After the Aishan trees had suddenly and furiously bloomed, pollen had started to fall from the sky in never before seen quantities. The sun seemed choked by its presence and the breeze currents seemed to carry it across all of Tendaji.
Curiously enough, the impact of the pollen could be seen in earthlings...
Random earthlings across Tendaji saw cracks and fissures in their skin, shedding as if they had a sunburn. New skin tones shone through from underneath. Almost as if by magic new eye colors and crystal colors emerged with a night's rest. Earthlings changed overnight without regard to their family lineage. Brothers and sisters now sported new colors; mothers and daughters that once looked like spitting images captured the eyes of many with their sudden differences.
What could be made of these changes? The world was in upset, some overjoyed and thrilled at the new colors, others in despair as their self views shifted beneath their feet.
[ Earthlings (and those with earthling blood) have started to suddenly change colors! What does your character make of the changes? Did they change too, or do they just witness the new looks of someone close? Are they fascinated in this sudden new change, or are they in the throws of woe? Let us know how your character handles the change in the world! ]Color Swatch Change: Hair: 11 Crystals: 18

With mug and rag in hand, Owaen watching those mill around outside the tavern’s windows and along the streets. The forcast for the the day was high in pollen, but rather sunny with a touch of wind to keep the pollen from collecting too much in one spot. Looking away, he looked towards Meg, an older geian wipe down a couple of tables as the men left to head back to work.
“Do you think that the rumors are true? Are people waking up with different colored skin and such?” he asked putting the mug away to pick up another one to dry off.
‘Not too sure there Owaen. Ma said that she had seen some with flaking skin. But I have yet to see anything like that.’ she paused to tap her chin in thought, 'Never know couold be true.’
Owaen frowned a little as he looked back outside. The croweds didn’t seem that different. Some did hold cloths over their faces as if the pollen were toxic. Were they afraid of changing? Shaking his head, the boy put the mug he was holding away before slinging the rag into the pile of dirty linens. Pucking the basket up soon after he headed towards the back to wash them. On his way he stopped by the kitchen to see what the cook was up to.
“Hey, need anything washed?” Owaen asked as he stepped through the door.
The cook was a big man, he was a hybrid of Geian and Lightning with bright green hair and blazing purple eyes. His lighter skintone was a wash with darker brown markings across his arms and up his neck. He had once been a galley master on a ship before his crew was dispanded. The captain had found herself someone and didn’t wish to risk her life on the open seas. The man was more then willing to join the crew, she refused. All the same, he came to work for the tavern and was one heck of a cook.
‘Nah Owaen. You head on, I have not much for cleaning and can do it on my own.’ he waved Owaen on as he went back to cooking, ‘Ah, here. Something to snack on while you work.’ The cook slide a plate of fruit skewers down the counted to stop near Owaen.
“Thanks, I was getting hungry.” Owaen grinned as he shifted the basket to one arm and picked up the plate with the other hand.
Nudging the back door open with his foot, said door only being a swinging door, Owaen stepped outside and looked around the back courtyard of the Tavern. He took a look around at the pollen that was falling in clouds of fluff. He wasn’t too sure what to make of it all. Heck he wasn’t sure if those who were experiencing changes weren’t just high on something. Shaking his head, he headed over to the washpan to start cleaning the linens he had in the basket.
“Things are always getting so strange.” He muttered to himself as he started to draw water from the pump into the basin. “I wonder if I remain out here long enough something might happen to me?” This was an amusing thought as he stopped the water and started scrubbing.
While he worked, he batted away small clouds of pollen fluff, the wind picking up a bit more to move things on and wave around the linens that were hung on lines to dry. While he stood there watching the sky, cloud passed over head. Owaen wasn’t too sure if they were real clouds or just large clusters of pollen fluff. A small fluff cluster did drift close though that Owaen cause it in his hands and looked at it closely.
“I don’t see much different between you and the rest of the pollen that drifts through here. Besides being in a bigger cluster.” He said as he tossed the pollen into the air and watch the wind carry it away.
Stretching, the sun was straight over head, Owaen thought it was a grand time to get a little rest before the rush came in. Reentering the tavern he headed upstairs to one of the few rooms that were reserved for the employees. “A small nap then back to work.” He yawned heading inside and flopping onto the bed.
It didn’t seem long before he had awaken again. Well he was awakened by someone shouting for him to get up and that the rush was starting. Just about jumping out of his own skin, Owaen dashed towards the door and down stairs to help with the afternoon rush. When he got to the main floor, Meg was the one that noticed somehting strange about Owaen from earlier.
‘Owean, your hair… Did you use the small down time to dye it?’ she asked approaching and reaching out to touch his hair.
“No? I had taken a small nap.” he said confused.
‘Well it is cute on you.’ she said before sweeping off to take an order.
He was greatly confused at what was going on as he looked towards the large mirror that hung behind the bar. His hair was indeed a darker orange then he was used to. Perhaps this was a good thing? All the same, Owaen was greatly confused at what was going on. Perhaps those rumors were indeed true.
“Huh, guess some gossip prove true.” He mused before Meg started yelling at him to hurry up with the Ale order. “Four? Coming right up Meg!” He shouted back hopping behind the bar and begining his job.
