Virtues:prideful – Pride is a sin, or so meemaw will always declare, while also swearing up and down she doesn’t play favorites. That said, she has a certain fondness for those in her care, and for those she forms a close bond to in general. She can’t help but be proud of any accomplishments her loved ones achieved, no matter how big or small, and will go on endlessly about it to anyone who will listen like a proud parent… or granny, in this case. Not to toot her own horn, but like, while Dalgona will never steal anyone’s thunder and take full credit for anything, she does get the warm fuzzies when someone acknowledges her involvement.
patient – Patience is a virtue! Good things come to those who wait! Getting into this senshi raising business has taught Dalgona the value of playing the long game, especially when it comes to one of the senshi under her tutelage. These things take time, especially when one of her senshi is a troublemaker that she is determined to set straight onto the right path, and granny will wait as long as it takes, because she doesn’t believe in setting deadlines on these things. It might just be the hopium speaking, but Dalgona certainly believes in the age old adage of ‘if at first you don’t succeed, try try again’... or ‘Rome wasn’t built in a day’; she certainly knows not to expect instant results, that these things take time, and oh, she’s just kind of repeating herself at this point, isn’t she? Well, you get the idea.
dedicated -- Once Dalgona has someone that she likes and trusts, she’s determined to stick with them through thick and thin, the good and the bad all together. Her loyalty to her loved ones is unwavering, even if her patience gets tested at times, and while she will insist she doesn’t play favorites, Dalgona can often be found gushing on about their accomplishments much in the same manner as a proud parent would at times.
You are the perfect, ultimate idol, never to appear again, the reincarnation of the first star at night, and to take use a term from her kaigai idol days (or Rune’s vtuber lexicon), you are her ‘kamioshi’… though she might have to take a rain check on waving those lightsticks for you.
Flaws: okay grandma let’s get you to bed – Dalgona isn’t quite a senior cat- she’ll argue about the technicalities about what age a cat is considered a senior, and how the years she spent pre-awakening don’t count. At the same time, when surrounded by youngsters, especially the two children in her charge, and having to mentor a much younger Mauvian, she certainly feels like a fossil and much older than she really is. Please, slow down for Granny Dalgona, she can’t keep up… Although her fur is already naturally some shade of silver (or a color that’s close enough to silver), Dalgona certainly feels sometimes like it would go even more gray trying to keep up with all the younglings these days, having previously been used to a slow comfy life as a pampered housecat. While awakening as a Mauvian has instilled in her a certain second wind of youthfulness, she certainly feels her real age at times, and has earned herself the moniker of ‘granny Dalgona’, which. She would prefer you
didn’t, but it does have a certain truth to it?
She can come across as forgetful or unreliable, sometimes pushing herself beyond her limits, to where she exhausts herself because she doesn't seem to even
know her own limitations. In addition, Dalgona often puts herself in situations where she is disadvantaged, endangered, or uncomfortable because she is trying to keep up with others and doesn't know when to step back even when she is a liability.
am i out of touch? No, it’s the children who are wrong – you can’t teach an old dog new tricks. You also can’t expect an old cat to learn how to adapt to modern times and the technology of today, and
especially not modern slang, at least not right away. What is an ‘amongus’ and what does it mean by ‘sus’? When they go ‘WHAT WAS HE COOKING 🔥🔥🔥’, does it not mean they are actually cooking in the kitchen? And ‘tiktok’ isn’t simply the sound of a clock ticking? Hang on, granny needs to go lie down. She gets frustrated easily at things she doesn't understand, with this catching up with the times and all, and is prone to shutting down when overwhelmed with too much info to process. While Dalgona won't necessarily lash out at others, she can sometimes be found requesting that people break things down for her in a way that's easier for her to understand... or rephrase things for her to match the so-called 'archaic' way that she is familiar with.
this is fine. I'm okay with the events that are unfolding currently -- Dalgona does her best to be a good mentor and guardian to both Rune and the twins. At the same time, as a rookie Mauvian who came into the scene a couple years too late to n** potential problems in the bud before they started, Dalgona has her
hands paws full dealing with two small children, one who likes to pray pranks, the other who seems like she’d be scared of her own shadow,
as well as trying to field every question about idols thrown her way by Rune. While Dalgona would like to insist she has things under control, she’s quick to cave under pressure, and struggles to stick to her own choices. Even without the twins around to influence her, meemaw can come across as being seen as unreliable because of said way she can be easily bullied into changing her plans to accommodate others', to where it could be seen as perhaps that she isn't fully committed, or that she (in spite of her insistence that she does
not) does indeed play favorites.
