the changes seem kinda subtle. Definitely not as big as yer's. Speakin' of flowers, do ya know which herbs and stuff we should try?"

Branna twisted a strand of hair in his hand again, the musician pondering the changes some more before answering Teagan. "There's the purple thistle plants that grow by the edge of the forest, I thought we could try them." He had wanted to make something for the itching, not realizing they looked different as well from the pollen. "There's also that one blue plant that grows by the stream, if you crush it then it oozes a liquid that is apparently soothing. That could help with the itching...the color changes though, well we can try washing with some soap I can make from the lavender and thistle growing down there." Their aunt would have some honey stored away in the kitchen, that would work with the roati milk to make a nice soap for them to try to use though Branna had a feeling that these changes were not going to be simply washed away.
He tapped a finger against his lips thoughtfully. "We can gather some herbs, come back here and I can make the soap for a bath. Even if it doesn't change us back at least it'll feel nice to rinse off after finishing up those chores when the soaps set."

"Oh, I've used that blue one before. Works real good." She ran a hand through her short hair and brought it back in front of her face again. Nothing was rubbing onto her skin... Like Branna, she was doubting a simple wash would get rid of the new color. It wouldn't hurt to try though. After a morning of work, a bath would feel good anyway. A good break for a good reason! "Okay. You get the soap stuff an' I'll get the soothing stuff. The lavender'll be good fer that, too. And it'll make the blue stuff smell better." Though not exactly unpleasant, the blue plant didn't leave behind a scent worth being happy about either. "Maybe we should make enough fer everyone else? Ain't heard nothin' yet, but I've been out here all mornin'."

"Sounds like a plan." Branna nodded with a smile, trying to remain calm even though it was disturbing to see such a different shade of hair every time he glanced towards his shoulders where he could see some strands. "We can do that." He agreed, thinking about the others and hoping that they would be alright even if they had changed colors as well. "I'll try to make a batch of ten bars or so, that should be plenty." That way even if the soap wasn't all used today they would have more to last through the season. It was nice for a relaxing bath, even if it didn't change their colors back. And if others were affected then surely it was a good enough reason for them to delay any chores for the day, considering the circumstances.
So with that in mind, Branna gestured for Teagan to follow him. "Let's go gather what we can by the stream before it gets too late. I want to try to have the soaps ready by dinner." It was going to be a busy day that was for certain and he knew that he would want to relax after dinner with that bath that hopefully would help with the skin irritation at least.

Teagan snorted and rubbed at her eyes again. "Sometimes I forget how many we got livin' here." The sanctuary was large enough that they could go all day without seeing another soul. Plus, their parents traveled with them enough that they weren't always there to see everyone come and go. Now that she and Branna were older, perhaps things would soon be changing for them... With a nod, she did a skip to dart around the wagon and catch up. "I'll definitely have the ointment lotion cream stuff ready by then!" Once they got back, she could give herself a better look over. Perhaps it wouldn't be too bad?
