Quote: One Foggy Night (6) - As the seasons shift, the temperature changes too. It’s not uncommon for fog to roll in, sometimes from the mountains, sometimes out of nowhere. This fog is particularly thick and difficult to see through; Destiny City has issued several weather warnings and cautions being out or driving at night. It’s easy to get lost and difficult to see obstacles. Not to mention the strange, smothering sensation of dread and fear that rolls in with the fog. While there is sometimes the sensation of being watched, it worsens when the sun goes down. Some have even said they’ve caught glimpses of a tall, horned figure traveling with the fog. The news has reported that this is probably just a side effect of climate change and suspects that weather patterns should return to normal towards the end of the month. "Wezen! Don't go too far from me!" Sinistra called miserably. Patrolling lately had been a real nightmare. She supposed it came with the season, but being used to it did not mean she liked it in any way, and she was constantly on edge and stressed out because of it. And this fog was certainly not helping things. In fact, she seemed to be feeling even worse, the thicker it got.
Really, the rumors of a tall, horned creature made her wonder if Wezen had snuck out and someone had spotted her, though she knew it was more likely to be some kind of youma or, due to the season, a trick of the fog itself. None of the reports mentioned attacks of any kind.
She sighed, looking around but barely able to see the form of her roommate only a foot or so away. It did not help that the alien was so silent at the best of times. In fact, she seemed right at home in the fog.
And for her part, Wezen did feel oddly relaxed. For some reason, this oppressive fog, while not actually present on her home planet, reminded her a bit of it. It was not exactly a comforting feeling, but it was familiar. In that way, then, maybe her mind was tricked into being calm, even moreso than usual, because she felt like she had experienced this before. Of course, on her planet she had been created to serve a purpose, and though she never knew it, there had been overlords watching over all of the prisoners. Wezen had been one of the few natives to remain on planet, simply thrown into the wheel as a cog without a second thought.
No one had known what was coming, or who she truly was. And then, it was all over. Earth was much better, and this feeling of familiarity in the fog only made her want to get rid of it all the more.
There had to be a source around here somewhere.

Ngome was thinking of ending her patrol early. It was foggy. It was very foggy. And she couldn't see anything beyond a few feet. It was frustrating and unnerving at the same time. But duty called, and she could not let her guard down. Ngome trudged through the dense fog. She had to keep telling herself that Destiny City is just a weird city. Anything can happen. She knew firsthand how weird Destiny City was. Ngome had only been on this planet for a few months, but she had already encountered things that she never would have believed possible. Magical creatures, powerful beings, and even aliens. "ugg It's too thick to see, maybe I should just head home."She wanted to see the creature that everyone was talking about seeing.

Sinistra hurried toward what she thought was Wezen in the fog, but was in for a surprise. Stopping just short of grabbing hold of Ngome's arm, she looked wide eyed and startled when she saw someone she did not know, rather than the tall, dour alien she was expecting.
"Oh! I'm so sorry! I thought you were my friend! I could have sworn she was right here..."
Sinistra looked anxious, drawing her hands to her and wringing the bristles of her broom-like over skirt in her fingers for a moment. It was a nervous habit, and she did it without thinking as she glanced around the fog. Now she did not see any shadows, and Wezen was so damn silent it would be impossible to hear her. Thankfully, she still felt another aura nearby, and took comfort in assuming that was her roommate.
It was not that she thought any harm would come to Wezen, not really. She did know that Wezen had a bad habit of wandering off and causing her own trouble, and that was what she needed to look out for.
"Are you alright?" she asked, focusing on the Page in front of her. Maybe she was struggling with this fog, as well.

Ngome turned around to face Sinistra. "Yes, I'm fine. This fog is just making it difficult to see anything."Ngome was happy that it was someone who was friendly and on their side. "I am Ngome. Lysithea Knight. How are you?"Were they also out to find the creature that everyone was talking about? Ngome was happy if that was the case. If the creature turned out to be hostile it would be good to have someone on her side.

Sinistra looked relieved, nodding her head to accentuate that considering how thick the fog was, and how hard it would be to see anything subtle. It was a little ridiculous, all told.
And she could not see Wezen at all anymore, which was a problem. That one had a habit of starting trouble out of nothing at all, and just because she did not feel any Chaos around did not mean they were free of some other problem for the alien to drag them into.
While it was always an interesting way to make new friends, she got the impression there were easier ones.
"I'm fine! Just trying to keep up with my friend. She's gone off somewhere in the fog, but I can still sense her. Ah, I'm sorry. I'm Sinistra! Senshi of Brooms." She hated being rude, and always told Wezen to be polite and introduce herself when she met someone new. Yet here she was, running into someone and not even introducing herself properly. She could not afford to let her manners get rusty when she was trying to teach an alien how to coexist peacefully and not awkwardly with humans.

