It’s a difficult job to try and keep up with them all, and sometimes the allure of these leaf piles is impossible to ignore. Maybe they just need a good kick? Or, who doesn’t want to relive the childish joys of their youth? And no one’s around to see, right? So why not jump into a pile of leaves? Oh–because, when you do, you jump through one pile and come out of another somewhere else across the city. The leaves all seem ordinary, but there’s a few odd seconds between when you jump into the leaves and when you jump out; it feels like falling, tumbling, somersaulting through the air. It’s not scary, just odd. You see walls of leaves–brown and orange and yellow and red–and they crunch magnificently. Overall, it doesn’t seem menacing, just a bit of trickster fun. If you try to step into, or jump in a pile of leaves again, you might wind up somewhere else entirely–or right back where you started.
At some point she just couldn't resist the temptation. And it's not like there was anyone around to notice, not that they'd actually know who she was anyway. She spread her arms out in front of her and toppled into the leaf pile. Except, she didn't stop. Not for a while. It felt like falling, but not a scary sort of fall. But then she popped out, somewhere totally different from before and laughing with a huge smile on her face.
She was so caught up in it, that it took her a second to realize she wasn't alone. "Oh...Curls." The nickname slipped out so easily. But this wasn't just any Periclase that was standing in front of her. Someone had been quite busy while Lori had ran off for several years without much explanation and certainly no attempt to keep in touch with anyone.
"Ah, congrats on your wings!" Nubi shook her head, she had definitely been starring. Just starring at her and taking in the changes. She suddenly felt very left behind, and here she boasted about her own badness. Normally, Nubi was never at a loss for words but she couldn't quite think of anything else to say in this situation. Al she could do was fiddle with her own hands.

Of all the things that Periclase was expecting today, seeing her…ex(?) girlfriend popping out of a pile of leaves was nowhere near any box on her daily bingo sheet.
She stared, half transfixed by the smile that was on Nubi’s face…she…looked so absolutely happy…and that…made Peri’s heart skip a few beats…and when she was finally seen, the Eternal Corrupt felt absolutely tongue tied. “Oh. Uh. Yeah. Thanks!” She swallowed, hoping that by doing so she would be able to figure out how to speak again…how to think...but.
“...You look beautiful, as always. I’m. Um. Where did you go?” Oh. Well. s**t. Maybe she should have taken longer to really think about what she was going to say, because that absolutely wasn’t what she had meant to let come out…and the fact that she sounded so absolutely unhappy. So absolutely lost with the words…
Maybe she should just jump into the leaf pile and hope it would swallow her up.

Preiclase, or curls as she called her, had every reason to just turn away and totally ignore their unexpected reunion. Still, she stayed. Not only that she asked a big question. Where did she go? Why and where? So much had happened in her life. Nubi had entered this world on the promise that it was the only right way to live, but then been betrayed by the very person who brought her into it. It had left her distraught. Coupled with what had happened to her twin, she had just needed an escape.
Prei calling her beautiful only made her blush, Peri was the only one that could do that to her. "I went to school in... Prague." Obviously that answer didn't make a lost of sense. Why had she done it, why had she just left it all behind? Maybe for a moment she just didn't fell like she belonged. There was a brief moment in her life that she thought maybe she had made a mad decision to join this chaotic force in the world. Was it really right? Honestly, seeing Periclase in all her glory now made her realize it was all it was made to be.
"And I am sorry. For just leaving like that...And you're beautiful too. I just...my brother...and...It's hard to explain. But You're beautiful too!" Only then did she realize she had repeated herself and she was desperate to divert her attention. "Would you like to jump through these leaves with me? The sensation is amazingly fun!" If anything, she knew the old Curls would have enjoyed this sensation with her. She held out her hand expectantly. There was no saying they would end up in the same place. But maybe they could just count that as destiny one way or the other.

“Prague?” Periclase hesitated, trying to remember just where Prague was…let alone why anyone would want to go to school there. “...I know that’s in some other country, at least I’m like, mostly sure that it is, what country and…why? What’s in Prague?”
It sounded…kind of gross, honestly. The name wasn’t a lovely one, and the effort of saying it made her nose scrunch up instinctively.
“I’m glad you’re back.” Reaching out, Periclase took hold of Nubi’s hand and squeezed it lightly. “Yeah, all right. Do you think it’ll separate us if we’re holding on? Because…I don’t really plan on letting go.”
As though to prove her point, she squeezed a bit harder. “It’s just…been the same here, I suppose. You haven't missed much. But I have missed you so. There’s that.”