Ngome smiled warmly, happy to meet a new ally in Destiny City. "It's great to meet you, Sinistra. I'm a newcomer to this city, so I'm glad to have someone friendly to talk to. Do you know much about the strange occurrences happening around here lately?" Ngome asked, eager to establish a rapport with Sinistra and gather information about the city. Having only moved to the city for a few months now she felt she still had a lot to learn about the city. Since being a knight Ngome has dealt with a strange dice game, piles of leaves that send you to another part of the city, Large spider webs, and has almost consumed poisoned apples. If she hadn't encountered all these strange things herself she wouldn't have believed anyone when they told her that Destiny City was weird.

"Well," Sinistra looked thoughtful for a moment, considering her answer as if she were worried she might upset the city at large if she were not careful. "Not these strange occurrences, specifically, but uhm. Unfortunately stuff like this does happen a lot around here. Usually around the holidays, magical forces just sort of. Start acting up?"
She chuckled sheepishly, shaking her head. It was nice to relax a bit, though it made her very aware of just how much stress looking after a wayward space alien had been so far. Things were getting better, the more Wezen learned, but now it became a struggle for Sinistra to loosen her caretaking grip.
Maybe she needed to start pulling back, and trusting the other on her own.
"I'm afraid I've been a little busier than usual, so I haven't been able to investigate too much. This fog is a little ridiculous, though! I'm sure it's related to all of that. Ah." She blinked, noticing that Wezen had appeared at some point, and was standing in the fog behind Ngome, looming and silent in that terrifying way she had. Unintentional, Sinistra often tried to argue, mostly with herself.

Ngome startled when she felt a sudden presence behind her. She turned around to see Wezen. Ngome was surprised at how silently the alien had approached. Wezen's presence was imposing, but also intriguing. "I see you found your friend, Hi My name is Ngome, Knight of Lysithea."Ngome extended her hand towards Wezen, hoping to establish a friendly relationship with the alien.

Wezen watched Ngome passively, as she watched all things in life. She did not show any emotion, at the best of times, but right now she was feeling particularly calm. Not being able to see through the fog did not worry her. In fact, it was oddly soothing, though it was unlike anything she had ever felt before.
She would have to try and ask Sinistra about it later, to figure out which Human emotion it ended up being. There were too many to keep track of, and every time she thought she had heard them all, at least in passing, a new one seemed to pop up. Or a new way of saying one she had already learned. Or, even worse, a slightly different variation on another emotion.
This planet was infinitely complicated.
"A knight," Wezen said, with a small nod. She registered the name to her databanks, it seemed, though she was hardly a computer. She did do her best to remember all the names and faces she met on this planet, but coming from a planet where she knew no one: where there was no one to know, even that was new and challenging. She did, at least, recognize the hand shake. Sinistra had taught her about that.
She took the offered hand and shook it firmly, if not holding it a bit too tight.
"I am glad to meet you, Ngome of Lysithea." Wezen said. Sinistra felt her heart flutter a bit, seeing Wezen putting her lessons to use and, mostly, being successful. Her little alien roommate was learning so much, and trying so hard. She was difficult to understand, sure, but Sinistra saw the good in her. She had such a big heart, even if she, Wezen herself, did not know how to recognize it.
"That's a big relief!" Sinistra breathed, shaking her head. "Now that we're all together, maybe we can find our way out of this!"

Ngome nodded in agreement, feeling a sense of relief to have both Sinistra and Wezen by her side in the thick fog. They made for an unlikely trio, but Ngome couldn't deny that their unique skills and perspectives might just be what they needed to navigate through the mysterious occurrences in Destiny City.

Sinistra looked perfectly happy while Wezen continued not to exhibit any kind of facial expression at all. Even so, they both moved to head through the fog with their newly acquired friend. As they walked, Sinistra became more comfortable, which meant she chattered away excitedly while Wezen listened and seemed off on her own planet.
Not that she would ever willingly return there.
By the time the fog cleared and they were in a recognizable place, Sinistra was sure to share her phone number, as well as Wezen's, with Ngome just in case. She was always happy to reconnect and go on a far more normal patrol or, in a dire case, support the other if there was some sort of an emergency. Eventually, though, she and Wezen broke away, Sinistra waving and Wezen holding her hand up stiffly in an effort to mimic her.

Lithiasaur FIN for me too. Thank you for the RP Ngome stood there for a moment, watching Sinistra and Wezen walk away. She felt a pang of sadness at their departure, having enjoyed their company and the sense of camaraderie they had shared in the face of uncertainty. As she turned to continue her own journey through Destiny City, Ngome couldn't shake the feeling that their paths would cross again. There was something special about the bond they had formed in such a short time, something that transcended their differences and brought them together.