Prague was a very weird place indeed. Honestly, it had all been her twin's idea to get away and forget it all. He had handled their tranfers, found their apartment, and in general her provided an escape for them.
"It's somewhere in Europe!" Honestly, that was all she had cared to know. That is was somewhere she could safely escape to for a while. Not care about who or what she was and just focus on something she cared to do. Nothing spectacular had happened to her there. She had just existed. If anything, she had learned to calm down a bit and her brother had learned to have some fun.
More importantly, Periclase took her hand. It was something she would have expected from her old companion, but was totally unexpected of their reunion. It made her more confident in their changes. Even with their time apart, they were still the same people underneath it all. It was a bit reassuring. Hopefully she hadn't became a completely different person after a few years apart.
"I've missed you too!" Nubi went an extra step and pullled her into a quick hug before walking them toward the pile of leaves. "I hope to see you on the other side!" She shot her 'friend' a big smile and pulled them in. Squeezing Peri's hand she pulled them into the leaf pile and hoped they'd end up in the same place.

Somewhere in Europe…that answered so much, but Periclase didn’t say anything snotty, she only gave a little chuckle and leaped into the leaves, holding tightly to Nubi’s hand as she did so.
Okay…so this transport via leaf was indeed a real thing, and she gave a small laugh as they fell, making sure not to let go for a moment.
When they both ended up ankle deep in yet another pile of leaves, Periclase laughed. “How could you have lost me, I wasn’t going to let go of you again now that I had the chance to keep hold. You goose.”
She still hadn’t let go of Nubi’s hand and instead drew the other senshi back into her arms. “Look. Just…let me know the next time you run off to Prague. I’ll…write or something. We can email. Facetime. Whatever. Don’t just vanish on me again. Please.”
Falling quiet for a moment, Periclase shrugged. “...I really missed you.”

Who was to say they would end up in the same place? Nubi had only done this once and that was it. No science told her that squeezing Peri's hand bring them to the same location. For all she knew that could be the end of their fated reunion. Who was to say if the other would reach out to her again, certainly she weirdly didn't have the confidence to again. If she had done it as soon as she returned, why would she now? Bridges burnt were well, bridges burnt after all.
Or so she would have thought, until she was still holding onto Peri's hand and they were knee deep in a pile of leaves in an entirely different part of the city. "Well I was holding on for dear life as well..."
Still in the pile of leaves, Peri pulled her closer. There was no resistance. Nubi allowed herself to come closer and her arm wrapped around Per's waist. Their eyes locked for a moment as she listened to the other girl's words. A sense of guilt washed over her for the first time in her life. She'd been selfish in a way to walk away from it all. To eager to escape from her problems, she hadn't really considered anyone other then her twin.
"I don't have any reason to leave again...Besides, Prague was nice. But it...wasn't home. I wouldn't be back other wise." She pulled them gently out of the leaves, just in the event that staying in them prompted them into another teleporting adventure.
They were so close now. Her arm was still around Peri's waist and their other hands were still clasped. She looked into her eyes and tugged her a bit closer. "Now's your only chance to tell me if you have any other...obligation that would keep me from kissing you." Hopefully, she had read the room right. She wasn't used to chasing someone like this. A few years had gone by though and surely, some things had happened between now and then. For the both of them.

Periclase hesitated and shrugged. “I had someone for a little while, but she vanished too…it was never as serious as I thought things with you were so…it didn’t bother me as much when she vanished…but, no. There’s nothing stopping you from kissing me…and I hope that means there’s nothing stopping me from kissing you…because honestly…that’s the only thing I want to do right now.”
In fact, Peri didn’t bother waiting. Nubi had made her intentions known, and Peri had made hers, and so without missing another moment, she reached up and wrapped her free arm around the back of Nubi’s head, softly kissing her and feeling as though the world was simply melting away.
…She had missed this.
